Addi and Daddy's Mickey/Manny Marathon

Mommy is sick today, so Daddy stayed home from work and we played with my toys and watched a marathon of my two favorite shows. I love "Handy Manny" and "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse"! They teach me and Daddy all kinds of things about shapes, problem solving, sharing, colors, and being friends.

An Anniversary to Remember

Saturday, October 23rd was the 6 year anniversary of mine and Jillian's first date. Say what you will about me remembering what to get when I'm sent to the grocery store, or what to ask the mechanic when he's looking at the car, but some important dates don't get by me! It turns out that last weekend was also perfect weather for family pictures. The trees had really started changing colors, it hadn't snowed yet, and the sun was still a little generous. Thankfully we have a few wonderful friends- one couple who lent us their camera, and another who tinkers in photography- who were willing to help us out.

We went to Tautphaus Park where there were plenty of trees, shade, and sun. Addison was such a good sport, and our friend Carlie just followed her around and took pictures of her. Look closely at these- you can even see a few rare pictures of Addi smiling and laughing for the camera!

As we were finishing, an older gentleman came up to us and asked if he could rake a pile of leaves for Addi and her friend (Carlie's little boy) to jump in. He said that when he was little, there was an older man that would do the same thing in their neighborhood for all the children to play in. It was the perfect way to end the day!

That evening, Dawn and Nate took Addison for us while Jillian and I went to dinner and a movie. We spent the evening in historic downtown Idaho Falls, and even saw the movie at the Idaho Falls Center Twin (Jillian's first visit to this old little theater with so much character!) While we were out, Nate and his friends rented a UFC event. When we came home, Nate (and Grant) told us that Addi kept coming downstairs to watch the fights, and they kept bringing her back up to play so she wouldn't see "all the blood"! While she was there, Grant also taught her how to use the wall and railing for support and while she walked down the stairs.
As I mentioned earlier Addison wants to be such a big helper and I'm trying to let her as much as I can. Steve and I were making some spider cupcakes for some friends and Addi wanted to help. So instead of contaminating all the food, we gave her her very own special bowl of frosting and her own little candies to decorate her own cupcake. She quickly put the cupcake away and started dipping her licorice into the frosting and sucking it off. She did this for a very long time until I put a kabosh on it in fear of her getting sick. If you look at the pictures you can see the HUGE mess she made, but she really was in heaven the whole time.
I also wanted to put a few random pictures in with this. She is just to dang cute, so there are always pictures to be shared. We love our ADDI!

Little girl outfits

I love having a little girl and I love dressing her up so much! Old Navy always has such great clothes for little girls! I loved this dress and wanted to get a picture and Addi wasn't really in the mood but I did it anyways.

Just loved this picture of her eating bacon

WOW, she's angry

Friends save the day

I've been blessed to have wonderful friends in my life. It seems like I always have great friends and I appreciate all of them so much! It's been especially nice since I started staying home full time with Addi. I'll be honest, I get cabin fever some days when it's just me and Addi hanging, running errands, and taking care of the house. I've been able to strengthen my friendship with a couple people I've known for a while and it has saved not only my sanity most of the time, but my life! OK, that's a little extreme, but it is so nice to know that I can call or text and just chat and they'll most likely be having the same type of day as me. They both have kids close to Addison's age and so it is also great for the kids to get together and play and get some energy out. Here are just a few pictures I took last week when we were all together. I just love these little kids! I am hoping to have MANY more get togethers, twinkie Thursdays, wordless Wednesdays, girls night out, Knock-em-dead Tuesdays, motionless Mondays. Alright I've gone too far, but I love all of my friends and I hope I'm as good of a friend to you as you are to me. :)

Pumpkin Patch

We took Addi to the local pumpkin patch and let her pick out a pumpkin. She really loved this little one that we found pretty quick. She did so well and loved riding around pointing out pumpkins. She was even able to ride the train. Steve and I waited while she was on the train and it seemed like it was taking forever and we noticed we couldn't hear the train running anymore so Steve went to investigate. It turns out the wheel had fallen off the train and there were no kids on the train when he got there. So he looked around and sure enough a little ways down the pumpkin patch Addi was headed away towards the road. I think she was trying to find us but didn't know where to go. I was so glad that she didn't get out of the fence. This is why I'll never trust a teenage boy to take my kid on a ride unless I'm actually on it with them. We are sure excited for Halloween in our house!

On the road again

Last week we made a quick trip to Burley to visit my sister and her family! We love going to visit them. We always have a lot of fun and I love playing with my nieces and nephew! Addi loves playing with her cousins too and it is really good for her because they are really good kids and very well behaved, so I think she is learning she needs to calm down just a bit! My sister is currently pregnant with her 4th baby, and she gets up and dressed and looks absolutely adorable everyday. I know if I were her I'd just lay in bed and throw food to my kids. She is so patient with her children and you can tell they just adore her! She is also quite the cook, so it's always a treat to eat with them. Anyway, we had a lot of fun and just wish we could see them more often. We went to Twin Falls where her husband is working and we just shopped and went on a fun little tour of the town. In Twin Falls they have an amazing canyon so we drove down into it and got a beautiful picture with an awesome waterfall. I think when it warms up again we will be going on a picnic there. Had to add a couple pictures from the trip! Thanks Burts for letting us come interrupt your weekend!
