08-31-19: Labor Day weekend - SUMMER PROJECT IS FINISHED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WE DID IT!
IT'S FINALLY COMPLETE!
A PROJECT WE STARTED JULY 4TH WEEKEND
TOOK ALLLLLLL SUMMER LONG.
BUT IT IS DONE!
AND ABOUT $800 MORE THAN WE THOUGHT IT WOULD BE.
HAHAHAHAHAH
Isn't that always the case with our projects?

It looks so great!
I'm really proud of ourselves.
It was a harder project that I had any idea it would be.
Those blocks were 60+ pounds each.
There were 90 of them.
Josh had to carry and install each one of them by himself.
There's the giant root that caused our 12' diameter trampoline to turn into
a 10'x14' rectangle trampoline.
Our labor day weekend was definitely a weekend of LABOR!!

(Adam's happy monster artwork...)

We are finally assembling the trampoline.

It's late into the evening, but we're not going to stop.

We finally finished after 9pm!!
The boys are SO EXCITED!
Too bad that mommy and daddy are so so very tired.
We only let them jump like 10 minutes.
Then we went to bed. LOL

My boys are floating in the air! LOL

08-27-19: Project Trampoline Pit!

We've measured a hundred times.
I think we're done digging....and it's time to put up the wall.
Josh and I took the day off from work to knock it out...or knock it in so to speak LOL

The first row didn't take us as long as we thought it would.

It stayed pretty level.
We used a lot of gravel to make sure.

2nd row!
At this time we had a panic and went and spent an hour assembling the frame of the tramp.
JUST TO BE SURE
that was tramp was REALLY the size we ordered.
Thankfully it was!

08-26-19: A Selfie by Adam

Making me a ZOMBIE he's so awesome!

08-26-19: The Magic Pink Eraser

Just in case you didn't believe me, it's really in there...

And good ole Dr. Brown got it out!

All better and how things should be.
No more magic tricks Mr. Adam!
If you're bored, color a picture, don't stick things in your ear! 😆
Also, for the record I was kinda glad I got to miss a few hours
of work today, it was just one of those Mondays :)

08-26-19: Time passing with pink erasers

I'm sitting here at home on a Monday afternoon waiting for time to pass.  In 30 minutes Adam and I are heading to see Dr. Brown.  Here's why.

The morning started just fine, Adam and Luke went to school.  Josh and I headed to work.  I got a call about 11:30 am from Good Foundations Academy.   Adam was in the front office with an ear ache.  Luke had been sick all weekend with a cold, so it wasn't surprising.  The aide on the phone asked if I wanted to talk to him.

"Hi buddy, what's going on?"
"My ear hurts.  I think I have an ear infection." he said.
"When did it start hurting?"
"I don't know."
"Did you put a pen inside your ear?"
"What happened if I did?" he replied.
"Well, it would hurt, I'll come down and look at it."

I left work and went down to GFA.  There he was, sitting and reading a book.  I hugged him and asked him some questions.  Then I tried to look into it.  It looked like something might be in there, so I used my phone flashlight to get a better look.  It was a bright pink object, stuck deep in his ear.

"Did you put a pink eraser in your ear?!?!?" I asked.
"Yes" he said shyly.  Then he started to cry.  "Is that bad?"

So from there we checked him out and went to Nana's.  She tried to pull it out...but it was in WAY too deep.  So...at 1 pm we'll be seeing Adam's pediatrician Dr. Edward Brown.  Hopefully they can get it out without too much drama.

Wish us luck!
20 minutes to go :)

08-24-19: The hole is dug

ALL OF US have been digging this hole ALL SUMMER.
Luke and Adam have helped us so much digging and moving the dirt.
Almost EVERY SATURDAY you could find us here!
It had been hot, tiring and sweaty.
I have often thought we got in too deep with this project.
This was WAY harder than I thought it would be.
But I think we're just about done!
We also raised the North size up a bunch
(So we didn't have to dig so deep on the South side.

Looking to the Northeast.
It's looking so good!
Can we be done?

08-13-19: BACK TO SCHOOL 2019!

It's official!
Summer break has ended and today marks another school year for these kiddos!

Introducing our newest 2nd grader!

Introducing our big 5th grader!
What?!?! That's crazy to me!

Making that 1st long walk to school.
After today it's drop off service to literally the front door.
But today...we walk.
I'm excited for what this year will bring,
but sad that my babies are growing up so fast!
Did you know that there wasn't a single parent in the 5th grade class!
Not one!
So Josh and I hung out with our 2nd grader until they went outside for the
pledge of allegiance.

It's going to be a great year,
I can just feel it!
This is right before Adam ran up and gave me the biggest hug!

My handsome, super cool 5th grader.
I totally gave him a hug, even if he didn't want me to.

08-11-19

My kiddo is a monkey.
I used to panic all the time about this kid.
Now I've learned, it's just who he is
and fingers crossed he doesn't slip.
Don't get me wrong, I still worry and tell him to be careful.
But I usually don't stop him,  unless it looks TOO dangerous.
He's monkey.
He loves to climb.
I've decided this kid needs to take gymnastics.
What do you think?

Silly willy!

Tonight was our back to school dinner!
We ate under the lights :)
And celebrated the start of a new school year

I love these boys.
They are my whole heart!
(Note Adam's wrist thing, he DID fall and hurt his hand and borrowed my
wrist wrap....it hurt him for a couple of days, but was all better a week later)

Thanks Daddy for this amazing dinner!

We talked about the new scripture for this year.
Josh always picked really good ones!
This one is perfect for our family.
:THE LORD IS MY STRENGTH AND MY SHIELD
MY HEART TRUSTS IN HIM
AND HE HELPS ME
MY HEART LEAPS FOR JOY
AND WITH MY SONG I PRAISE HIM:
PSALM 28:7
