I'm sitting here at home on a Monday afternoon waiting for time to pass. In 30 minutes Adam and I are heading to see Dr. Brown. Here's why.
The morning started just fine, Adam and Luke went to school. Josh and I headed to work. I got a call about 11:30 am from Good Foundations Academy. Adam was in the front office with an ear ache. Luke had been sick all weekend with a cold, so it wasn't surprising. The aide on the phone asked if I wanted to talk to him.
"Hi buddy, what's going on?"
"My ear hurts. I think I have an ear infection." he said.
"When did it start hurting?"
"I don't know."
"Did you put a pen inside your ear?"
"What happened if I did?" he replied.
"Well, it would hurt, I'll come down and look at it."
I left work and went down to GFA. There he was, sitting and reading a book. I hugged him and asked him some questions. Then I tried to look into it. It looked like something might be in there, so I used my phone flashlight to get a better look. It was a bright pink object, stuck deep in his ear.
"Did you put a pink eraser in your ear?!?!?" I asked.
"Yes" he said shyly. Then he started to cry. "Is that bad?"
So from there we checked him out and went to Nana's. She tried to pull it out...but it was in WAY too deep. So...at 1 pm we'll be seeing Adam's pediatrician Dr. Edward Brown. Hopefully they can get it out without too much drama.
Wish us luck!
20 minutes to go :)
