01-14-17: A Pokemon party

This was Luke's birthday invitation.
We printed it out and made it look just like the real deal. :)

Today is the day for the pokemon Party!

It was a little insane, but we had all my siblings come and stay and help
(which I am so grateful for!)
Luke wanted to invite EVERY cousin he had plus all of his friends.
It's his 8 year old birthday party.
Kinda a big one!
SO how could I say no?

SO the party went like this:
We had 3 stations.
Station 1 was in the living room, where they played Pokemon bingo
Station 2 was downstairs where they played a couple of minute to win it games (Josh was in charge)
Station 3 was in the toy room where they made their own Pokemon creatures!

Adam's HO-OH pokemon
Everyone loved creating their own!

The HUGE group of kids! I can't believe it, but we were organized and it wasn't too chaotic!
We opened presents and let each kiddo 'catch' their own pokemon.
It was a super simple, but super fun birthday party!

Luke loved every minute of it!
I can't believe I have a 8 year old boy!!
I honestly can't believe it!
Where does the time go?
What have we been doing since he was born?
I can't keep track of our lives anymore. LOL

This is Adam's Picachu. He traced it, I was so proud!
I wanted to keep it, but he wanted to give it to his cousin Stockton Summers,
so at least I got a photo of it :)

We made these fun Poke cards for everyone that came.
I think they were the biggest hit of the party!

And of course, they were all Mega EX cards! *wink*

01-08-17: Luke is 8!

It is truly great to be 8!
I can't believe my buddy is 8 years old!
He has waited a long time to finally be 8!
This is a big year for him, he will be a cubscout
AND BE BAPTIZED!

  
   

This boy loves all thing Pokemon.
So his brother gave him a picachu ex tin & set.
It was super important for Adam.
Luke LOVED it!
And can I just say what a good sport Adam was this year.
He was so sweet and kind and excited for his brother.
It was the perfect day for Luke!

  

So, besides the Pokemon, Luke got a brand new suit!
He looks SO handsome and SO grown up!
They both do.

   

I love these two so much.
I hope they always know how special they are to me. 

Luke,
thank you for choosing to come to our family.
I love your creativity, your silliness, your kind heart.
I wish you happiness and joy.
I want you to have a beautiful life and I want
you to know how proud Mommy & Daddy are of you.
It's not easy being a kid.
But you try your best, and I'm so proud to be your Mommy.

  

In case you can't tell, this is his very own RUBIX cube!
He is beyond excited.

Nana, Papa and Great Grandpa Nelson came over for dinner & dessert.
Nana and Papa gave you for your first set of scriptures with an army case.
It was perfectly you.
You are so excited about your scriptures.
I hope you always will be.
I know you haven't learned how to study them yet, but you will.
And when you do, I hope you will treasure those scriptures.
They will give you peace and protection.
You always remind us every night to listen to the scriptures.
We are listening to the Book of Mormon again (we finished the BOM in December!)
I know I have felt more peace and protection by listening to them.
And we NEED as much protection and peace as we can get.
Because this world feels crazy and scary sometimes.
Always read the scriptures buddy.
I promise you will receive all your big questions about life
by reading them.
