09-29-15: Sister Summers goodbyes

It's official!
We were blessed to be invited to Shelby's setting apart as a missionary tonight.
What a great spiritual experience, I am so grateful to have been a part of that.
Her stake president, and the bishopric came.
They gave her some excellent advice and then set her part as a

Missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints
for the next 18 months.
There were many tears shed, for we will all miss her.
But she is going to be doing some great things.
She leaves for the MTC tomorrow morning.

We love her so much and are anxious to hear about her adventures
serving the people of San Diego, California.
We will pray for you everyday Sister Summers!
Love you!

09-24-15: Watch what you swat

The craziest thing happened today!
While Luke was sitting on the grass waiting for me to pick him up from school
a bee was buzzing by him.
He mistook that bee for a fly and swatted it.
He just happened to hit it right in the stinger and got it stuck in his finger.
By the time I got there he was sobbing. It was so painful.
His finger swelled up to where he couldn't even bend it.
Poor fella.
Poor bee.
Poor finger!

09-21-15: Play and slide

Some days you just need to go to the park and play with your Mommy.
This doesn't happen nearly enough as it should.
I'm glad we got to do it today.

09-18-15: Friday night fun

It's Friday night.
Daddy has to work late.
What should we do?
Let's go to Lowes!

We'll wonder around and look at stuff.
Mommy will prolly buy a plant.

And find fun things to play in :)

09-16-15: Lunch with Great Gramps

Great Grandpa Nelson picked Mommy up from work and Luke from school and
took us to lunch!
Where did we go?
Any guesses?
All right, I'll tell you.
Arby's.
Really, no surprise there.
A child like his mother.
Likes the exact same stuff I do.
And likes to eat the exact same places over and over and over again. :)
Thanks for lunch gramps!

09-14-15: Birthday cake wins

Josh and I had a contest.
The person with the most steps that day wins whatever they want.
Josh won and Jen had to MAKE him his birthday cake this year.

It took me all day pretty much.
And it really doesn't look that grand.
But he wanted a yellow cake with chocolate frosting.
Joshua was happy, and that's all that matters to me :)

Adam helped, and made sure it said "Daddy" on it.

Thanks for all the family who came to celebrate with us.
We were going to do it outside, but it rained.
And my house was a mess.
So mom was so kind to let us crash at her house.
We celebrated it late, because we all know where he was on his birthday...
ON THE BEACH IN CARLSBAD CALIFORNIA :)

Oh, BTW, this kiddo got a haircut today!
So handsome!
