The Fort...

Garrett decided he wanted to build a little fort today. Yeah, it's nothing fancy but he thought it was fabulous! The 2 of them hung out in there for, oh you know, all of 3 minutes but they sure had fun while they were in there! I love these little guys!

Our "Happy Fall" FHE...

So my kids are totally stoked for fall. The leaves are changing, pumpkins are out and Halloween is next month. So I thought for our FHE activity we would paint pumpkins! (we did FHE on Sunday night) The kids thought it was the greatest thing ever!

Here is the finished product! From L to R: Garrett, Bennett and Alexis' pumpkins!

Dalmation feet, my latest project, my "big girl bag" and Young Women activity...

Here is my fabulous new hand bag. I call it my "big girl bag" because it is nothing like my old bags that look like a 13 or 14 year old would carry. Not only that, it's not brown or black like all my other bags! This bag was such a steal from it's original $80.00 price tag. And after my $10- off coupon I scored this bag for $30.00!

Bryan really was such a great sport to model my bag for me! Way to go babe!

This is a project I am doing with my Mia Maid girls on Wednesday. Can I just say how much I love serving in the YW Presidency and with these amazing girls! I love this calling and the growth I already feel from serving with them. So this month's value is Choice and Accountability. They are going to each get their own unfinished frame and then, of course, paint it whatever color they choose and design it however they want. I have tons of options for them to choose from. Then they can keep it in their room as a reminder that they can "choose" to follow Christ. I love this picture with the YW surrounding Christ.
Here is my latest find and project. So I wish I had taken a picture before I took the knobs off and thrown a little tester paint on it but oh well! So I found this at a garage sell today for $5- bucks! Woo hoo! Poor Bryan, he cringes when there is a "Garage Sale" sign! Anyhow, I am painting it and of course sanding it and then it will be a new dresser for Garrett. I will post pic's when I am done. Happy Painting!
So I decided to treat myself to a pedicure. The lady was insistent on doing polka dots on top of my french manicure. So, I gave in. The pedicure was amazing but I left feeling like a part of me turned into a Dalmatian. So I have spent the remainder of the night humming the 101 Dalmatians Disney song every time I look at my feet! Sing it with me, "we'll have a dalmatian plantation...."

Garbage men on my lawn...

This is my question...Does is strike anyone else as odd that my garbage men think it's okay to camp out on my lawn and have lunch every Wednesday? Honestly, maybe they don't think I'm home, since my car is parked in the garage. Maybe it's because we have a huge tree out front with great shade. But then again, looking down my street there are other yards with just as great of trees with shade attached! Do I just let it go and think of it as helping out our fellow garbage men that work so hard in the blasted heat? Anyhow, I'm not sure what to think about it so when all else fails, I turn to my blog viewers for their great advice. Advice, anyone??

Big Boy Bennett....

So I actually caught a moment where Garrett and Bennett were sitting quietly next to each other; that never happens. Anyhow, after looking at the picture I realized how big Bennett really is! Garrett is 29 months old Bennett 16 months old and they both weigh 28.4 pounds. You should see these 2 wrestle; it's always a toss up of who's going to win. Anyhow, they are so cute and there is never a dull moment with these two!

Kids say the funniest things...

So kids always say such funny things but today Garrett made me laugh so hard that I had to add it here. We were dropping Lex off for school and one of her eyes had been itching and watering and just really bugging her. It has been bugging her a little bit the last couple of days. So I was checking her eye out, trying to decide if maybe she should stay home and I said to her, " I hope you are not getting Pink Eye." So I told her to go and try to turn in her homework and then come back and we will go home. So off she went and as we were watching her run to her classroom Garrett says, " Mom, I think I am getting "brown leg." I laughed and then thought how clever he was. He's probably wondering what the heck is pink eye and decided to come up with an ailment of his own. Anyhow, I hope you get a laugh as well!

It never hurts to ask...

So there is a house by Alexis' school that had this very cute desk and chair sitting out front. I loved it and had so many ideas of what I could do with it. So I went to the door and knocked to see what their plans were with it. Well, no answer so I figured, oh well. So the next day it was still there so I tried going to the door again, no answer. I got in my car to leave and decided to go back to the front door and leave a note with my phone number. Well, they called me later and said I could have it! I was planning on paying something but they said just to come get it and enjoy! Yes, I love free things. Anyhow, it's super cute in Alexis' room and I am in the process of sanding the edges to give it that shabby chic look. (The picture really doesn't do it justice with how cute it is.)

Time Out for Women/ Moms!!

A couple of my awesome friends and I headed to Sacramento this last weekend for Time Out for Women. I had not been away by myself in 8 years of marriage and was looking forward to letting Bryan have some "bonding" time with the kids!We left Friday around 3pm and when we got to Sacramento we went to the outlets, dinner and to the movies to see Mama Mia! What a cute show; I highly recommend seeing it. It was my friend Erinn's 5th time seeing it and I warned her that a Mama Mia intervention would follow if she saw it again! Anyhow, we crashed in a hotel and then on Saturday morning we were off to TOFW. I have always been hesitant about going to this event worried it would be totally cheesy and not so "down to earth." I was pleasantly surprised to find that the speakers were very in tune with "reality" and what life can throw at you and it ended up being an amazing day! Kenneth Cope was the performer there and did an excellent job. I think all 3 of us got the spiritual uplift we so desperately needed. After that we were off to Reno where we ate Cold Stone ice- cream for dinner and of all places on a girl's weekend away, ended up at the UNR football game. It was packed with people and we had a great time. Thanks Erinn and Kelli for an awesome weekend!!

I did the unthinkable....

Yes, I cut Garrett's curls! For those of you who don't know this, Garrett loves his curl's and never wants them cut! Well, today I had had enough of his fro! After I cut it he said, "Hey, now I look like Dad, that's silly!" He likes his "new do" and it's easier for me to deal with. He just looks so grown up now!!

Garrett and I made some soft pretzels today. He was so proud of himself and was such a big help! (this was his hair just an hour before I cut it!)
Bat-Garrett? He is definitely into the superhero stuff and spends a lot of his time jumping off something to mimic flying like a superhero!

Alexis' first soccer game!

Alexis before her first game. I think she loves soccer almost as much as I do. Her team name for this year is "The Stingers" (hence the gold and black)! They really are a great little team and won their first game 5 to 0!
Here Lex and I are getting ready for the coin flip. We won it and chose the side we wanted to be on rather than kick off! Alexis was excited to be the captain for the game.
Can you see her in there? Alexis is the one dribbling towards the goal. She really did such a great job!
Alexis is getting ready for the pass from her teammate!
