Genesis Day Two

UPDATE FROM TOM:  They took out 3 trailer-loads of rocks (that little pile was the leftovers) and about 7 yards of material total from the backyard (dirt, rocks and weeds).  They also plan on finishing by the end of the week!  Gonna have to get on the horn to the Father-In-Law...

Genesis was busy again today!  They are almost done with the trenching and have begun laying the lines.  Annie had to inspect things and I think she approves.
They trenched along the patio - which probably was a lot of work since I don't know that they could use the trencher that close to the cement.
Then they trenched out into the yard and ran a parallel trench along the back fence.  They had to move the rock pile a bit - it was right where they are putting the drainage for the patio gutter.
They finished trenching along the sidewalk - another yuck job with all the hand digging.
The control box looks like a puzzle -
I can't wait to start them up!!!

Genesis Landscaping started work on the backyard today!  From what I can see, they did their "level" best to level the backyard.
They left their equipment in the back so they can get started right away in the morning.
They also made a little pile of rocks - which I expect to get bigger because Josh and I have made a pile bigger than that when we were putting the dog kennel in.
They also dug out the control boxes on the side of the house.
They started trenching into the backyard too - didn't make it very far and it will probably be pretty slow along there since they have to trench it by hand that close to the sidewalk.
More to come as things progress!

I JUST ... did some yardwork with Josh

A little backyard update.  We’ve been planning on putting in sod and raised beds in the backyard since we moved in.  There was never anything in the backyard but rocky clay and weeds and we bought the house with the intention of getting the yard in ASAP.
That was 5 years ago…  We finally got a contract signed with a landscaper and were told to get everything in the backyard that was on the weeds onto the concrete so they could come in, trench, lay irrigation and level with top soil.  So that is what we did!  Josh weed-whacked everything down and raked it into piles (for me to pick up later when the yard bin was emptied),
I pulled the lilies, trees and other tubs up onto the cement in an orderly fashion

and we used the apple boxes (we bought two or three years ago) as make-shift planters for the veggies we have since our sod and planter boxes won’t be in until late June.
Took us most of the day, but we did it and then we crashed on the couch with the girls for a movie.
