New School Year

The kids started yet another school year today. Maddi is in the big 7th grade. She's excited about her schedule especially her German class. She did quite well last year and loves to say short phrases to the neighbors. They smile and think it's great that she's trying to learn their language. We think it's pretty awesome too!

This picture is a bit dark but it turned out better than the other one of Dallin the big 1st grader. He's excited for 1st grade. His teacher seems like a nice lady and he knows a few kids in the class.

Here's Lauryn being a ham for the camera. She's going into 4th grade. She has a few friends in her class, she's excited.
Brilee loves school and is excited for 5th grade. She has a male teacher this year, I remember my first male teacher in the 5th grade too. I know she'll have fun!

With these kids all ready and out the door, what will I ever do with my time?? I'll tell you what I did today...came home and jumped back in bed! Then, I got back up, went running, cleaned house and I'm blogging. What a day. We start piano, gymnastics and Dallin begins percussion lessons. Evenings will be juggled from one event to another. We're looking forward to seeing their talents expand.

We loved watching Dallin interact with the kids in his class. Notice who gathers around him? One of the girls next to him had told her friend that she liked Dallin. (they met Friday at the picnic) So, now the other friend likes him too. :-) He has quite the following already, what will we ever do?

Where in the world is Mike and Traci???

Mike got selected for a conference at Scott AFB, Illinois. The spouses were invited all expenses paid. Luckily, Mike's parents were visiting us and offered to watch the kids while we took off. They're the best! They even watched the kids part time last week while I was at girls camp.
We arrived to our destination last night (Sunday) around 8pm. We woke up bright and early around 5:30 and began our day by watching a thunderstorm. We showered and headed out to...
Somewhere we haven't eaten at in years! We were not disappointed, they always feed us well. Maddi, I hope you aren't too mad that we ate at Cracker barrel... hee hee!
Feeling quite tired from our early wake up, we stopped into QT.
No trip to the states is complete without a daily trip to either of these stores. Sometimes twice in one day. :-)
We then drove into St. Louis to walk around the river front and take pictures of the arch.
The Temple is closed on Monday's but it's our only free day before the conference begins. So, we headed over to take pictures of the beautiful grounds. I wish I could grow flowers like they do.
That's how our day has gone so far. We have dinner in about 30 minutes then off to bed. Our day begins bright and early in the morning with classes that we'll both be in. I hope I don't fall asleep.
I have to say, that I sure love this man! HE is the best friend any girl could ask for. I am thankful that we have this week to laugh and smile with eachother. More updates to follow......
