A GiRlS ONLY SpA DaY

This is where the Spa fun began. The girls had their toe nails clipped by Aunt Stacy.

After clipping, the facials were given by Nana. This had corn meal with some olive oil.

I'm confused

I bought the lip gloss to send to girls camp for a secret sister gift. Hmmm.... contains lead...not to be eaten. I don't normally eat the gloss but it ends up in my mouth 100% of the time because it usually tastes yummy and I do lick my lips. Needless to say, this unlucky girl who received the gift threw it away. We had a few in our bags to take back to Germany. I don't think I'll hand those out. CRAZY!

A Very "Pleasant" Day

We had such a fun day today at Lake Pleasant. I've never been there which is pretty silly as it's only about 45 minutes from where we lived while at Luke. The water levels were up quite high, and the water temperature was perfect. Outside it was around 102', perfect for chillin in the water. We packed up, grabbed treats and were off!

If you're looking at the white truck at the bottom of the picture, straight across from it is a tree by itself. We parked under that tree.

This is Maddi the fish. She swam almost the entire time. We had to yell at her several times to come in closer to the shore, she just LOVES to swim!

We're OLD!

Today we sent Maddi off to girls camp with the ward we lived in before we headed to Germany. We were in the La Loma ward for about 5 years and have many dear friends that are still here. They graciously allowed Maddi to attend camp with them for the week. She has anticipated this event for months now. I remember my years at girls camp, oh what great memories!


They are going to have sooo much fun. I looked at the schedule for the week long camp. They'll be hiking to a lake, hatchet throwing (SCARY), learning archery, zip lining, canoing, horse riding and more. I can't wait to hear about her adventures on Friday.

This is her best friend Maddy Taylor. These girls have known eachother since kindergarten. They both are attending camp for the first time this year.
Loaded up in the car and ready for the drive up to their camping site. They'll be tent camping for the week. Showers will be brought in on Thursday, I'm sure it'll be a happy day for everyone. :-)

My Brother the Police Officer

Today we had the fun opportunity to meet up with my brother Brandon to see him on the job. He joined the Police Force while we were away so this was our first chance to see him in uniform and look at his cool police car.

Dallin was in heaven pushing the buttons and asking question after question.
My favorite question was when he asked what gun was in the car. He was told it was an "assault rifle" Dallin's response... "Does it shoot out salt?" We had a good laugh at that one. Although, I can't exactly picture my brother shooting a gun or even an assault rifle. Growing up, he was quite goofy and had this huge nerdy grin/smile we called the "Byron smile". Actually, he still has that huge smile, I can't picture him trying to wipe it off his face while he's on a call. We love you and your "Byron smile" and thank you for taking time to show us your world!



It was all fun and games until they realized they could NOT open the doors up.

I just had to add these pictures because I think my Brother is quite handsome in his uniform. We're proud of him and his hard work. Seeing him in uniform on the job makes it seem more real now. We almost DON'T want him to go out on calls but know he enjoys his job and keeps the city a safer place.
We were out in the parking lot of a casino on the reservation. The kids loved the sirens. We were laughing in the video at his back scratcher in the car. Maybe it's a common thing to carry in a police car, we just thought it was funny.

Remembering June 6, 1944

Today I walked the beach in Normandy France where over 5,000 US soldiers struggled to survive as they made their journey inland dodging bullets and mortar shells in an effort to fight against the German Armies who had previously invaded France...the whole experience really opens your eyes to the sacrifices these men made to keep America free.



These were French citizens acting as US Soldiers...

My camera broke the 2nd day we arrived. Which was unfortunate because we had a blast up in the mountains with 6 other families. I snapped these at our yummy family dinner Sunday night. Every sibling was present except for one. We even had a cousin come out to enjoy the fun. We are enjoying our time thus far. I am going crazy driving 65 mph on the freeway. It's also hard having slow vehicles in the far left lane. Wah Wah Wah!
