Packing

For all those mothers out there who have ever taken their baby on a plane trip, why didn't you warn me how much stuff I would need to pack? Between the monitor, the diapers, the towels, the blankets, the pool toys, the regular toys, the mountain of clothes, the stroller, the stroller cover, the sunscreen, the tylenol, the extra this and that and the "just in cases" and everything else I didn't mention, it's quite a lot of stuff! I know some of this has to do with being a new mom who over-prepares for everything. Still, we'll be sure to have some funny stories to tell of us trudging through New York. It will be an adventure to say the least. Will is at a fun age where he is absolutely fascinated by the scenery, and New York will have lots of that to offer.

Lynden Jam Session

A highlight from this week was a day trip up to Everson, WA (next to Lynden, close to Bellingham) to visit our friends, the Van Dyks. The occasion: jam making, and a chance to meet the newest member of our SPU-alum crowd, Owen St. Hilaire, son of CJ and Jen. While the ladies made yummy strawberry freezer jam, the guys did another kind of jamming (Guitar Hero).
In other news, I (Carly) have decided to stay home full-time with Will rather than continuing to work at Valley. I'll fill in there occasionally for vacation coverage, but otherwise look forward to holding down the home front! It took a lot of prayerful consideration, but we feel confident that this is the best decision for our family.
Our next big event is a trip to New York for a family reunion and also a chance to visit some friends in the city. It will be our first time to the Big Apple and Will's first plane trip. We'll be sure to post lots of pictures when we get back!

Each day with William is a delight! This week Will made it clear that this baby can no longer live on breast milk alone and his diet now includes rice cereal with more foods to come. Will also began cutting his first tooth with more of those to come as well. Below are some recent pictures and a video of our favorite prince in action.

A Day at the Beach
