June Days

Look--Pippi and Ty are almost cuddling!!

He's already growing so fast! I'm going to keep taking pictures of him and Pippi so everyone can get an idea of how big he's getting! He's been a good boy (for the most part) and we're getting to sleep through the night now! It's just when he's up to play--he's up to play!! We're being lazy at home today--hence the updates to the blog! :)

Puppy Days...

So...not a lot of sleep in the last week has made me quite delirious and sluggish. The pup has been pretty good, though. He wakes about once every night for a potty break, but then he is AWAKE again at 5:30-5:45 for the day. He is so playful and fun to watch. He's into everything which means that Tim and I have to have a constant eye on him. We've brought out the Bitter Apple (which he HATES) to try and prevent furniture chewing (because he LOVES the coffee table and entertainment center). We've started to socialize him and he's had a busy two nights. He got to meet Zeus (my sister's golden retriever) and my brother's dogs on Wednesday night. On Thursday night he came to bunco with me so he had about 11 other girls ooing and ahhing all night, which was just exhausting to him!! (helped him sleep through the night, I might add). Tim is madly in love with the little guy, it's so cute! My mama asked me to take pictures of him and Pippi so she can "watch him grow." So...here are pictures of Tyson at 7.5 weeks and Pippi. Pippi girl is tolerating the little guy and even plays with him every now and then, even though Tyson loves to terrorize her. One of his favorite games is to take everything out of her crate and tug it around. She was not into taking the pictures, though.
I had to be in the picture to hold them. Tyson wanted to play and Pippi wanted to be away from Tyson. They're the same size right now...but I'm sure not for long!

Here is picture number two. Quite often, Tyson will sit if he can't do what he wants. And then whine.
I begged Pippi to take this picture for me. She sighed, and sat there...until the flash went off...then she took off to her crate to get away from Tyson. (though she likes him when he's sleeping!)

Tyson's First Day

Well, yesterday Tim and I drove to Des Arc, AR to pick up our Tyson puppy. We had two males to choose from. One male was handed to Tim and another to me. The pup that was handed to Tim seemed a little relunctant--whereas the pup handed to me was ready to shower me with kisses. We switched pups and got the same results. We didn't even have to have a discussion to know which guy was coming home with us! It was love at first sight! Tyson and the breeder gave us a tour of the yard and we got to meet Tyson's parents and grandparents. After about two hours, we left the breeder's and headed home. Tyson was very good in the car ride home and just snuggled with me. Tim was driving--but found it difficult, because he just wanted to watch the puppy! When we got home we introduced Tyson to Pippi. She actually was a lot better behaved than I thought she would be and has only nipped at him a couple of times. Tyson wasn't so sure about his new home and just wanted to lay in the yard. But Tim and I wouldn't let him because we want him to know the yard is used to go potty--at least for now! He was timid at first, but warmed up to us quite quickly! He slept through most of the night--I only had to get out of bed with him once--but once that sun started peeking through the clouds, he was ready to be awake! So, Pippi, Tyson and I were up at 5:45 am (keep in mind, I am usually up around 7--) and played and ate and went potty. Here are some pics of Tyson's first night home:
There is just so much for Mr. Tyson to check out...

And it's definitely difficult to catch a good action shot!

His first day home was SO exhausting!

Tyson and his brother

These are the two boys we get to choose from on Sunday. Not quite sure which one is officially Tyson, but aren't they both adorable?!? Edited 6/16/08: Tyson is the little guy in the back leaning against the wall...

Baby Tyson is on his way!!

Tim and I are getting a puppy on Sunday, June 15th. We've been busy getting the house ready and giving Pippi lots of extra attention. He is a boxer boy and we've decided to name him Tyson. Get ready for some stories...I'm sure I'll have plenty in the upcoming weeks!!

Big Cedar Lodge

For my two year anniversary, Tim took me for a long weekend at Big Cedar Lodge. It was sooo beautiful! Tim and I just enjoyed each other's company...took long walks all over the property, lounged around the pool--we both got massages and we took a carriage ride, too! We also played miniature golf...the golf course is currently closed b/c they're rebuilding it's restaurant, so the mini-course had to do. Both nights after dinner, Tim and I would walk down to this waterfall w/ a bottle of wine and sit and chat and have a glass. It was so peaceful and calm. It was so nice to get away from it all and just focus on each other. It's easy sometimes to forget how much we truly enjoy one another's company---with the hectic life going on around us, ya know??? So, it was a much needed and deserved mini-vacation. We both fell in love w/ the resort and hope to go back as soon as possible.
Here's Tim pouring a glass of wine next to the waterfall outside of our room.

Self portrait in front of the waterfall...I wish we'd had better lighting!

Tim and I played miniature golf...the golf course is closed this season due to construction.

Tim and I on the carriage ride throughout the resort.

Here's the restaurant we ate at both nights.

This is the lodge right next door to us--actually this view is from our room.

I included this pic--I think Tim's face is hilarious!! We laughed about this for awhile!
