Being Grateful

Well, I am in the hospital with Shawn right now. This is our third day now living in our little room. On Thursday he was riding his horse, and got bucked off landing on his shoulder and side. He broke 4 ribs and punchured his lung. He is in excrutiating pain and hasn't been able to get comfortable. Yesterday he started throwing up which is not the best thing with broken ribs. After that he couldn't eat or drink anything because they thought his intestines were having problems. This morning he did not feel good at all. He was in so much pain. But tonight we have turned a corner, and he feels better. I am so glad. My big guy can take a lot of pain, and I have never seen him in this much. I am grateful for good nurses, kids who are awesome, friends who are taking care of my kids, phonecalls from friends and family, visitors, and everyone that has called and been concerned.

But tonight he is doing better. The pain is not as bad, and it is getting under control. He is even getting his appetite back. He is requesting Chip Ahoy Soft cookies!! Good thing for in-laws.

Jace the Ironman

Today we ran to Primary Childrens Hospital to see our tough little bud Jace Leatham. He was diagnosed with Leukemia on Friday and now will start chemo tomorrow. They were all getting ready to go for a walk down the hall so they had to put masks on to stay away from the germs.

Alisha loves Jace, and I think the feeling is mutual. He was so happy to see her and her him. She was up at 5:00 A.M. this morning for us to go. She laid in his bed all day with him hugging him and kissing him. He is her favorite. Jace is a tough little man, and we know that he will make it through this.

This is them right when they fell asleep they both have grins on their faces. So cute. Keep this family in your prayers, they will need it.

Baseball and more baseball

Kyler was on a traveling baseball team this spring. This is a picture of his team. The coaches were the best ever! They taught the boys more than just baseball. It was fun to watch them grow. Thanks Art Sr, Art, and Rick we love you guys!!!!

Ky's last game it was raining like crazy. He slid into 3rd base and home plate. He was really muddy, but had a great time. And we won which was great!!

Ky also played on a city team. Shawn was his coach. They had a great time together. Their team improved so much from the first game that they played. Shawn was a great coach. It was fun to watch them.
And now Ky is on an All-Star Baseball team. We are in the Madison Tournament this weekend. We won our games yesterday and today. Hopefully we will do good tomorrow. I will post pictures after this weekend.
Alisha has been gone to soccer camp all week in Cedar City, UT. She was told by the Varsity High School coach that he was impressed with her skills. We are glad to have her back, we missed her. She is playing softball, and on a summer traveling soccer team. She is growing so fast.

A Great Birthday Present

My little girl turned 14 on March 17. I can't believe it. Time has gone by so fast. Her friend gave her a ticket to go see David Archeletta in concert in Pocatello a few days after her birthday. I was able to go too, it was so fun. The girls were crazy and I think in love now. We had a great time together. Thanks Coy and Taylor for a great night!!

Alisha and Me before the concert.

Alisha got a shirt at the concert. This is it.

Fun memories to have with each other. Thanks Lish.

Our kids are our teachers

This week has been a rough one at our house. A young man in our ward was killed in an car accident last Mon. On Tuesday morning, Lish received a text saying for people to wear church clothes in memory of him. I really didn't want to wear a dress, and neither did Lish. But my little man taught us that day. He asked if he could wear his white shirt and tie to school. Of course I said yes then went and changed myself. I then told Ky that I didn't have time to make breakfast, and he would have to just eat cereal that morning. He asked me if it would be all right if he fasted that day. What a great teacher he is to me. I know I learn more from my kids than they learn from me.
We went to this young mans funeral, and wow, what a great spirit there was. To top off the week, we had fast sunday today. I told Ky last night that it was going to be Fast Sunday today, he said something like oh man so do I have to bear my testimony? I told him it was up to him. Since he has turned 8, he has been too nervous to bear his testimony at church. Well today without saying anything to us, he stood and went to the front and bore his testimony. What great lessons I learn from my kids. They amaze me everyday.

Christmas

Christmas was so fun this year!! We were out of school last Friday, so I had a few days to finish getting ready. Last Monday Lish had a soccer game and we had to go to I.F. On our way home, it took us an hour from I.F. to get home. The roads were so bad. I was glad Shawn was driving.
We had a great experience this year to do the 12 days of Christmas to a family in our ward. They have 3 little kids ages 6 and under. Every night Lish and Ky would run the items to the door, ring the door bell and run. They had so much fun doing this. Then on Christmas Eve, Shawn dressed up in a Santa suit and we went over giving them a present and a sock filled with things. The little kids loved it. They couldn't believe that Santa was there. It was such a great experience. This family the dad is going to school, and they think the mom has MS. They don't have much, and seemed very grateful for what we did. It really helped us rememer what the true meaning of Christmas is.
A boy in our community passed was killed in a car wreck the Saturday before Christmas. His funeral was the 23rd. I knew his family, and what a hard trial to go through. Christmas is a great time of year because we get together with friends and family. We send cards to loved ones that we don't talk to much. We think of our Savior more and the sacrafices that he made for us. We are a little nicer and kinder to people. I wondered this year if it could be possible for everyone to act this way all year round. I know that I am going to make that one of my goals for next year, to act and treat others as I do at Christmas time.
So here are a few pictures of my kids on Christmas morning.

What a wonderful time of year it is. I hope you all had a merry christmas and have many blessings throughout the next year!!
