Partying with the Stars!!!

So this last Saturday I had the chance to head to Park City with a couple of my friends to attend the Sundance Film Festival. We headed out in the early afternoon and after stopping in Morgan where my mommy made us a delicious lunch we headed on out on our search for the celebs! hahaha There were only a couple cited: Beyonnce & Nick Cannon, Paris Hilton, Mark Harmon, and the chick who plays Tapanga on Boy Meets World! Anyway, we just hung out and walked the cold street for a little bit taking in all the venues and feeling special. Then we stood in line to get a ticket number that would then get us in line to actually buy a ticket for one of the films they were showing!
It was a long process but we entertained ourselves pretty well! In between line waiting we grabbed some pizza and just chilled. The film we got into was called Zion and His Brother... it was a really sad story about the reality of a teenage boy in the middle east and how he has to overcome a bunch of different familial problems and other factors. It was one of those things you see that makes you especially grateful for what you have and adds a sense of guilt for ever thinking your life was hard. I would definately say it was a neat experience. We spent a lot of time waiting for shuttles and riding on shuttles since it was really hard to actually park downtown. Once we finally got picked up that night and made it to the car, we then headed back to Logan around 1 AM. It was a long 2 hour drive in the middle of the night but I took passenger seat and kept Nate awake so he safely got us home. It was a fun night for sure, just more memories to add to the list!!!

I "cleaned the sink" at ANGIES!!

So there's this little hometown restaurant here in Logan called Angie's. It's basically your homestyle version of a Denny's. Anyway, they have this giant ice cream sundae called "the sink"... it's half a gallon of ice cream covered in whip cream, chocolate, strawberry, and caramel syrup, bannanas, strawberries, M&Ms, oreos, butterfingers, peanut butter cups, etc. So the deal is, if you can eat a whole "sink" by yourself and keep it down for a decent amount of time you have the privilege of saying you "cleaned the sink at Angies"! That is a big bragging right but very few people accomplish it! So after the basketball game the other night a bunch of us went to Angies which is a common tradition anyway. But this time a group of us decided to order one "sink" and just share it. Well we were trying to finish it before another group of our friends on the next table and we got it down to where it was like that puddly milky stuff so my friend Nate says, "Shantelle you should just drink it really fast then we'll be done" He promised he'd hold my hair and not dump it right on top of me... Well, it was working well until I needed to swallow. I have a slight cold and my nose is stuffed up so when I went to swallow I also needed to breathe, but I couldn't breathe, swallow, and keep drinking the goop that was being poured into my mouth. So I pulled back, nate kept pouring, i gasped for air without swallowing first and there went the ice cream!!! All over everyone at the table, all over my pants, in my hair, EVERYWHERE!!! Not to mention that in the process I somehow knocked all the drinks over on the table... yeah it was messy!! The entire restaurant by now was just in hysterics laughing at me including myself. Of course my wonderful kind friends made sure they took a picture before handing me a napkin!! The waitress was so entertained as well that even though I didn't technically finish eating a whole sink by myself, she still gave me a bumper sticker and I now hold the rights that I "cleaned the sink at ANGIES!!" It was a messy memory for sure!!

Happy Late New Years!!!

So Christmas break was just simply AMAZING!! I had so much fun and of course I spent 90% of it playing! Ha ha After Disneyland Christmas came along but because of work I spent most of my time up here in Logan aside from Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. But that's ok I had a couple friends up here and we made our own fun! Then of course we had our Topham Family party last Monday at the Little America Hotel in Salt Lake, which was great fun as well! I always love those girl talks with my sweet cousins! We're more like sisters though! I was guilty for keeping them up til the wee hours of the morning... oops!! haha
THEN in case I haven't played enough yet, I went on a road trip to VEGAS for New Years eve!! I went with 7 of my favorite boys and 2 other girls! We hit St. George on Tuesday and made a stop at the oh so famous In and Out burger then had an interesting and hillarious game of charades tell about 3 in the morning!
It was great!
The next morning was New Years Eve and we then drove to Mesquite where my dear sweet wonderful Aunt and Uncle let us use their four wheelers, mule, and large area of land to play on. I was so entertained by my city boy friends... the dirt, mountains, and cows were so very new to them! hahaha After a couple hours of fun there we got showered up hit Casa Blanca casino on our way out of town for a delicious buffet then we were off to Sin City!!!

Now if anyone is wondering... YES my parents knew and gave me permission to venture into this interesting city with a bunch of boys... probably because not only are they the sweetest boys around but I think my mom knew as soon as we got there I'd suddenly have 7 body guards! hahaha And that is exactly what happened! Those boys were very protective of us 3 girls and it was very good!
Another car load met us down there later that night too and we all just walked along the strip dancing and singing! I'm pretty sure we were the only ones not drinking which means we're also probably the only ones who can remember how much fun we had!! We watched an Evil Knievel jump from an amazing view... then entertained the drunk people with our mormon style dancing! And I'm happy to say I rang in the New Year with some of my favorite people!!! It was a blast!! We stayed in Vegas that night then after a not so quick brunch at Denny's we headed back to Salt Lake the next day! I love making memories like these! And now I have a new year to make even more! Vegas was a blast my body guards kept me safe and now I'm just looking forward to that Mexican Cruise in March!!! Yippeee!! I love my life! And no I don't think there's such a thing as playing too much! I'm just living it up while I can! Happy New Year!!!!
