Christmas Morning

This Christmas Morning was one to remember!  I never imagined we'd be in a position we needed the help that we needed this year. We've never had big Christmases, there are simply not needed. This years was plenty in gifts and in love. The service on our behalf has forever changed us. I have never been more touched then to see the support around us come together in our time of need.

 

The kids were so darn excited when they walked into the living room. My dear friend Heidi had gotten the kids a Guinea Pig.. our first pet! They named him Gus Gus Wiggle Pants! They are all smitten... so are me and Seth surprisingly. Santa and the Saints also brought glow pets, toy golf clubs, remote control cars, baby doll stroller & new blankets. Their laughter and excitement drowned out any stress we had been feeling and we truly felt the love of those around us and our Savior and just enjoyed the day with our kids!

 

 Shay was absolutely hilarious. She opened up her doll stroller and fell in LOVE. She put her new dolly and new dog in it and just kept piling in whatever she opened, hats, crowns, necklaces... she would basically scream if you tried to help her stack it or if things didn't fit. Such a diva. It was so fun to see her old enough for girl things:) Mason and Aiden were so overjoyed at some of the things that had prayed so hard for... (I know I tried to teach them Christmas gifts isn't necessarily something we pray for but they continued:) The faces were so sweet and would hug their boxes! Seth and I just sat there in completely gratitude!

 

We try to always celebrate and focus on the true meaning of Christmas however this year it came alive for us. To be loved and serviced was overwhelming. I am so grateful for my Heavenly father who not only sends his Saints but also his LOVE!

The Lords Angels

 

This isn't something I wanted to write down or even share however it's apart of our life and that is what our blog is for. Also I think the sweet tender mercy's of the Lord need to be recorded so we never forgot how blessed we've been this season!

 

 So bare with me for just a moment... A month ago Seth lost his job, I did not see it coming and it turned our world upside down. It was right before the holidays and beyond that, having a home and three beautiful children to take care of the stress, pressure, worry and overload of emotion set in intensely! Then the Lord sent his angels... More than we deserve. They have come in the form of family members, our children's birthfamily, neighbors, my dearest friends, ward member and anonymous saints. They have come through with support, advice, love, encouragement and a Christmas for my kids that they will never forgot. I refused most of it feeling humiliated but the Savior than helped me feel more love than humiliation can touch. I look under my tree tonight and it will be the largest Christmas my kids have ever had and will ever have again.. and quite frankly larger than they need. But it's more than the gifts it's the love I feel in that room when I see different wrappings from different saints in our life. The support and genuine love we have felt has truly changed who we are. Pardon my post, I'm simply so filled with emotion and gratitude that I need to say THANK YOU to each and every one of you. I am beyond grateful for the support system we have. We are so very blessed. It is so hard being in a place you didn't expect and don't plan on being very long but having those around you put there arms around you as a direct instrument in the lords hands, it changes you, it teaches you gratitude in the most honest sense. Thank you to the sweet friends, family, neighbors and those of you I didn't have the chance to hug! I have prayed for everyone of them to be blessed in return!

 

 

 

Christmas Eve

This year for Christmas Eve we spent it at the McVea's. My sister Jamie who has always gotten along with my in-laws flawlessly joined us since Todd was working till midnight. We had a great dinner, the kids played and then later we did the nativity. It's something now that everyone is starting to have kids that we want to make a tradition. We gathered with costumes we could around the house and called it good:) Missy and Dave had their baby Lincoln two weeks ago so he was able to be baby Jesus! It was such a fun and relaxing time with family!
