YUM!

The first encounter with Oreos was a hit! The making of a lifetime fan of one of America's favorite cookies!





Wally likes to lick the cream out of the Oreo, then stack the cookie part up, or put them into a bowel and "save" his leftovers for one of his friends. Usually Alec, is the lucky friend. Poor kid.

Meet My Model

I was experimenting with hair bands and flowers for Georgia today, so she of course had to model them for me. Some of them turned out funnier than cute in a practical way, but we had a good time, and the whole thing made for some cute pictures.



She is such a little ham. She came up with this pose all by herself.


I know, this one is monstrous. It looks like she should be going to tea in Victorian times. But it is quite the fetching headdress.

The Latest Injury

Little Will is our accident prone boy. So Sunday added the newest injury to his face. We think that he fell, but no one saw it happen. He just came to me crying and bleeding from his chin. Luckily, Brady and Mandy were over, so we were able to take him in to see if it needed stitches. Thank goodness they were just able to glue it! Now I am hoping for the best with the scarring. This poor kid. Just a month ago he was jumping on the couch and hit his cheek on the table so hard he still has a bit of a black eye. We were afraid they would wonder about us at the hospital with traces of so many recent cuts and bumps so evident on his face! Now I am just hoping for the best... Will making it through life and keeping that beautiful face, beautiful!

Film just doesn't do justice to how bad this black eye was. We kept trying to teach him to say, "You should see the other guy." You can still see the the cut he got on above his eye from the Halloween incident.

And, Stretch!

Georgia was checking out the vacuum, and maneuvered herself into this position. I knew that she had some flexible little legs, but she was practically doing the splits! She held it while I ran for the camera, and then got out of it with no help from me. Such a cute little rubber-legged girl!

The other day, Del was lifting weights and the boys were watching him. He told them to look how strong he was and flexed his arm. (I am sure he was partly exaggerating.) Wally then held up his arm and said," Dad, I am not as strong as you because I don't have hair on my shoulder."

He is so funny! Yup, that is Del, a big muscular, hairy guy! Some day, Wally.

New Year's Eve

We got home from our trip on New Year's Eve and got a call from Brady and Mandy telling us they were throwing together a little party. So amid jokes of all of us being lame with no plans for the big evening, we had a great time with Nathan and Lacey, and the Spencer's. We had some yummy food,(especially the cupcakes,) and games. And we ended the night with a big "Happy New Year!" (at a seven small children present appropriate,) 10:00 P.M. We had a great night. We just love our Chicago land friends! We would have no one without you! We are also completely devastated that our Brady, Mandy, Alec and Ella are leaving us for California! Booooo! It was our last hooray before the dreaded flu.

Good Friends

Del and I have both been blessed with good friends. We also both keep in touch with childhood friends from our neighborhoods. Del has known Rick and Spencer forever. They have always been camping and fishing buddies. Del has a million stories about crazy little boys climbing trees, chasing lizards and breaking arms. Now we all have kids and getting together is more entertaining than ever! I am glad Del has friends like these!

Fun Tmes With Friends and Fam!

We had such a nice time doing fun activities with family and friends while we were in Utah. Sledding, visiting, Discovery Gateway and catching up.

Holiday Update

Well, we finished our Holiday season with a bang this year. Or many little explosions is a better way to put it. Right after we got home, we got the stomach flue. Luckily, Del and Georgia were spared. I don't know what I would have done if Del had gotten it. He was our glue. Thanks for holding me together Delbs.
So,I am taking a blogging break now that I have scrubbed all the toilets, washed everything in sight, and put most of my children down for a nap. Here are some pictures from our trip. We did our own Christmas a few nights before we left. Yes, a little confusing. Thank goodness our children are so small. Santa coming while they are getting their pajamas on is easily explained away. And then, we had Christmas Eve with Del's family and Christmas Day with mine. We had a really good time. Thanks to our families. We couldn't ask for better!

Train Ride With Santa

Just before we left for our trip to Utah for Christmas, we went on a train ride with Santa in our town. Our cute neighbors, Jill, Amelia and Vicky came with us. The kids got a chance to talk to Santa and listen to the Polar Express and sing Christmas carols. It was the perfect length of time, and track, for the attention span our boys can manage, and I think this will become a yearly event!


This is the perfect picture of Will. He is always closing his eyes when he sees someone that he is wary of. Kind of like sticking your head in the sand, if you can't see the person, they don't exist. Wally was the family spokesperson.
