This is the card I did at Archivers on their Make and Take day a while back. The card below is my version that I made for the teachers in Primary at church. I made 22 of them! Whew!
One of my favorite grocery stores does a scrapbooking class. The lady who does it is a Stamping Up! Consultants. I think Stamping Up! has nice stamps. Anyway, the first 12x12 page is free and from then on it is very, very cheap.
Many, many months ago I finished this little showcase but, it had no photos on it. FINALLY, I have pictures on it and it didn't take long, even to re-glue (I had used a glue stick for it.) and add pictures to it.
Rosie did a great job with the embellishments and putting these together. They are all her doing, but this is what I came up with. Most of them are like hers, but some I messed up on and I won't tell you how but I improvised when I did.
So these are some cards that I did tonight. I find it hard to do masculine cards. You would think that after having 3 boys and a hubby I would be good at it.
I have found that in my stash I have a whole lot of girly paper. I need to re-think what I buy. I need to buy boyish paper.
These layouts are both from the "Originals" book by Jeanette R. Lynton (Close to my heart). The Father's day layout is called "Tie Back Tag." The other's are called, "Country Door."
I really like this book. It has a disk that goes along with it with templates for some of the cards and it has envelopes templates.
The letters are from various alphabets.
The tags are cut with my cuttlebug along with the circle background in some of the cards.
It's gonna be a great week because I've had a chance to enjoy a bit of card making.
It is here that I share my artwork. My artwork is sometimes inspired by me and sometimes by the work of others with a slight change.
Enjoy!
Some of the Benefits of Scrapbooking and Cardmaking for me:
It's cheaper than therapy
It is an art--a way to express myself.
It is a stress reliever. After doing a card or page I feel better able to handle what life brings.
It helps me to remember occasions in the lives of special people to me.
It helps me to journal events. It is a way to do my personal family history.
It helps me remember and think about the subject for which I am creating. If it is a person, I feel closer to them. If it is an event, like a wedding, it can strengthen my marriage by helping me remember the special moments that brought us together.
It can be extremely beautiful to look at. Uplifting! Inspiring!
I just enjoy it tremendously--in other words, it makes me smile and feel happy!
