Burkley's 1st Dance Recital

Recital Day... I can't begin to tell you how long I've dreamed about this day!
Burkley had her first dance recital on December 20th!  Our little ballerina danced her heart out and made all of us proud!
 Ready for her debut!
Look at those never ending eyelashes!

 Her little class!
 Little ballerinas with the Assistants!

Our girl knew alllllllll the moves!
Makes me so happy seeing her dance her little heart out.  I'm sure we will be adding more classes as she gets older!  This Dance Mom is already looking forward to the next recital!!!

B&B's 1st Longhorn Game

What an exciting day November 10th was for the Scott Family!  Brooks and Burkley's 1st Longhorn football game AND a surprise trip to Marble Falls for Zoe's 1st Birthday!  Our day began bright and early...Cory and I were up at 5:30 getting dressed and loading the car and we literally scooped B&B out of bed, put them on the potty, and then loaded them up.  It was a MUST that we make it to Austin in time for kickoff (it was either at 11 or 11:30).

Upon arrival, we parked at one of our favorite spots and walked on over to the bookstore to look around.  Of course, the kiddos wanted everything.
We made it over to the stadium just in time to watch the band enter the field.  I LOVE that part...must be a little bit of "band nerd" left in me!
When the Pom Pom girls made their way onto the field, several of them stopped and were flirting with Brooks and he totally gave them the cold shoulder!  It was so funny!

Daddy and Brooks cheering for our team!
LOVE this picture of my boys!
 Little Longhorn Diva!

 Praying before the game!

She entertained herself by reading the program most of the game.  She also informed us that she never wanted to go back to a game because it was tooooooooooooo long!
We decided to head out after the halftime performance so that we could head out on our next adventure...surprising the Hays Family for Zoe's 1st birthday party!  Overall, our trip was a HUGE success and Brooks and Burkley LOVED the game, loved staying in a hotel (running in the halls and jumping on the bed was probably their favorite...it's the little things, right?!?!?), and being able to spend some much needed time with our dear friends.

Catching Up

Okay, I don't think I will EVER be able to catch up on a year's worth of blogging and I hate that.  My goal for this year is to attempt to blog or post pictures on my blog at least once a week or every other week, but I'm not making any promises.  With a full time job, building a new home, raising a family, and attending grad school, there's just not a lot of extra time in the day for me to play.

On a positive note, I have officially survived my first full year of grad school with a 4.0 (with my lowest grade being a 94).   It definitely hasn't been easy...there's been a lot of tears, a lot of questioning if it's even worth it, and I've had to sacrifice a lot, but as I'm nearing the end of this crazy journey (hello summer 2013...4 classes to go), I'm realizing that it will be totally worth it and in 10 years from now, I'll be glad I did it when the kiddos were young!  Of course, I give a lot of credit to my amazing  husband, my parents, and my in laws for their encouragement along the way.  They've helped with the kiddos so that I could have time to study and complete assignments, have cooked dinner for us on multiple occasions, and have even done our laundry for us just to help out!  My classes start up again this coming Monday, so it's back to the grind!  I just keep telling myself 4 more classes (and a lot of other crazy internship activities and trainings).

Construction also began on our new home back in November!  Mother Nature has slowed us down a bit with all of the wet weather, but things are moving right along.  The kiddos are excited about their new house and ask almost daily if it's time to move in!

Hope everyone had a Happy New Year!  We have so many things to look forward to in 2013!!
