Coming in for the night, they anchor close to the beach - part of which buoys can be seen in the bottom left corner.
One of the boats is red - which is my contribution to Ruby Tuesday although I'm not officially joining the meme.

As you can see, our hotel room had a view of the building with the view of the beach.

Not the one I would wish to live in, though.
The view is of a little church on the beach, and the window belongs to an old ruin next to the hotel we stayed in (the hotel, that is, not the ruin, although the difference is hardly noticeable).

A game of cards, anyone?

I found this slightly weathered deck of cards, probably forgotten, lying on a wharf wall in Piran, a town on the Slovenian coast.

Hmmmmm...

Another full day out of town, and I'm knackered. Must have caught a cold as my head feels like it doesn't belong to me, and my nose is running like crazy. Will hopefully resume visiting tomorrow.

The town lies at the end of a wide (relatively speaking) bay and is surrounded on both sides by rocky slopes. There are a few footpaths leading along those slopes from which there are nice views of the bay.

Back

Well, I'm back from my vacation, and busy getting things in order here. Just for illustration, the pic below shows Komiža, the little town on the island of Vis where we spent almost two weeks.



There is more to come (of course) as soon as I settle properly.

Closing the Open(ing) Doors

Well, I've made it to the end although when this door posts, I'll be well on my way to an island off the Adriatic coast.
I had very little time to spare this week so found nothing spectacular for the finale. But this door to a deserted greenhouse seems kind of fitting to end the challenge.

Another day of Jientje's challenge, another door. This one leads to a church which is part of a larger complex that serves as a venue for summer festivals.



Still terribly busy with a project to complete at work before leaving, and it sucks up most of my energy. But I would like to thank you guys for all the support expressed in the comments. You rock!

A rickety wooden door to what was once probably a stable, not completely unlike the way I feel right now. It's been a hard day for me and the next few may get even harder before my well deserved holiday. So apologies for not being able to return your kind visits tonight. I may not be able to keep this meme going at all but I'll see how things develop...

I'm too busy to officially enter Mary's Ruby Tuesday this week although the picture certainly qualifies but I'm posting this in response to Jientje's Opening Doors.



Yes, it's a red shop but so what, it has lovely red door and window, and there's another door or three in this picture.

I'll be leaving for a couple of weeks in just a few days so I wondered whether to join another meme or not. But doors are an attractive theme so I have decided to try to post at least a few.
