Early Saturday afternoon in the peak of summer. Not too hot but rather humid air is stirred gently by a light breeze. The distant mountains are hardly discernible through a haze. I sit on a bench on a slope of a hill, alone, and look around. Nature is busy doing what it is want to do: bees humming gently around blossoms in search of nectar; butterflies fluttering around ditto; a green grasshopper hopping from one stalk of grass to another...
A noise interrupts my observation... ah, there, a helicopter working its way toward the mountains, its huge rotor blades cutting through the air. Just a routine flight or something more serious? A rescuing mission? I don't suppose I'll ever know for sure.
Slowly the helicopter disappears and the noise fades away. Peace returns to the hills, for a while at least.
