School is out

The kids have had a great year as North Pointe Navigators, and since we are in the process of moving to Boise the end of the school year was bittersweet to be sure.  Zach had to say goodbye to his best buddy Silas, a true kindred spirit.  Wyatt was the last kid in his class to be spotlighted, and got to go out with a kindergarten graduation ceremony.  All the boys enjoyed the field day activities.  Ms. Hermann (Ethan), Ms. Parker (Zach), and Ms. Elder (Wyatt) all made lasting impacts on the kids.  We are grateful to have been able to spend our last year here.

Sea Life Picture

Zach's 2nd grade class has been making books about each student all year. The student tells the class all about themselves and then each class member draws a picture and writes about that student. These pictures are then turned into a book for the feature student to bring home. Zach drew this picture for Maggie who happens to live down the street from us. We all (Zachary, Miss Parker, Maggie, Maggie's mom Tiffany, and myself) all thought it was a fabulous picture so Tiffany lent me the book to get a copy. His writing continued on the back..."(If she) had $1,000,000 she would buy a zoo. She has a dog and 2 frogs. Zachary".

Too old for this!

Mallory was brought to me during Relief Society today for a diaper change. When she saw me she ran over and said "Mommy, you need to change my poopie diaper". I don't think anyone could hear the teacher over her. I smiled and handed Darcy off. Then Mallory continues..."we need some wet wipes too". She is busily sorting through the diaper bag and getting all necessary supplies for our visit to the mothers room. My oh my I really need to potty train that girl.

By the way....I had some fun with her hair today.

Kindergarten Field Trip

Wyatt's class went on a field trip to Farm Country. Darcy and I came along to help. We started out in the Farm Classroom learning about what the different animals ate.Then, we went on a very bumpy wagon ride pulled by a tractor. Our guide told the kids to say YEE HA when we hit a bump. I think she was having a good time trying to find every bump in the path so that the kids could yell the whole time. The kids also got to feed a goat and pet a bunny. It was a really fun field trip.

Wyatt is six

Wyatt got to celebrate his birthday a little early and with Uncle John this year.  Wyatt is a wonderful sweet kid, which makes his fascination with weapons almost comical.  We splurged and got him a nerf sword this year, and just to be funny I stuck it down my back and into my shorts rather than wrapping it, which of course delighted him.  He's had a great year in kindergarten and is growing in leaps and bounds.  We love having him in our family!

Today

I think that Darcy is tired of wearing her brace. She has been unhappy lately unless in somebody's arms. I brought her downstairs with her baby seat so that I could have some time to update the blog. She started fussing almost immediately after being put in her chair. Then, I took her brace off of her shoes. She has been happy now for almost 10 minutes. SIGH. Six more weeks of wearing the brace all day and all night.
A cute Mallory story from this morning....I was downstairs on the computer and I hear a chair moving upstairs. I go up to find Mallory trying to climb up on the counter. I ask her what she is doing. Her response: "but I really need to find a treat". I tell her no (she has already had a couple of Starburst candies by the time I get up there), put the chair away and tell her that she needs to come downstairs with me. Her response "but I really need a treat because they are so delicious". She is a smart little girl.

Mother's Day

Mother's day is an interesting holiday to be sure.  Certainly nobody deserves a holiday more than a mother, and no mother more than Tiffini right now, seeing as how she is a single parent currently.  She has mothered 5 incredible children into this world, and is intimately involved in their progress, mental, physical, and spiritual.  And her children, despite not always showing it as well as they do on Mother's Day, love her.  I love her too, and miss her now that I can't spend each day with her, looking forward to the end of the kids school year when they can all join me in Boise.
