Gingerbread and George

During the month of December, we were able to go see a play at the local theater for children. We saw "Curious George and The Golden Meatball." Callie got dolled up. 

And here we are, waiting for George to take the stage.

The kids loved the play, and loved the cookies and juice during intermission, too!

We also made gingerbread houses to help decorate for Christmas. Maybe next year Luke can make one, too!

The kids each worked very hard on their creations and were very proud of their finished products. The kits we bought came with some red fondant, so the kids got to mold it into whatever shape they wanted. 

And, of course, the kids loved eating them after we enjoyed them for a while. 

Polar Express 2015

Last year, we discovered that local train stations were providing train rides on the "Polar Express" during the Christmas season. The kids loved it so much, we decided to do it again this year. There wasn't much snow, but it was still very fun!

We got cookies and hot chocolate, which the kiddos loved.

Santa came around and gave them all their own bells, just like the book/movie portray.

 A nice lady offered to take our picture. Our camera was acting up, so it's a bit blurry, but at least we're all there!

Luke had not been feeling well, but he still managed to have a good time for the most part!

The kids have decided that we have to make this a yearly tradition. I guess we're heading out again in 2016!

Thanksgiving 2015

This year, we hung out at home again with just our family for Thanksgiving. We got a small turkey and some Martinelli's and had a nice, relaxing day!

Mom attempted pumpkin pie and apple pie for the first time. The kids weren't really impressed, but at least the adults enjoyed it!

After filling up with food, we started a new Thanksgiving tradition- LEGO Christmas village! We started with a basic Santa's Workshop, and we'll add to it every year. The kids thought it was pretty darn cool!

Race Day

The kids and Mom signed up for a race in November. Mom ran a 5k (3.1 miles) and the kids ran a 1k (about half a mile.) 

We did some training a few times to make sure the kids could handle it!

Everyone was excited for race day!

After Mom's race was over, the kids got to give it a try. They had to run all the way up this hill! We were not anticipating a challenge like that, so they struggled a little.

The kids did very well and they were proud of themselves for finishing the race, even though they didn't win.
