Blue and Gold

It has officially been a year for us with scouts. Last year we just got to show up to the party and this year we threw it.

We set up the tables for dinner...
and the dvd player with surround sound for the movie...
Sarah arrived with the balloons!
In case you forgot what a salad looks like this is what we ate...
along with each families favorite pasta dish. We also saved room for some festive desserts.
People actually showed up which is always some good news.
Sam offered some great comic relief as the troop's Cub Master
and Bails just about broke my arm and back from forcing me to carry her around almost the entire night minus a little break when Jen took her so I could take pictures of the crew.
The banquet was short, fun and full of food, candy, and Sam's humor; it doesn't get much better than that. I am also happy to say we don't have to do that again for a whole year! Hurray!

If you give a Bails a cookie...

If you give a Bails a cookie...
she is going to love it.
In fact, she will love it so much she will be forced to lick her fingers clean.
She will then realize that she is very thirsty and grab her Mom's cup of water to half drink half backwash.
She of course will spill everywhere and make such a mess that we have to strip her down to her diaper.
Then she will remember that the only way to maintain her chunky rolls is to eat more food.
We of course we will feed her while taking a million pictures because we think she is the cutest thing in the world.
After her stomach is full she will naturally get a bath to clean up all that ick that has fallen between the fat rolls.
And then it will be off to bed until morning, when she will wake up and of course have to eat more cookies.

Third Hand...

If this little lady's tongue is not sticking out...
it is usually because her mouth is busy being her third hand.
Too many toys...so little time!
Such a hard life.

Tongue Twister...

Bailey has not learned how to talk yet, so instead whenever she wants to express her opinion out comes her little tongue.
Sometimes she is saying Yuck!
Other times it means Yummy.
Most of the time we have no idea what she is saying, even with the help of equally descriptive hand motions.
Once in a while she sticks it out there, and then we are pretty sure she forgets about it...
...because several minutes later there it is still flopping around.
Recently Bailey has learned that if she sticks out her tongue while she has food in her mouth, and then spits, she can make it so that she is not the only who has to change her shirt and wipe off her face after dinner. Naughty Naughty baby.

Little People Barn

Remember that time I decided Bailey got a ton of Christmas presents so I would save the present we got for her till her birthday because she didn't really need another toy...
well I am a sucker and I gave in all by myself without even a hint of pressure from anyone.
In my defense she absolutely loves it. You couldn't wipe away her smile if you tried.
She thought all the little animals were great...and then I put the batteries into the barn and she discovered it also made noise and I am pretty sure she fell in love.
I'm just glad she wont remember how ridiculous I sound trying to make her laugh by making all the animal noises.
I always tease Sam about being wrapped around this little baby's finger even though he tries to pretend he is going to be so tough...
...but it appears I may be the soft one. Looks like we will be shopping for her birthday after all. Sorry Sam.

Valentines Day...

This year we decided to make gifts. It sounds all exciting and romantic beforehand, but when crunch time rolls around it causes panic and ulcers. Since Sam had to work Bails and I cut out hearts and put them up after he fell dead asleep Sunday night so this is what he would make up to when he sleepily got up to get ready for work...
I was so nervous he would wake up and wonder where I was while I was getting it ready, but who am I kidding....the guy would sleep through the world ending, and if he did happen to wake up he would be so confused and not remember a thing come morning.

When he got home from work he was expecting to pick us up and head out to dinner, but instead I made his favorite...sweet and sour chicken, rice, egg rolls and a strawberry shake.
Bails was pretty excited about it too.
No long waits and hitting traffic was a nice little bonus.
We had the rest of our evening to hang out and play with this cute little biker girl...
It was a nice, relaxing day...
And even though Sam bought my wall hanging at the store he did turn the cork board into a white board and I absolutely love it.

Happy Love Day!

Little Indian Brave

For scouts tonight we talked about Native Americans. We made feather headdresses, told old wise tales, and discussed why scouts and native americans have a lot in common.
Sam wanted to paint their faces with war paint, but I chickened out. The last thing I need is a bunch of mom's coming to yell at me.
I still haven't decided if Sam really truly just knows way too much information about everything on earth...or if he is the best faker in town.
But heck, if it gets me out of having to answer all the weird questions 8-10 year olds come up with then fake away.

Nine Months

Length: 27.9 in...65%
Weight: 19 lbs 11 oz...65%
Head Circumference: 46 cm...90%

-Attempts to crawl, but then gets frustrated and cries until one of us takes pity and scoops her up or hands her what she wants.
-Loves to dance. You play music and she will start rocking out. I guess she got a little bit of dancing Dana in her.
she gets her moves from her Dad...
-Those dang bottom teeth finally came in a few weeks ago so the count is currently at 4 with a few more possibly on the way.
-Can turn the lights off if you are patient enough to stand there and wait for her to finally get around to doing it.
-With the exception of sick/teething nights she is a good little sleeper. From around 8:30 or 9 ish at night. Gets up at 6ish in the morning and eats and is back down till 8:30 or 9.
-Loves to say da da da da da. It is her favorite. Unfortunately ma ma ma ma is not. Lucky Sam.
-Gives me plenty of tight hugs and kisses (more like sucks on my cheeks). Sam usually only gets hugs when someone other than me tries to hold her. Guess you have to take them when you can get them.
-Shy Shy Shy.
-Has started eating puff cereal and baby cookies and she is in heaven.
-Can stand relatively well as long as you stand her up. She can only pull herself up when she is sitting on her car.
-Loves toys. Loves them more if they play annoying songs she can dance to.
-Is starting to lose her chubby rolls. Not so much that we can get shoes over her chubby feet and cankles, but the creases aren't as prominent as they once were.
-Despite the chubbiness she is still the most flexible thing you have ever seen.
-Is starting to giggle a ton. I knew she would think Sam was funny eventually because lets be honest, who doesn't?
-Loves to read books. She also loves to hit herself in the head with books. Maybe she is working out a new method of getting information to stick in her brain?
-Is vicious with electronics. Managed to soak my cell phone battery with enough spit to make it not turn on. Also pulls the keys off the computer keyboard and gets me in trouble.
-Can wave hello and goodbye. Whether she chooses to do it when you ask her to is another story.
We love you Bailey Boopers!
