So sweet...

When Sam came home for lunch today, a rare treat I always look forward to, he was complaining about how hungry he was. I asked him why he was so hungry (after all it was only a little after 1 and he never complains of hunger that early) to which he responded, I've only had a weight loss shake and a doughnut today.

Feeling bad, I started to go make lunch, and then stopped and asked where he got a doughnut from. He proceeded to tell me at work he was a little late driving the shuttle to pick up this older lady, who sat bundled outside in the freezing cold, crying. When she got into the van Sam asked her what happened. She told him that another mentally ill adult had gotten upset about the shuttle being late and had stormed off right after calling her a mean name. She asked Sam if she really was that bad word, to which Sam replied, "No...do you like doughnuts? I think you have had a rough morning and need one."

So sweet, huh? That is what I thought at first until I asked Sam: wait, did you get her a doughnut to be nice and cheer her up, or did you use her misfortune as an excuse to get yourself a special treat?

Sam's response: everyone does stuff for one reason or another. Usually helping people gets you blessings from heaven, but I just really wanted a maple bar.

Happy Sumo Tales

You know its going to be an awesome day when you get a text from a co-worker saying they can't pick up your shift because you are no longer employed and therefore have no shifts to pick up.

Surprise! I guess a doctors note excusing you from your no show shift because of a small stumble down the stairs while doing laundry resulting in a pulled stomach muscle is no longer acceptable.

Happy Sumo, I hate you!

It was an accident...

This is what I found when trying to grab a cookbook to make some banana muffins....

Are you freaking kidding me?
He told me it was "an accident" and then promised it was the only surprise I would find in the kitchen that day.

In his defense this could accidentally happen to anyone, right? Wrong.

Chocolate Chocolate Chocolate

My entire life I have never been a huge fan of chocolate. I liked it and I would eat it and I would even go as far as to say I enjoyed it, but it was never anything I would seek out or crave. That is until Bailey started growing inside my body.
And now, lucky for Sam, I am obsessed with chocolate and crave it constantly. So when I went to Costco and saw these large delicious ripe strawberries my first thought was I need to dip these in chocolate.
And then we proceeded to dip everything else we could find into the little dipper full of chocolate.
Can you tell what I dipped and what Sam did? Sam did all the gross ugly ones, but at least they still tasted good :)

Back to Boise...

We couldn't stay away for too long. After Christmas we returned to Utah to work for a week and then it was back to Idaho on New Years Day.

Sam spent the weekend battling Superman...
...and making faces in the mirror with Will...
...that is when he wasn't busy helping Will win hide and go seek.
We did have a spare growing in my stomach that we were willing to use as a replacement if anything were to go terribly wrong. Luckily, the exchange was not necessary.

I spent the weekend spelling...
feeding the baby...
And hanging out while Sam was hard at work interviewing his brains out.

Oh, I did do one more thing. I managed to spill orange jello jigglers all over Jana's kitchen as we prepared for the Fiesta Bowl Party. It was quite the sticky mess. Thank goodness for Mr. Clean sponges otherwise the Izatt counter tops would still be orange.

The whole gang enthralled with the game...
It was a lot more fun than our expressions may indicate...
..BSU seems to always make the games interesting!
Of course when your little there's nothing more entertaining than a balloon and an uncle to hit it in the air for you over, and over, and over again.
Thanks for letting us come visit two weekends in a row!
