Thanksgiving by the numbers.

(This is me not complaining.)

For Thanksgiving break, my true love shared with me

one Coleman air mattress,
two broken cars
three children on antibiotics
four kids snoozing in sleeping bags
five hundred miles (to drive twice)
six thousand family history snippets

I was going to continue with the little spoof, but my brain's not quite up to it. Read on if you'd like more details....

thirty-three people in one house
two people with influenza (Andy and me)
two broken down cars (ours, in the shop while we traveled in a very kind family member's car)
six teams geo-caching
50 (or so) deer wandering the neighborhood
Nature and Science museum (kids)
The Muppets movie (kids -- while Andy and I were lost in our fevered, flu stupor)
A traditional Thanksgiving turkey dinner
much wrangling to get a photo of the whole fam-damily
17 Miracles (the movie)
14000 foot mountains
a trillion beautiful stars on the way home

My Super Powers, well at least three of them

Oh how I love a list with bullet points!

• I am a great speller. Seriously. 3 of my 4 kids are in school. So far, none of them have inherited this talent from me. They're awesome in other ways though.
• Regeneration -- mostly things like warts, moles and toe nails. They grow back--even when doctors tell me that they will not grow back. I hope that if I ever lose a very important body part that it will also grow back. Actually, I hope I never need to wish that.
• I forget lyrics to songs and also who sings them. But, as soon as the music plays, I magically remember and I sing along. It's as if I have early-onset dementia that is cured as soon as the play button is pushed. A miracle, I tell you!
• I am really, really good at cleaning. But I hate to do it.

Whoops--I said three. That last one there is a bonus. Counting probably isn't one of my super powers.
