Upstairs! Finally.

K guys! I've been learning some new things about photography, and I'm hoping to learn lots more.  My focus has been home photos, and since I haven't shown you all the pretty parts of my current home here are some of upstairs! I hope you can see a few improvements in my picture taking skills although I am absolutely a beginner and have a lot to learn.

 This is Grayson's room, It looks just about the same as the last, only it's bigger and I didn't have to do any of the work. ;)

 Here is sweet Vivian's princess bed, she just keeps growing you guys.  I'm ready for her to stop for like a week, and then continue.  She and Grayson have finally started to tell each other "I love you"  of course it is ended with "monster Vivian", or Grayson will not say it. AlsoNotice the awesome built-ins behind the door.

 Our bedroom is essentially the same, just a more reasonable size, now I'm pretty sure I've mentioned before that this house is a whole bunch like our last house right?  It is, just better.

 Our master bathroom, I like it a whole bunch, it is pretty and light and bright and I didn't have to do anything to make it that way! Oh and the closet back there is awesome sauce.

             My pole/scrapbooking/whatever I want it to be room! Very important stuff here.

The kids bathroom.  This room is the only room I feel like the builder tried to make some price cuts in, but it is still a great bathroom and one day when these kiddos can actually reach the super tall sinks they will each have their own space

Last, but not least the "bonus room" over the garage that is a perfectly usable size is our TV/toy room. I seriously love this house now if it cleaned itself and could move with us wherever we go it would be perfect.

 Also my humans are pretty fantastic and they
bring so much joy into our lives I can hardly
express my love for them.  This move may have
been scary and overwhelming to start, but so
very rewarding as well.  Our family has grown
so much ion such a short time.

 

 

Main Level Tour

I'll be honest if it wasn't the laundry room that sold me it was the kitchen.  I took these pictures a couple weeks ago as my before images. Not that I plan on any major house projects happening, I do plan on lots of furniture and decor updates while I'm in this house.

When you walk into this house, it is light, bright, and airy.  It isn't cold even with all the white. I know many people struggle with that, but the dark warm wood floors keep it grounded.  

Our view from the kitchen is our dining room is into our large family room, one day we will attempt to collect furniture that fits in here, for now we use what we have. 

We actually bought some new dining furniture that will come mid June, I'm crazy excited for.  My awesome Ikea set (as pictured) has done great, but the chairs can no longer be reinforced and I worry about the day they disintegrate.  Okay only two are *that* bad, but still we move on.  Because of this we found this awesome rug!  I feel so adult actually having a large area rug, I'm not sure why but that is the feeling I get...

In the back we once again have a huge yard, but have given up our awesome amount of concrete. Now, however, we are lucky enough to have a covered patio, and can have our birds greet us in the kitchen each morning!
 *I took these photos about a month ago so many things have already changed, and many more still will!
One day I will go upstairs too, but for the moment this is as far as I've taken pictures.

Since the day we moved in and the day we moved out everything was covered in snow, it is impossible to see the amazing difference there is on the outside, but I'll show you some in-between as well. 

Living Room

 We painted, replaced the carpets and added window treatments to this room

Dining Room

In the dining room we added wainscoting, paint, and new flooring.

 Through the back and front entry we painted, and replaced the doors and floors and baseboards.  The tile was so broken and some were not even hooked down anymore.  If we had stayed in the house we would have repainted the main color to probably a light blue or gray, but we knew we were moving, so it stayed.
 

 The Kitchen

 

 

In the kitchen we replaced the floors, pulled out the broken swinging bar seats, replaced the back of the cabinets, replaced the counters, painted the cabinets,  replaced the appliances, installed hardware, and of course painted the walls (a couple of times).

Painted the pantry door that always looked dirty no matter how clean I got it.

 Painted and re-carpeted the family room, fixed the fireplace, and installed a fan for fireplace.

Vivian's Room

We replaced the chair rail, painted, re-carpeted, and installed window coverings.  I had the crib and changing table a light blue when Grayson was a baby, and lavender for Viv.  I loved the sweet little nursery. 

Master Bedroom

 This room was GIGANTIC, it was ridiculous, and I loved it.  We painted and re-carpeted in here.

Grayson's Room

 Again paint and re-carpeted, and of course I still love the bed I built him.

 Master Bathroom

This space was in some serious trouble and so we tore out all of the tile and started over, made the door to the shower larger as well as added lighting.  Added a step to get in the giant garden tub, painted the cabinet, added hardware, replaced the counter, sink, and faucet, as well as painted of course.

Kids Bathroom

 I painted all the things, added hardware and had it re-tiled.

 We replaced the floor, installed a cabinet, sink, and faucet, painted, framed the mirror, and installed hardware.


Somehow I don't have any before pictures of the office, however I'm sure you can imagine, dirty white walls, filthy light carpet then this...

 Out back

    Outside, we installed crazy amounts of cement along the back, side, and even out front. Planted an obscene amount of plants, curbing, and the trees, built planter boxes, put in gravel, got a shed, built a deck, fixed the dilapidated sprinklers and nursed the grass back to being grass rather than weeds.
    Our sweet home in Syracuse has gone through major changes in the short six years we lived there and I'm sure it has quite the adventure ahead of it.  I have loved this beautiful home, and I am in love with my new home as well.  We are so very blessed, and I am excited for our new adventure.
