Teacher in the making...

I`m not going to lie I have the cutest little girl in the world! Brooklyn has been setting up her own little circle time with her dolls and animals.
Sometimes Jackson and I are invited too
On days like these, I just LOVE being a mommy!

Family of FOUR

Ryan and I finally feel like we are finally settled into the swing of things and we are enjoying our little family. Jackson is such a relaxed baby and an AMAZING sleeper which we know is a HUGE blessing. Brooklyn is doing really well with all of the changes and continues to get smarter and cuter every  day. Our house is organized again, it's bright and sunny outside, and life is just GOOD.

Computer Savvy

This afternoon I walked in and saw this...
She is not even two and she knows how to start a word document...
Seriously, how do kids know how to do these things?!

Out and About

This past week my mom was up visiting and helping and it was so fun to be out and about again.
We enjoyed the sunshine
Did some baking
Went out on the town :)
And just enjoyed each others company
It was so nice. Now I face the reality of having two kiddos to take care of all by myself. I am so thankful for my-mother-in-law who helped us the first bumpy week, for Ryan of course who was home with me the first two weeks, and my mother who was able to come up to help out and play with us. Wish me luck! :)

LOVE

Well after a rough first week, our little angel is back to herself and she can't get enough of her little brother.

I'm not going to lie this melts my heart and makes me SO HAPPY!
It almost makes up for this...
We knew she would start climbing out eventually, we just didn't want it to be the third night home from the hospital. She loves her big girl bed and we would too if she didn't also decide to start waking up 3-4 times a night. But oh well, we LOVE our TWO healthy beautiful kiddies!

Birth Story

Our little man has arrived and yes he is PERFECT! Eeee we just love him so much.
Here is the birth story for those who may be interested, but mainly for myself...
The morning before he was born I woke up with a contraction and I thought it was a little odd, but I didn't think anything of it. Throughout the day I had a lot of random contractions which I passed off as braxton hicks. With Brooklyn my water broke hours before my contractions stared so I knew it was the real deal, this time I wasn`t sure.
I took Brooklyn to strong start, ran errands, made dinner, and got ready for bed. Ryan left for work around 11pm and at 1:00 in the morning I started timing my contractions and I knew our baby was coming. I called Ryan at 3:00 to tell him to come home and surprisingly he was home by 3:30 :). We waited for my contractions to get a little closer and then we called the midwife around 5:00 (my contractions were consistently 5min and then 3min, 5min then 3min) , after answering what felt like 100 questions she said she would get ready and then come and check me. Ryan dropped Brooklyn off at his sisters and then came back home.
In the mean time the midwife called back and said she would rather meet me at the hospital since I had a short (6 hr) labor with Brooklyn. I readily agreed my contractions had become more intense. Ryan and I set off for the hospital ,which was another new experience for me, last time I was in an ambulance, and I felt like I was in a movie getting upset as Ryan made a wrong turn.
We made it to the hospital and I had another first, having to go through the ER. The lady handed me a cup and told me to pee in it and then meet my midwife in the exam room. I remember I was really upset and thinking why in the world do I need to do this, I am having a BABY! I semi waddled to the bathroom and after no success gave up and met with the midwife. She continued to ask more questions, but I really just wanted her to check me, I knew I was ready. She finally did and was surprised I was already fully dilated. I thought to myself I know, now lets go.
I was set up in my room around 7:00 and I had no urge to push so I didn`t. I just kind of relaxed and breathed through my contractions, I was already so tired from the lack of sleep. After a little while my midwife told me that I should get up and try to pee because it had been a long time and an empty bladder would make it easier. I got up and went to the bathroom and I couldn`t pee, but I swore the baby was going to come out in the toilet!
She had me quickly come back and then she broke my water and things began to speed up. I ended up having him on my side which was a really weird feeling. It hurt a lot and at one point I wondered what it would have felt like if I would have had drugs. But oh well I still don`t know. He finally started to come out and I remember thinking holy cow isn`t he out yet! He is a pretty average size, but he was a pond and a half heavier and 3 inches longer than Brooklyn was. Overall it went well and pretty smooth, I liked our midwife and our nurse and the nurse in training were also amazing. I am just so glad he is out and here safe and sound! I think he is just so handsome!
My mother-in-law Laurie came over from the island to help out and she was able to come visit us at the hospital. And Ryan also went and picked up Brooklyn so she could meet her new little brother. We were in the hospital for just over 12 hours and then we got to bring our new little love home.

Baby Shower

My friend Letitia threw me a baby shower this past week and it was so much fun. We played baby bottle bowling, 52 toy pick up, and they played bingo as I opened gifts. It was such a great night with great people yummy food, and an amazing cake. I am so thankful for all the people who are helping us prepare for our little man. Brooklyn is too, she is already enjoying the perks of having extra toys to play with. :)
Less than two weeks to go!

The Potty

I haven't started potty training Brooklyn yet, but we do have a little seat that fits on top of the toilet and this past week she has been obsessed with it. Whenever I have to use the bathroom or we just walk past it, she wants to have a turn on the potty. This is good I know, she is definitely interested, but I am finding it a little annoying popping her on the toilet all the time and her not really using it. Haha she does look pretty cute on it though. And I think it is funny how she always wants to use the toilet paper. :)
PS. I love her curly hair right after she wakes up! It makes me so happy, she takes after her mama :)

Daddies Stain

Oh my goodness tonight I had a hard time putting Brooklyn to bed because I was laughing so hard. Ryan came in to read Brooklyn a story and say goodnight and Brooklyn discovered that daddies shirt had a big blue spot on it.
She couldn't ignore it, she had the most concerned look on her face and she kept pointing and trying to clean it off with her bear and her blanket. She was a little chatterbox in a worried tone, I wish I knew what she was trying to say. It was seriously SO funny, she was so concerned about daddies shirt. She didn't stop until Ryan convinced her I could fix it. :)  I love having such a sympathetic little girl.
