It has been a little busy in the Hunt house lately!
With a 2 month old baby,
an 18 month old toddler,
a husband in law school,
a new calling that I am trying to get organized in,
remodeling my bathroom,
a 6 day stay in the hospital followed by 2 weeks of recovery,
preparing our taxes,
setting up shop and doing hair at the house,
and working my "butt" off (literally) to get back into shape.
I just haven't had time to sit down and blog about ANYTHING!
and, as always, I have SO much to say.
But before these numbers become obsolete I figured I better post them.
Hayden and Carter went in for their 2month and 18month check-ups
So here are the stats.
Hayden Jayne
weight: 24lbs (35%)
height: 33in. (75%)
head: 18in. (25%)
This girl is staying par for the course. I think these have been her percentiles since she was born.
Except for her head of course,
which has stayed below the 10th percentile until now!
Hayden is such a funny kid.
She is starting to move into a shy phase,
Which i'm sure is my fault by keeping her couped up with me and Carter for the last 2 months, she hasn't had much socializing.
But when we are at home, she is still just the same little goof ball.
Hayden loves:
- carter
- laughing (will laugh at anything)
- jumping
- hiding
- spinning (her ULTIMATE favorite thing!)
she will spin and spin, until she is so dizzy she falls
down laughing, then jumps up and does it again.
- music
- bath time
- baking with mom
(now she can actually help, mix, stir, and pour ingredients)
- watching "special treat" while they cook
she will even bring over her toys
to sit in front of the oven with her.
- going in the car (anywhere!)
- shoes (particularly boots / galoshes)
- hair bows
(she has to have at least one, usually more, everyday)
- dancing
- singing / action songs
her favorites are popcorn popping,
my hands, patty cake, snowman.
she can actually do all the actions,
and she REALLY tries to sing along.
- toys
babies, puppies, play food,
anything that she can stack (blocks, rings, cups),
magnet letters.
- swaddling
everything HAS to be swaddled;
from babies in blankets,
to bath toys in washcloths,
and puppies in dishrags.
- animals
- climbing
on the couches, ottoman anything short enough for her to try.
- backing up
I don't understand this one but she LOVES walking backwards
- going on the potty
but only pee, the poops must scare her because she sits
on the potty and holds them in.
- food
- milk
- naptime / bedtime
- jack (her kitty)
- talking on the phone
- give hugs and kisses (she is super affectionate)
- playing in the snow / going outside
- brushing and flossing her teeth.
- putting on perfume and deodorant (pretend)
Hayden hates:
- going in the car (when she knows we are going home)
- white potatoes (so far the ONLY thing she won't eat)
- when you put her toys away wrong
she is totally OCD about her toys,
everything is organized into plastic baggies
because she doesn't like them to mix,
and it freaks her out if you don't put them
in the right bag or the right place.
- changing her babies' clothes
one has to stay naked,
the other has to have 2-3 outfits on layered.
- coke (i'm sure she'll grow out of it, it's in her blood to love it)
- t.v. (she STILL won't sit and watch it)
- when mom is on the computer
Hayden says:
momma, daddy, carcar (carter), kiei (kitty), dut (duck), ibbo (hippo), wash, num a num (food), milk, home, side (outside), baby, more, mow (mouth), head, air (hair), dose (nose), eeee (ear), these, peas (please), tak ooh (thank you), pee pee, poops, cheese, ball, bow, shoes, boots, yes, no, burr, cold, hot, book, toa (toast), nana, poppa, uh-oh, pee-u, stinky, bowl, nana (banana)
Hayden does:
- point to body parts
head, hair, neck, back, chest, belly, bum, legs, knees,
feet, toes, fingers, arms, armpit, elbow, hands, eyes, ears,
nose, mouth, tongue, teeth, chin, cheeks, forehead,
shoulders.
- animal sounds
favorites are: elephant, giraffe, dog, cat, bear,
tiger/lion, duck, monkey/gorilla, snake.
- reads books by herself
by "read" I mean sit and turn the pages while talking jiberish.
- stacks
her rings on the cone in order.
her nesting cups/blocks so they fit inside each other.
her nesting blocks on top of each other 10 high.
- throw a ball
- kick a ball
- talk on the phone
- put her shoes on (slip on ones)
- coloring
- play cars (she has really cute girl cars)
- sit and play FOREVER studying a toy, trying to figure it out.
- cleaning
again with the OCD, if there is a hair or a crumb
anywhere she will point and squeal until it gets picked up.
if anything spills, even a drop,
she will run and get a dishtowel and wipe it up.
This girl is so sweet, funny, and smart,
and I LOVE every minute of being her mom.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Carter
weight: 16lbs (103%)
height: 23in. (50%)
head: 16in. (50%)
Needless to say, this boy is a monster!
I couldn't believe even after loosing nearly 1lb
in the hospital he still came in at 103%!
What can I say, he is a boob man! (What boy isn't?)
Carter loves to talk, and talk and talk!
He is our little chatterbox,
he cracks us up with all of his squealing
and funny little noises.
(I don't think Hayden was ever so creative.)
He loves to laugh,
and this past week has exploded with a very
manly hearty belly laugh.
It is so contagious and I absolutely love it.
Carter loves:
- watching hayden
- talking to mom & dad
- his hands
- playing on his floor pad
- swatting at, yelling at, and giving "the eye" to his toys.
- staring at / talking to the t.v.
- watching us eat
- his swing
- being swaddled
- mom singing to him
("Teach Me to Walk in the Light" is his favorite)
- bathtime
- being on his changing pad
Carter hates:
- binkis
- bottles
- snow / rain / wind
- tummy time
- his carseat
(this is hit or miss, but most the time he hates it)
His "loves" list is much longer
than his "hates" list, as i'm sure you noticed.
He is THE happiest baby.
Even in the middle of the night,
if he wakes up he will just lay there
and talk to himself until he falls back asleep.
During his naps I have to keep checking on him
because he will wake up and just lay there patiently
waiting and hanging out.
He is so sweet, and doesn't fuss
unless
I am late getting him down for bed/nap,
or late feeding him or make him ride in the car.
He is such a little flirt and a complete momma's boy.
He is such a joyful,
easy baby,
and I am so grateful to have such a wonderful,
sweet spirit to watch over.
