We've had so much rain this Spring that we haven't had many chances to go camping. It get too hot and humid to do much camping in the summer, so we squeezed in a couple camping trips with our camping buddies, the Putnams. We went up to Roaring River in Missouri for a quick over night.

We had wonderful river sounds to keep us company. It was beautiful. There is also a fish hatchery there that we wondered around. Lots of ponds with fish, not so many guard rails. Nerve racking!

There was a great hike overlooking the hatchery. We hiked it just at dusk. It was beautiful!

Mike is having fun playing with his new camera. I wish I could post all of the nature and kids pics but there are seriously hundreds. I'll try to get them in an album online to you can view them if you want to.
The next weekend was Memorial Day weekend. We decided to attempt the 4 day camping trip. Our last minute decision had us scrambling to find an available campsite, and we came across one on Beaver Lake that we took a chance on. For the most part, it was great!

There was bug catching, bubble blowing, hiking, swimming in the pool, hangin' at the play ground, trying to find some afternoon shade, lots of camp fire fun (Thanks to Mike, the pyro!) and playing in the lake. Super fun! And we only had to pull one tick out of Reese's back... good times!
