A Gift from Africa

In December I signed up on my sister-in-law Allison's Blog to play a "Pay it Forward" game. I have really enjoyed playing this game and had fun when I paid it forward to three of my blogging buddies. Allison went to Africa on a medical mission later that month, so she got her pay it forward players gifts from Africa. I received my gift this past week. I have really enjoyed reading her posts that journal her trip. It is really nice to have this bag that was made in one of the villages she was in. Thanks Allison

The kindness of strangers.

Today was not just the usual busy day. We had an appointment to get family photos of the kids. The last time we did this was Christmas '06 and it has taken me this long to work up the courage to try again.LOL Needless to say I was a little keyed up,(noticed I did not say stressed out)thank goodness Mike was home to keep me calm. We dressed everyone, listened to our two teenage girls complain that they did not look good, and loaded everyone in the van. I have compassion for the photographer because on the sheet it says she has a family of six children to photograph but then she finds out that several of those six wonderful children are not going to cooperate very well. I have to say I was so impressed, the photographer took our crew in stride and did an excellent job with the pictures. Our first picture was of all six kids together, then the two boys together, and then all the girls together. The pictures will be ready next Friday and I will post them as soon as I can.

The reason for the title of this post happens next. We decided to take the kids out to dinner. This does not happen very often as our crew can be a handful and we do not get Jacob and Hannah out much in the winter due to their health. We got to the resturant and had a nice meal. Hannah was great and Jacob was a little restless but was pretty good. At the end of our meal the waitress came to our table and asked if there was anything else we would like and we said no thanks. She then told us whenever you are ready you can leave because the gentleman who was sitting behind us had already paid our bill. Instictivly we turned our heads to thank him and she said he left about 5 minutes ago. My heart was so touched to be the receivers of this random act of kindess. So tonight as we say our prayers we will pray that he will know that his act of kindness touched our hearts and will not be forgotten.

Let the Games Begin

This is a fun blogging game my sister-in-law Allison posted and I replied to so I am paying it forward. The first 3 people to make a comment to this post will receive a small gift with the promise that they would continue to pay it forward. If you would like to participate, here are the rules.
THE RULES: The focus of this is to do an act of kindness without expecting anything in return other than the recipient will, in their turn, pass the kindness along and "pay it forward."I will send a small gift to the first 3 bloggers who post a comment on this entry. In turn, those three will post this information and the game will continue!! The little something you send can be something you made, bought, were given or found, anything you want!! Just a gift that will make the person's day!!
If you are interested in participating, simply be one of the first 3 bloggers to leave a comment!! You have to promise that you will then post about this on your blog, link back to me, and then send something to the first three people who sign up to play along through your blog. Doesn't this sound like fun!!??

This game is not limited to the Christmas Season.
