The twins are here

Early in the morning on February 14th I went into labor.  I was 35 1/2 wks pregnant. You would think after four previous pregnancies that I would not doubt myself when I go into labor, but I did.  I sat around for an hour trying to figure out if this was really it. But then I was pretty sure that at least one of the waters broke.  So I called my sister Rachel at 4:30 am and asked her if she could come over and stay with the kids until grandma Debbie could make it up.  Riley and I then loaded up in the car for the 45 min. drive.  I was planning on having a c-section, but when we got to the hospital I was already at an 8 and I knew both boys were in the right position, so I just decided to have them natural.   Everything went really well.  Holden came first and 6:56 am at 5 lb 5 oz and 19" long.   Kaden came an hour later at 8:00 am.  He weighed 4lbs 12 oz and was 19" long.  They had to stay in the NICU for 3 days, but it was more for precautionary  reasons more than anything.  They are now 2 weeks old today and doing great.  We know we were really blessed that they were so healthy for being more than a month early.

Expecting 5 and 6

I finally got around to updating my blog. Besides all of the fun summer stuff that has been going on, we have some other fun news.  We are expecting a couple of new babies in March.  Yes, a couple, we are having twin boys.  I just had my ultrasound, they look healthy and strong so far.  I didn't find out about the twins until I was 16 weeks, so we have had a few weeks to let it sink in.  And now I know why I looked so pregnant so fast.

RSL game

Our town's Club soccer team went to the REAL Salt Lake game.  Spencer's team was able to play on the field during halftime.  It was really fun.

South Carolina Sept. 2011

Our family went on a vacation to Folley Beach, South Carolina in September.  We absolutely loved the beaches.  Hannah and Sarah loved playing in the sand.  Macy, Spencer and Riley had fun trying out the surfing.  All of the kids had fun searching the beach for shells.

Summer 2011 real quick

summer started off  busy with swimming lessons for Hannah. I don't have pictures of Macy and Spencer, but they had soccer, volleyball and basketball camps.  Plus we have a couple of little family  vacations that I don't have pictures of.  I don't know what my problem is, but I just don't take pictures like I used to.
of course we were on the boat as much as we could be, which sadly wasn't as much as previous summers.  The weather was crap until July and then Macy and Spencer were busy with this and that.
While I was running Ragnar Riley took the kids camping for a night.  What a good dad.

Macy turned 11 in June.  She had a combined swimming party with one of her friends who's bday is a couple of days before Macy's.  They had a great time.
Hannah fulfilled one of our goals that we set for her at the beginning of the summer.  She learned how to swim.  This is at grandma Marcia's house back in July.  The kids all helped her learn how to dive.
Sarah was awesome with her floaties.  She was swimming all over the pool.
Hannah had her 5th bday in August.
Rachel and Brandon's wedding was on Hannah's bday, so we went to Chuck -e cheese a couple of days before.  She had the best time.

At the close of summer Hannah started her first day of Kindergarten.  They all had to bring teddy bears because they were going on a bear hunt.  So far she loves school.

The Grand Canyon

On our way back from AZ we decided to take a few hours and stop over at the Grand Canyon.  We went on a little hike and enjoyed the beautiful surroundings.  It was the first time for the family except for me, but it has been probably 25 years since the last time I've been there. WOW that makes me sound really old.

Spring Break 2011

In April we went down to AZ to visit grandma Marcia and Gary.  It was so nice getting out of the cold of UT.  We spent a lot of time at the pool.  We also went to the Zoo, Diamond back baseball game, Diary of a wimpy kid2 movie, and a ghost town.  We had a lot of fun.
