Crime scene created by Troubletown

We have campers here this week. The parents' left Belle and Trouble here while they are out of town...and they took Aunt Sue with them!!! I got to stay home and baby-sit.

I found this crime scene one day. Alfred's mom sent us this cute little octopus for the pugs a few years ago and Trouble decided to rip it apart and pull the stuffings out of it. Poor little octo is now a flat octo!

Here is the Trouble aka Troubletown...she is very sweet but likes to try to escape the yard. I don't take my eyes off of her outside. She is constantly looking for a hole in the fence or somewhere to make an escape. Sometimes she has to wear a cone from the vet's office if she wants to stay outside for a length of time at the parents' house because she has dug many a hole to escape.

SHOULDN'T THERE BE . . . . .

...A LAW AGAINST FRIED PICKLES?

photos of the weekend

Shannon at Bless Your Heart is having her photo blogging days this past weekend ... I didn't take pictures every two hours, but I did take some over Friday and Saturday. So here they are...

I woke up Friday and started working...a lot of my work involves court cases in South Carolina. I have really started enjoying reading books where the stories take place in South Carolina. I'm reading South of Broad right now, which takes place in Charleston.

Aunt Sue and I had lunch at Red Robin. Yummy!

Then we went to our favorite bakery and got these petit fours. Yummy!

We then went to Michael's and I got some items and took pictures of some floral arrangements...so springy right now.

Then we went to the local seafood market...always a treat to go in here and see what they have available and smell fresh bread baking in the deli/grocery area.

More of the fish market.

more of the fish.

Saturday, the habitat for humanity store came and picked up some items that we had that were in good shape that we thought they might could resell.

Saturday morning, I started a pork butt slow cooking in the oven for five hours. It turned out pretty good. I brined it first in salt/sugar/liquid smoke water for a couple of hours. Then put a dry rub with mustard on the outside. I had the meat dept. cut the butt in half longways so more of the meat got the crust on it. It was pretty good. the husband liked it a lot but I love real wood smoked BBQ..which is not so easy to find anymore.

I made a shrimp dinner using the shrimp that I bought at the seafood market.

And here are the pugs...we have campers this week at our house. I'll try to get a picture of them soon.
