recent day at the beach

Aunt Sue and I went out to the beach the day after Chichi passed away just to get out for a little bit. It was a beautiful day...and hot, too. It's even hotter this week.

Pretty new beach house in a lavender color. Notice the air conditioning unit up high on the right-hand side of the house. So when it floods, it might not reach up there??

These doors are so pretty. Looks like they came off an old house.

waterfall at the putt-putt golf.

Popular site.

A boat waiting out in the intercoastal waterway.

Wouldn't it be nice to have these steps into the water?

Walkway to the steps. This used to be a lot where someone's house used to sit until the hurricane took it apart.

My favorite patty melt at Sidelines at the beach.

Jaws

Thank you all for the nice compliments on my new hairdo. I'm enjoying it so far. It was strange to wash it the first time because I am so used to taking longer getting the shampoo out of the long hair.

This is the typical Florida souvenir store by the beach. This one sits aross from the hair salon where I got my hair cut. I took this picture while sitting in the waiting area. Do you see the Jaws that you walk through? A scene or two in Jaws 2 was filmed at Navarre Beach...it actually says Gulf Islands National Seashore on the Internet Movie Data Base. But this is right on the highway before you cross over the bridge to Navarre Beach.

This couple were taking pictures underneath the Jaws!

Aunt Sue has seen all the Jaws movies many, many, many times and she knows the lines before they are said. She told me last night she was looking to see if Jaws was on TV anywhere! I don't understand wanting to watch something so scary.

the boys are growing

Nephew and wife's boys are growing and getting stronger and are now able to stay together in the same bed thingy in the hospital. They sure are sweet!

No more long hair!

I decided to get my hair cut and give my ponytail to Locks of Love. They need 10 inches minimum to be able to help make a wig so Jackie cut about 13 inches. I was a bit scared about getting so much hair cut but I really like it. The husband liked it and so did Aunt Sue. I know my mama will like it for sure! It is so short, I can't get it in a ponytail now!

Here is my hair before I left to get it cut.

Me holding the ponytail after it was cut.

Back on my hair now!

My new hairdo!

This is the ponytail and now I have to pack it up and send it to Locks of Love!

Sugar and Baxterman glad mama's home

mamas home from sandyknight and Vimeo.
I loved this book. The story takes place over 24 hours. The main character goes home to her grandmother's funeral in South Carolina after spending many years living away and running away from things in her past. It is a great story of forgiveness and the power of prayer. This is the same author of the "Savannah" books. The fly on the cover....Baxterman was trying to bite it! It looks real!

I had my nails painted in this tangerine color! It's really a pretty color if you don't mind not matching your nail color to your colors...because my body does not need to wear anything "orange" or I might be mistaken for the GREAT PUMPKIN!
