It's Blogger Parade of Homes Week 6.
Shannon is looking for our bedrooms.
I have never really decorated our bedrooms. I have ideas but never follow through on them. I refuse to spend a lot of money on bedding, comforters and I hang very few pictures. Maybe one day I will...
When we bought this house it was listed as a four bedroom house. One of the rooms does not have a closet so I think that it might not "legally" be a four bedroom. But here are the two rooms that we use as bedrooms.
This is the guest bedroom/the husband's room. This is a wrought iron bed that belonged to my grandmother and I inherited. It was black before I painted it white.

This is a fleur-de-lys design on the bed. I could not think of a way to make them stand out without being too much so I just left them white.

This dresser belonged to my grandmother, too. I love it. It is tiger oak wood. The husband has loaded it up with books and stuff and I have to clear it off every year.

This is the master bedroom. I really like the white distressed furniture. Since my bathroom is so small, I bought a lingere chest from
Ballard Designs and put it in the bedroom to keep some bathroom things in. You can't see it in this picture.

The quilt on the bed is about to fall to pieces. It gets washed on average twice a week, sometimes more. The doggies sleep on the bed so I refuse to buy a new bedspread until this one does fall apart. I have a nice quilt with palms on it inside the chest at the end of the bed. I only put it on when we have a party (3 times in 6 years) and someone might see the bedroom. I should have put it on before I took this picture but I didn't. You all get to see the everyday quilt. I bought some lamp shades from Target that are just plain white and I took the paint that we put on the walls and painted stripes on the lamp shades.
