The label quickly got overwhelmed, not all the mail orders got shipped ( Somewhere, in the recess of time 17 year old me is still sitting in Alabama, waiting) and the label collapsed. But in Buying the collection there were way more copies of "AVARICE" than the store could handle and since I released the COP releases, they allowed me to buy a handful of them. I've just been sitting on them. Of all the Christ On Parade releases, "Avarice" was always hard to find. I have a bunch of records to put out this year, so am continuing some house cleaning and am selling these together with a copy of COP "lIve and Loud". These copies of "Avarice" were stored in a closet and the covers aren't mint, have a hint of aging and don't have inserts, but the vinyl is mint and I'll make Xerox of the insert from my original copy. The Covers of the copies are printed, but on thinner paper than my original cardstock copy. You get the 7" and your choice of an LP or CD, and whatever else I can throw in. We have some pretty exciting news about something with one of the members of COP to share later. Classic 1980’s teenage thrash, the band was a constant, encouraging presence in the Birmingham punk scene for nearly three decades, opening shows for the MEAT PUPPETS, GBH, LIFE SENTENCE, MAGGOT SANDWICH, THE ACCUSED, and many more. KNOCKABOUTS "Angry Young Men" LP is the first comprehensive collection of the Legendary Huntsville, Alabama 1980's hardcore band. The Knockabouts started in 1981, early for hardcore anywhere in the world, and combined a rush of GANG GREEN-styled thrash with the occasional off beat quirky innovative track influenced by Bad Brains, Gang of Four or the other experiments in making definition, instead of reading and copying one. They released one demo tape " Angry Young Men / Aggressive Isolation" based off one studio session in 1983 and a live set, and went in and out of line ups before playing a final Show opening for SAMHAIN at Glenn's request in Birmingham on May 23rd, 1986 on the "November Coming Fire" Tour. The A-side is from the original Sound Cell Session that the Prank "On Suffering Remembered" 7" were taken from but includes the entire session, the B-Side "Boom Box Nightmare" is a re-mastered and cleaned up sound quality collection of Practice tapes, live versions and alternate recordings, so released for the first time. The label Nikt Nic Nie Wie - the first Polish independent label that, since its inception in 1989, has had an immense impact on the distribution of punk music in Poland Naturally, Smierc's third album is also being released through them. For this release the label has collaborated with San Francisco-based Prank Records, a label that has been releasing Japanese and European punk for nearly 30 years and has actively supported the DIY culture that is so important to the punk scene. Smier's third album is titled Opór; a word that translates to 'resistance. The listener is taken on a journey that begins in a collective grief. This sorrow often grows into a murmur; a slow, subdued mumble. A murmur that increases into higher voices. Voices that become a collective roar, turning into a resistance that demands the outside world to stop and to take notice. The music and the now multilingual lyrics have been woven together in an attempt to create a stream of consciousness. Here we begin by collectively cleaning the walls from the latest kitchen fight. We go through the injustices of the world, question ourselves, confront our past, honor those who came before us and perhaps, just perhaps, we can cautiously approach a common future. The album was recorded and mixed at The Dustward together with Stefan Brändström in the spring of 2024. The four cuts on this release evoke that marching melancholy present in the early stages of 80's Yugoslavian HC - punk bands like QUOD MASSACRE and NIET, but backed up with the punchiness of U.B.R., a dose of Finnish HC darkness, the bitterness of Polish bands like TZN XENNA and the vibe of local 80's bands that were strongly influenced by the 2nd wave of UK punk. The band managed to reach the point where rawness meets the melody and topped it with expressive vocals and plenty of hooks. Its first Vinyl release was in 1999 on Prank, Pressed at Alberti Records. The original plating was lost in the collapse of Alberti and it was pressed again in 2003 on White vinyl at Rainbo records. We finally were able to reissue this album from the original (second) plating at RTI in 2020 / 2021. One of the most rampaging Swedish Punk albums, it affirmed the band's template of Dbeat hardcore that they continued challenged and re-imagined for another decade and a half of releases, and inspired a legions of bands worldwide. That Said, it's near friggin' impossible to fault the incredibly awesome cover of Mexico /LA's SIN RITMO 7" EP which features a punked out, chain wielding, Johnny Blaze-esque spirit of vengeance in front of a neon orange, cobwebbed brick wall, bordered by a stylized and barbed wire band logo. The most striking thing is the choices and energy of which it's colored, which pops specs of white like it was filled in with dayglo highlight markers. This is a really fun Cover with a similar interior fold out poster that comes printed on newsprint that already feels aged . Musically, The overwhelming feeling of this 7 track Ep is the more experimental edge of 80's Italian hardcore, Like CCCP's caged vocals and mechanical attack or closer on the dart board, the frantic energy of I REFUSE IT where the vocals are sung/ shouted slightly above the chaos.
