cuteness!

Callie Beth loves playing peek-a-boo.  She plays it with everything…blankets, her hands, my hands, walls, chairs, etc.

Our friend, Tia (who watched Callie Beth three days a week) sent me this picture a few weeks ago.  She figured out how the four-wheeler worked!

photo She really enjoys it and we were looking to get some outside toys for the summer since she is obsessed with being outdoors.  Here she is enjoying her first four wheeler!  She needs a little help with steering, but she will get there :)

The best part of my day is putting Callie Beth to bed.  We have so much fun when she gets out of the tub.  Her laughter is one of the best sounds!

Tricks

Callie Beth is changing so much.  Her vocabulary is growing daily.  I’ve been meaning to get these on video and finally did!  Enjoy :)

Callie Beth is OBSESSED with bubbles!  She goes around the house calling for them.  She enjoys the bubbles but she mostly wants to put the wand in her mouth.

This is just too cute!  She says it all the time but mostly when she drops something.  It makes me wonder when she says it and I don’t see what she has done.  hmmmm…..

She started this right around her first birthday.  Love her!

Righty or Lefty?

I was REALLY excited when I came across this bat and ball set shopping the other day.  I just had to purchase it.  I didn’t know what she would do with it.  I pictured the bat being used to hit the furniture, the walls, people, etc.  But it is small AND padded so I knew it wouldn’t cause too much damage.  Jake showed her how the bat was used to hit the ball.  She actually tries to hit the ball!  She holds it and swings at it or she throws it and tries to hit it.  She isn’t very good yet :)  The bat then turns into a golf club with her hitting the ball on the ground.  So proud…ha ha!

Although it is too early to tell if she will be a righty or lefty, first picture she has the bat in her right hand, and the second in the left.  Which do you think?  Lefty like Jake or Righty like me?

As many of you know, a 14 month olds attention span is not very long.  When she was finished with the ball and bat, off to the trampoline it is.  She loves this thing!  She now has this little routine she does.  She jumps a few times with this crazy face and then stops to shake her hips a little.  Then, back to jumping.  I will try to get it on video soon!

Yea Sunshine!

Today was a beautiful day!  We started out washing and waxing the cars (which turned into Jake doing the cars and me chasing the little one around.)  She thought the bucket of soapy water was quite interesting and had to play in it.  She loved trying to help her Dad wash the cars.

As you can see, her head is all healed.  There is a little scar but will lighten up.  I can’t believe how fast it healed!

Bed Head

I have mentioned and posted about my child’s crazy sleeping habits.  Well, here is how so woke up the other day.  What on Earth was she doing to cause this??  Interesting :)

Happy Mother’s Day!

I wanted to wish everyone a Happy Mother’s Day!  I had a great day!  I got to sleep in which was wonderful.  Jake’s parents came over for breakfast that Jake cooked for us.   Jake and Callie Beth got me a beautiful Chamilia bracelet and charms.  This may not sound very exciting, but we then spent the rest of the day cleaning (where I had tons of help) and then relaxing.  AND, there were no accidents (see below). It couldn’t have been better.

I am so lucky to be Callie Beth’s mom.  She is an amazing little girl.  I couldn’t wait to become a Mom but I really didn’t know how rewarding it would be. I couldn’t imagine life without her.  Each day I am surprised because I love her more and more.

Callie Beth has had a rough last few days.  Thursday, she woke up with a nice little scratch on her nose.  Friday, she woke up with a mini black eye.  What is happening in her crib?  Then, Friday afternoon, she had shots.  Jake ripped of one of her band-aids in the tub.  Boy, she didn’t like that!!!  Plus, this last molar is not treating her well.

Yesterday we had a cookout with some friends (and all their kids).  We had a busy day running errands, preparing, and then with company.

If that wasn’t enough…here comes more: Callie Beth had mastered our deck steps awhile ago.  We always watch her but I guess not as close as we should have been because she does so well.  She got a little too confident in herself and tried to go down different ways.  I was finishing up some stuff inside and Jake was out raking.  He was a few feet away and she missed the last step, did a little spin and landed face first on the walk way.  I understand it happens but was upset with him.  Well, later in the night, the same thing happened again.  I was helping her, I looked up to answer a question and BOOM, she is face first on the walk way again.  Of course, she hit the same exact spot.  This time, it was my fault.  I was a foot away!  Talk about Mom of the year award!   Jake had fun giving me a hard time.  I feel HORRIABLE about this.  She cried for a minute and then was okay but it breaks my heart just looking at her face.

Needless to say, today was a better day!

I’m sure these are the first of many falls.  I am thankful it wasn’t a far fall and it could have been a lot worse!

Long Time

I think this is the longest I have gone without a post.  No excuses, just a busy life right now.  I am working on a graduate class for my teaching license renewal. My goal is to have it done by the time school gets out.  Callie Beth is doing pretty good.  She has two molars through.  One is about half way there and the last one is about to come through.  We are all ready for a teething break.

Her eating is changing.  She is starting to be picky.  Something she loves one day, she hates the next.  It’s a learning experience for all of us.

Sleeping Beauty

I have mentioned before how silly Callie Beth is when she sleeps.  She is all over the place. She almost always has to have something on her face or smooched into something.  It took me awhile but I have learned to just deal with it.  If you take the covers off, she puts them back on.  And, she HAS to have that little blankie!  Here are some of the ways she sleeps.

Dancing with Daddy

For me to say Callie Beth LOVES music would be an understatement.  As soon as she hears it, she dances.  I love it!  She also loves to dance with her Daddy.  She is just so happy with him.  Can you say Daddy’s girl?  I hope they are always like this together.  Here is what I captured today:
