Busy doing nothing

I struggled with the start of this book, not knowing where the plot was heading, then everything twisted and became interesting, I guessed who done it by the middle of the book, the reveal was given with a quarter of the book left. The final sections of the book were brilliant, with a final twist. This is the second book I have read by this author and he is excellent at misleading in plain sight. Book 74 read this year.

I am reading off my Kindle apt, so another book by the same author, another very different plot, what happens when your husband disappear, how do you cope, what's happened to him, this book follows both of them, definitely not a who done it, not my favourite book of his. Book 75 read this year.

  My soft trainers were looking shabby, they are pale pink and show every mark, I have washed them a few times they are 4 years old, I looked at my favourite site, https://www.clarksoutlet.co.uk/ and found some great prices, I am not keen on big solid trainers, preferring softer styles. As the site implies these are the end of line items, so now was the best time to find lighter weight summer styles, I regularly get Clarks shoes so I know the size I require. I can't remember the last time I paid full price for shoes, £63 for both pairs, free postage and easy to return should you require it, they fit perfectly and I'm happy. 

I have done a small sewing task on my duffle coat ready for this cooler wet weather, when I purchased it back in 2023 I was disappointed with the string and rough wooden toggles, I thought it did not match the quality of the rest of the coat, so finally I removed the string and wooden ones and replaces them, sadly the toggles are plastic, I think they look much better. The first photo is the true navy colour of the coat, I don't know why the second photo is so washed out.

We are back having homemade soups most days for lunch, hubby in the past few weeks made two batches with my tomatoes and one batch with my butternut squash, this week we have minestrone, which doesn't have any homegrown veg in, it is my favourite. We are halfway through a ginger cake, he is going to make a red velvet cake, Will's favourite, and he makes it free from dairy so both George and Molly can eat some, it's half term so we will see them a few days.  

I worked in my area behind the garage, I have emptied the leaf mulch bins, some has gone into bags for use later, both hubby and I have been collecting leaves for my two black bins, I have used the chicken straw bedding from my neighbours hens in both composters, it's dry which is necessary to make the magic work. It was lovely on Saturday, so I spent loads of time outside, Lilly was with me keeping an eye on me, I attached the climbing rose behind the garage to the chicken wire, I would like it to fill out and hide the scruffy sight behind in neighbours garden, I also cut back my climbing rose by the front of the garage, the stems were above the fence height, I have cut them back hard, which hopefully means it will bloom much lower and grow again.

It's so lovely these modern days, we only had two clocks to change from summer time, all the rest automatically change, for years we would find a clock we forgot to change, the last clock to be done is always the one in our car, we don't use it so often these days. Sunday was sunny and bright but cold, the house is warm and snug.

Rain changed play

 A quick visit to our favourite garden centre to look at spring bulbs, less variety this year, I could not resist these tulips, China Town with 7 bulbs, aren't they pretty. I have placed an online order for some other bulbs, I have been looking for different varieties. The cyclamen hubby choose, he liked the colours.

I've started my new season pots, earlier this year I moved loads of bulbs around the garden, with the knowledge I would need to purchase more for pots. I already had one cyclamen plant its very similar to the new plant, the crocus bulbs are around the plants, this is by my patio doors, the summer pot is now back in my greenhouse. 

I needed some long plastic covered metal poles for a small change around in my raspberry bed, I was really chuffed to find what I required both sizes half price all are over two meters tall. Saved just over £10 on these.

I have been busy with my sewing machine, all the hems have been stitched on Will's school trousers, the hems always fail, so I stitch the new ones and avoid the issue. I also had the blanket from our neighbours son, he is a Boy Scout, and loves his blanket, he has collected more badges from his travels, another quick task.

This book was clever, it started with 3 women's stories, building to how they link together with a good twist, how revenge turns into helping another, I loved the plot. Book 64 read this year.

We are finally having the rain the garden requires, good steady rain, we have had some rain for the last 5 days, 3 days heavy, it has stopped us going outside, I don't have much to do, I have been forming a couple small plans, which include using the poles shown above, once the raspberries have finished I want to move the blueberries in the big tub and redo the structure for the raspberries to grow up. I have removed the nets from inside the greenhouse, so the light can get in and for the first time in months I have shut the door, I have an automatic window opener, so it should be OK. 

Being inside I am getting jobs done, only little things, bits I have ignored whilst being outside in the glorious sunshine. We have finished watching Destination X and loved it, neither of us like Josh, so we were happy he had his perceived victory snatched away from him, I have also been watching Fortune Hotel, I did not watch the first series, and I'm still unsure about it, hubby did not enjoy it at all. We both love Sewing Bee, again there are some talented people, we refuse to watch Masterchef, I have never liked Greg Wallace, but liked John Torode and felt uncomfortable with how he was treated. Soon it will be Bake off and Strickly, I'm watching The Inheritance with Rob Rinder, new on channel 4, I do like him and of course Traitors, Ireland and celebrities.

Treats

 This was a bargain at £2.50 from our local pet shop, there are 2 different colours of coleus in one pot, I have separated them, they are fast growers. I also took a cutting of the bigger lighter one, it will root quickly in water.

My strawberries are doing well, popping the green berries into the net bags have protected them from bugs, they are a nice size and very sweet, I have loads more which will ripen very soon. We rarely buy soft fruit from supermarkets, we try and eat fruit and veg only when in season, preferring farm shops. 

Hubby baked a cake, Victoria Sandwich with both butter cream and jam, that's our treat for the next few days. It's lovely and light, he has baked a seeded loaf as well.

In an effort to do more, I baked two quiches, one with cheese the other without, hubby does not eat cheese, I've use the same recipe for years, 4ozs of flour, half a pint of milk, 4 eggs and whatever ingredients you want to add, I added bacon, mushrooms, tomatoes and onion, cook for 40mins in med oven. No pastry, the 'batter' mix sets, it's very light and very tasty.

This book is 25 of his column's from The Sunday Times, each is short and too the point, as well as all his silly ideas, he also speaks of the hurdles farmers have to go through, how local councils and various government departments put up barriers. He never forgets he has various incomes which support the farm, which most farmers don't have, working to help local suppliers to try and obtain better prices for their produce. A quick easy read, book 42 read this year.

This is a new author to me, and a different style of writing, I did enjoy the story, I guessed the plot very early on, which did not spoil anything, other than the big reveal was a damp squid. I'm not sure if I would read another of her books, book 43 read this year.

I'm feeling a bit better, I'm still struggling to do things, we had planned a trip to IKEA in Southampton on Friday which I put off, for no real reason, we will plan to go in a couple of weeks after the school half term. I have tried to motivate myself, there is nothing I can do outside, just water the greenhouse and check the last of my seedlings. 

This wet cooler weather is great for the garden, not enough rain to fill my water buts, at least they are no longer empty, the blustery winds are causing a few issues, I have tied up plants, nothing has blown over yet. I'm stuck inside, planning to sort behind the garage, I will have some unexpected space this week.

Lilly is in and out the catflap like a yoyo, she loves her freedom, still spending most of her time in our garden, she does wander, going along the back fence of our nice neighbours, there is a lovely cat a couple houses up, she does not jump on the fence with our horrible neighbour, there are often foxes in there, so we are happy she keeps out.

Village life

 Once a month our village has an artisan market, we completely forgot it was on, not so busy here at 9.30am, but very busy through the day. So nice to see so many different stalls, our butcher set up a BBQ and the tap house had seats outside as did the pub at the other end. We did get a few bits, chutney, marmalade and local honey.

My sweet-peas and roses are starting to bloom, along with my fleabane daisies, add a couple acer leaves, it's only a small posy, it's a promise of more to come. I am hoping to have a summer of sweet peas and daises. 

Like alot of husbands mine is a tech geek, he has our washing machine apt on his phone, we have Alexa who turns on plugs, lights and our bedroom fan, at first I was not sure, but it is handy to be able to control things by your voice or phone. We have always had separate calanders, I prefer seeing mine, old fashioned hung on the wall, where I can glance every day, hubby uses the Google calender on his phone. So when he saw this electronic display calendar which links to your phone, he was hooked, to be honest I am happy to use my phone apt, it's handy to have it with me, but I am extremely happy to have a display as well. We each have a diary, as does the house and a separate birthday list all colour coded. 

Last year I subscribed to Kitchen Garden magazine, it's primarily about growing fruit and veg, whilst I did not use all the free seeds, there were so many packs I did use, I passed the rest onto a local school. I enjoyed reading the monthly tips, but decided one year was enough, I received an email with the offer below, which is so good, so from June I will receive my monthly magazine and seeds.

I've not been reading too much, this is a clever book, you know what is happening, you know who did it, until you don't, a great twist at the end. Book 40 read this year.

This weekend was our local gardener plant sale, I got loads of plants from him last year, they are all re-growing again, I did not go, I don't have much space in my flower beds, he raises monies for a local charity. I still have too many plants and will start sharing them locally.

Sunday we had Molly and Will, mummy took George to a party, afterwards George and Molly played outside, I keep suntan lotion here, and they both know they need to wear it. I do love to hear laughter in our home.

It's been a quiet few days, we rarely go anywhere at weekends, hubby was supposed to go to a veterans meeting, but at the last moment decided to stay at home, it was in Windsor, he has changed the hotel booking, now going in June, we will have a couple of days away together. 

We have a busy week ahead, most of the work being done by others, I'm excited to get things done and finished, we have no big plans for the rest of the year. 

January round-up

 No spending on craft, nothing needed, I have been reading, I did get one pack of seeds for my garden, £10 spent on clothes and got a new pair of slippers. 

I have read 11 books this month, average 2 per week, I'm missing my garden. 

I finished off a great set of bargains this month, back in November I saw my favourite perfume at a good price at Superdrug, plus a offer of 4 points for every pound spent, I got the perfume and £20 in points on my card (hubby gave me the perfume as my Christmas gift), then my second favourite perfume was half price £30, so I got a bottle, used my points and paid only £10. Both bottles will last me all year. 

We have used £12.50 of Tesco vouchers, most of hubby's £50 Co-op gift card, and his blue light card 10% off the cost of our slippers, the customer in front of us used his card, so we did the same.

We got two radiator fans for the house, we are now much warmer even turned the temperature down one degree, we have changed our broadband and now have a saving each month with better download speeds. I have also changed my mobile phone provider, again making a saving. Our new phones were expensive, not the latest models, but over the next 24 months we will be making savings, plus we had a good price for our old phones, we are both loving the improved cameras. 

We have been nibbling through our Christmas foods, no waste, we did finish our Christmas cake, we both love rich fruit cake. We are eating out of our freezers, both were full, now we can see some space.

My weight recorded at the start of the month was higher than I wanted, but not as high as it has been in previous years, I was 7 pounds heavier in 2020 and 2018. I have since 2014 made a note of my weight on Jan 1st each year, 2016 and 2021 were my lightest starts to the year. My aim is to get rid of the extra pounds before the spring arrives, in truth I will be happy not to put on any more weight.  

This week

Sunday I marzipan the cakes, I'm really late this year, I had planned to do them last week, I also made holly wreaths for the top of two, my daughter prefers her left plain, the other smaller cake has thinner marzipan layer, my brother does not like it too thick, when did they all become so fussy. I will ice them on Friday and colour some icing red for berries.

  

Monday my brother arrived, he brought some sweet tree decorations, he made them with his 3D printer, he also brought a set for daughter and children's tree. Later I went to Will's school concert held at a local church, it was packed, loads of people, the children did well, but it was running very late daughter had to leave before the end to get George, so Will and I walked back to his house. Will had a reading which he did clearly, so proud of him.

My first amaryllis has opened, I got it from Lidl already planted in this glass, it's flowering a bit early, behind in the paperwhite daffodils, they are a disappointment, I did not have the best glass pot, and hoped they would thrive. I have another new amaryllis bulb which is growing only leaves this year.

We popped to our favourite garden centre,  I managed to get a plastic rake to help clean up fallen leaves on our fake grass, whilst there I saw their bulbs were 75% off, I was good and only got one pack. They feel nice and firm, I have a pot for them.

Tuesday we went to pets at home to get bits for our kitten Lilly, ensuring she has the same food as daughter is feeding her, we also got a cat scratching post, it was expensive so a lovely young man at the till asked if we all had the apt, my brother did not so they signed him up, found loads of discounts and saved us almost £20, brilliant result. I'm not sure if we will bring Lilly home next week, both daughter and I think she should stay with her mum for a week or two more.

I managed an hour outside, finally cutting back the late raspberry canes, there were a few berries still growing, I also cut back plants growing over the edge of the flowerbeds, everywhere is looking tidy, I still need to change the water in our large dish, it has an oily skin on it where the wood pigeons bathe, we were going to pack it away, but the birds use it daily. A pile of leaves has been collected all from recent storms, all we do now is keep the feeders full and watch the birds, we are having a hawk visiting, it sits on our fence and watches next door bird table, it's after the small pigeons.

Bargains

 Friday I met a friend for lunch, we visited Stokes bay, it has a long flat pebble beach, the land across the water is the Isle of Wright, the water, The Solent is always very busy, we had a lovely walk and chat, we have not seen each other for a while, so it was good to catch up. 

Hubby got a grass for his front garden, the agreement was he would bear the cost, but I would be allowed to separate a small piece for my pond area. The deep root planters have a price of £10.99, in the 75% off sale, I paid £2.74, a bargain and useful as I didn't have enough this past spring. 

I wrote in my last blog about gardening gloves and got a couple of comments, I have worn these 'workman's' gloves from B&Q for a couple of years, they are not water proof, they are tough and thin enough not to hinder in any way. I purchased 3 pairs in May 2022, I keep one pair in the greenhouse the other two I use everyday. When they get too dirty, I wear them, squirt a bit of washing up liquid and wash my hands with them on, they always come back good. This is not a paid advert, just me saying what great gloves they are, if you want to get some, look in the electrical tool section at B&Q. The Traffi brand are very expensive and I truly can't say they are better quality, I would think they are both the same.

We popped to our favourite garden centre, a few weeks ago we got a reed diffuser, a refill and a candle, all lemon smelling for our downstairs bathroom, they were half price but still expensive, we both loved the smell and popped back to see if they had anymore. This time they were 75% off, we managed to get another candle and two refills, hubby went online and got another diffuser at full price, on the whole we have saved loads and our home smells wonderful, we have diffusers in both bathrooms and the two candles in our sitting room.

Hubby was looking at the grasses and stated he would like to change his front garden corner, it has loads of conifers, not trees, low shrubs, some are getting a bit ropey looking (his words). One I can use in my back garden, so he is sorting and then going shopping for more decorative grasses, he wants some taller ones, he is growing more to his front beds.

I was asked how the Shark vacuum cleaner was performing against my old Dyson, hubby and I have had a few chats, the Dyson had more brushes for different areas, it felt lighter, and the brush section was easier to manoeuvre. The Shark is quieter, it feels as if it picks up better, but that could just be my Dyson was old, I don't have a decent brush for the stairs, the feature which allows the arm to bend I won't use and the lights on the brush is unnecessary. Both are easy empty, the filters are easy to get at for cleaning, I don't regret getting the Shark, it was much cheaper than a replacement Dyson.

Keeping busy

I got this book from a local charity shop a few weeks ago, I have not read this author before, I did enjoy the story line, very simple, was the death of a friend staged 6 years ago, is he still alive, it flowed, twist and turned, I did guess a few of the turns, the plot kept me interested until the very end. I would happily read another of his books, book 59 read this year.

I have read most of Lingwood Barclay books, so I was pleased to find this one at local library. I love how his storylines are always so very different, just changing the angle completely changes to story being told, could you believe your wife would get into a car drunk, he is very good at twisting stories together, this was just brilliant and the twist at the end I did not see coming. Book 60 read this year.

  

Another grandson finishing his first year at school, Will has grown so much, not just in height, he has loved every bit of school from learning to making new friends, he is happily looking forward to his new class and teacher. 

I've not looked at our 'too good to go' scheme for a while, it got very popular and was always sold out at the BP garage with M&S food store. They now have loads of other local shops including our local Co-op, so I am going to start checking regularly again. 

I have been stitching small flowers, just 7 hexagons, but decided I wanted something different for the centre front of my cover, so I made this bigger design, I kept it simple, hopefully it will stand out from the other hexagons which are brighter and more colourful. 

I will get out the lining (made in robin material) and start to measure how many smaller flowers I will need. I have purchased some interfacing to iron onto the back of the hexagons, just to add strength, I don't have a quilting foot for my sewing machine, so the extra strength will help. I have got some pale lilac tape to bind the edges, it should all work together. I am feeling very positive about this project, determined to get it done, I am loving the hand stitching of the hexagons, I have hand stitched every stage of this project.

The rain on Friday morning was lovely, but no where near enough, it did save me having to water later, I had loads of dead heading to do. I also dug out the big cucumber in the greenhouse, the heat had killed it off, I do have a second smaller plant with loads of tiny cucumbers on. It felt much cooler all day, I was inside most of the time sewing, I had the best nights sleep in days.

I've had a late lazy start to today, hubby is out most of the day, so I've plenty of time to do just as I wish. Few plans, hour in the garden, Sewing and reading, just a peaceful day with both cats. 

Quiet time

 Another brilliant book, this one given to me by a friend, I do like Miriam, she is honest and funny, she swears like a trooper. She has had a very interesting life, and talks about the same issues as most of us get as we age, book 49 read this year.

Bored at home Sunday afternoon, so I got my shorter distance lens out, I am really pleased with the mixture of flowers in the garden. Hubby's favourite lens has broken, he has had it fixed once before, so to save money, I have given him one of mine, I can keep using my shorter lens, he like distance photography, I like close up and macro. We both have the same camera, so we can easily swap lens. 

Our Olive tree is full of blooms again, it is planted in a huge pot, I am just so pleased it thrives, I did give it a good feed of special food last month, can't wait for the Olives to form again. 

I got a pair of this brand of gloves in early May, and have used them each time I work in the garden, they are really flexible and very tough, I had been looking for garden gloves like this for a while. These are on sale in B&Q, at £3 a pair, they are workman gloves, and found with the tools, this is just my thoughts, I'm not being paid, I think they are perfect for my needs. 

It's been a nothing few days, we popped to B&Q, I wanted some plant pot wheels, passed on theirs to big and expensive, I looked through the plants, most looked half dead, normally in our local branch they are well looked after. Hubby got new sink taps for the downstairs bathroom, ours are very tight. Homebargains was close-by, so we popped in for a few household items, I got a small plant to fill a gap. 

I have dug out my Hosta's, one is in a copper coal bucket, the other is in a galvanised bucket, both helps deter the slugs and snails, this year both plants have been ate, just stalks left, so I dug them out, in hope I have cleared away any slug or snail eggs in the soil, I have also cleaned the slate as well, so fingers crossed next year they will survive.

I've picked my second cucumber and there are loads more, tomatoes are not doing so well, one plant died, second plant not setting flowers. Eating loads of strawberries and just a few raspberries. Herbs are really happy in their new pots and I'm harvesting loads. 

I did get my sewing machine out, I added another big fabric badge to hubby's motorbike jacket and I cut down a pair of Will's joggers to shorts, cutting off the ripped knee's, he put them on and did not want to take off, I have a couple of school joggers to cut down for the summer weeks ahead. I've not done any of my knitting, just too lazy, not started a new book yet, but I have been to library and have 6 more books. 

Daughter stayed the highest scoring lady on the archery last Saturday at the Gala, she was thrilled, I am sure once the children are older she will join the local club. 

A new year, same old me

 I've started my 3rd Luna rabbit, I had a bright idea to felt the inner ear, the pink felt is not as natural as the brown felt, it did not work, but worth a try. It's my first time at trying needle felting. 

I have joined the Luna Lupin little world Facebook page (thanks to Rachel and have already ordered some tiny shoes), I have also found another book I own can be used for clothes, the designs are knitted, so more fun. These animals are very addictive, but I'm sure Molly will love playing with them. 

I have this lovely 100grms of 4ply, from last Christmas, and I can't decide what to use it for, socks comes to mind, but I have loads of handknitted pairs. This is so soft, and I would like to use it, any idea's. It's shades of brown and red, Robin inspired and far too nice to be left in my stash. 

I have found out all my needle felting stuff, I purchased a couple years ago, I am ready to try and make animals, the colour balls of wool I got from Hobbycraft a while ago in their sale, and the bigger hank is from a hand dyer who I often buy yarn from. I have a couple simple kits to try, so plenty to practice with.

The tree and all decorations were packed away last Thursday, Friday I was able to give the house a good clean, not that it was dirty. We stayed up much later than expected on Friday night, the local fireworks were very loud, our cats were not happy, I sat with them until it became quiet outside and they could settle. Saturday we had a big family roast, with George sat at the table with us and Molly in the high chair, not that Molly is eating our food yet. 

I managed to purchase all the Christmas cards for next Christmas, I got them at our local independent shop at half price, I will take that as a double win. The only other bargain was 2 Christmas puddings at half price, one ate on new years day and the other one stored for later in the year, we realised on boxing day we had not purchased a pudding. Clever hubby got a part for my floor steamer and now it's working perfectly again, just a few pounds and it's sorted, hopefully to last a few more years. 

Normally I would be thinking about changes we are making this year, but there is very little to change, we are happy with our lifestyle, little waste, low spend, comfortable life. I now have my government pension, and we are going to build our savings, a few expensive items need replacing this year, we can do that through out the year. Only focus is weight, yes it's the same every year, smaller portions, walk more, so I don't need to record details here. 

December round up

Be warned this is my boring post, loads of spreadsheets and stuff. 

I only spend a small amount this month, items to make the dice, December is always a low spending month. 

I did spend more on clothes this year, but my spend is so low I am not worried, I don't impulse purchase anything any more, making everything last longer. Total spend this year £275.34. I did not spend any money on cut flowers, only £36.97 on Christmas ornaments and hardly anything on books. I have purchased loads of good Christmas cards at half price, I will pack them away with our decorations. 

We did not realise our TV was not compatible with our satellite dish, so we have had to replace it with an ariel, costly again, but the picture and sound are now perfect on the TV. No other big cost. Our heating has been on more, it has been very cold, our boiler was changed a couple of years ago and with the new windows, we do have a warm house. 

My end of year stash spend, I did not get below £1000, which is £83.33 per month, but I did spend less than the last 3 years, included in this was 2 bigger spends for the garden totalling, £245. I'm happy with this last year, I have been using up much of my stash on many crafts, giving me less spend here and more money in my pocket. 

This list shows what crafts I am spending on, they change as I change, I won't get any more glass fusion or card making, once I have used my stock I will no longer do these crafts, I have enjoyed both, but I no longer get the fun from them. 

In the garden I have my composter set up and a large black dustbin full of leaves in hope of making leaf mulch, our council have stopped collecting the garden waste bags, you now need to buy a wheelie bin and pay for collections, which I decided to opt out of, we did not have space for another bin in the front of our house, and I feel strongly about having to pay to have garden waste collected, the council sell the collected material on to be made into compost, so why should we pay for the service. We have considered asking to replace both our council bins with slimmer ones, but as yet not made any decisions, our bins are only ever half full on collection day. The cost of my composter and black bin will be recovered in the savings in under 2 years. 

My weight at the end of this year is more than I wanted, but I'm not a heavy as I was 2 years ago, so I will take it as a win. Hubby and I will slip back into losing weigh in January, but I do need to walk more, hence the purchase of an expensive Fitbit.

New project.

I have loads of colours in my stash, lots of odd balls, I have used this yarn on many projects, it's soft and I find it does not itch my skin, I have an allergy to Lanolin, which is found in most sheep fleece and therefore yarn.  So rather than sit looking at my phone, I thought I would knit. 

I have made this scarf 4 times before, it's a very simple design, and knits up quickly, I'm not sure if I will keep this for myself or use it as a Christmas gift. I was not wanting to knit another warm jumper, I made 2 last year, along with a warm cardigan. There is no point knitting for hubby, he does not feel the cold and would not wear anything so warm. 

I am sewing in the ends as I am knitting, it's a task I don't like , so it's best not to leave them all to the end of the project. 

I was given a pile of books and this was one of them, I loved A Touch of Frost on the TV, David Janson played a wonderful character, but in this book Frost is much more gritter, and I don't think I liked him as much. He swore and was very condescending to all around him,  a proper worn down copper, I won't look for another book. This being my 32nd read this year.  

Sunday night I managed to get another too good to go bag from our local M&S store, so for £4 we got, breakfast for both of us, lunch for both of us, and a main meal for me, some of the lunch we used for a second day, and a couple packs of wraps, which we love, daughter had one of the packs of wraps. Again we are really pleased with the contents. 

The rain has stopped for a few days, I am so glad we are not in a flood area, all the water soaks into the ground and is gone quickly. The breeze has done a bit of damage, nothing to bad, loads of leaves everywhere. There has been so much heavy rain this summer, normally I am worried about water levels at this time of year, all my water butts are full and the garden won't need a water for a week, my pots will need doing in a few days.

The weekend was quiet, we stayed at home and did nothing, far to wet to be outside, Friday we did stop for coffee and cake in the village, just to get out of the house and see different faces. I did manage to clean through the house, everywhere was really dusty, hubby did all the laundry. 

Monday was another stay at home, it was dry all day, the sun came out later, but again it was very breezy, a good day to read, I did pop to Lidl for a top up shop. Tuesday was blue skies when we got up, nice to see the sun again, daughter came with Will, George and Molly, we had a lazy day at home, it was nice to be able to play in the garden, our fake grass is perfect in this weather, layered with hardcore, grit and then sand all the water drains, never any wet spots. I did not meet with the sign ladies, preferring nanna duties. 

Today is another day at home, I have things to do in the garden and greenhouse, nothing heavy, just enough to keep me busy, 2 nice mornings in a row, I am blessed.
