SSQSG- August

I'm back again with another post

of our last meeting of SSQSG this month.

Phew, I'm on current now.

There are a lot,

I mean many many pictures on this post.

Are you all ready?

We have all the members back in town

after a few meetings.

There are eight of us altogether.

Betty came back with her Chrsitmas tree quilt.

And also she finised our very first

group project from Lori Smith's book.

Then Kathy's minature quilt.

She has just started Orange Peel quilt

from Kathleen Tracy's book.

Her version is about 1/3 or a half scale of

the original one!

I like that idea and will consider it

when I start mine :)

This bag is made from the old pair of jeans.

Kathy said it was her first applique

project ever!!

It's from Renee's book.

Then Kristine's Hexagonal/Octagonal mat.

She said it was her challenge

with browns and blues.

Her Pumpkin mat is almost done now.

It may be done by now?

Something look familiar?

Pauline's medallion quilt.

She had another applique quilt

with putting a nice paisley borders on it,

but I forgot to take a pic of it.

Oops!

Lin's minature log cabin quilt.

Now you can see how tiny each block is!

She also finished this one

from Lisa's book.

She is also being busy with

this wooly project.

I think it is also from Primitive Gatherings' book?

Here is a project of Mary Ellen

for her granddaughter.

She was asking for everyone's suggestion

for the sashing and borders.

BTW, guess what's in this little tin box?

It's a box for Kristine's minature hexagon flowers!

And I just realized I don't have any picture of

Cheryl's quilt.

She has just started a beautiful blog

After a couple of hours of quilty fun,

it's time for shopping now!

I'll take you to the quilty paradise

in the desert!!

This sample quilt was made by Cheryl.

It's one of Schnibbles's patterns

called "Little Red",

but her version is called

 "Little Orange" instead.

It looks very autumn

and the colors are just gorgeous...

I love it and put this one down as my next

to do list on the top!

This one is a Renee's sampler.

SSQSG- July

I know, I know,

I'm a month behind of this post :O

It was our July Small Scale Quilt Study Group

- AKA, SSQSG in late last month.

As half of us were out of town,

it was just five of us for this meeting.

The above is Pauline's beautifully finished

medallion quilt.

Her machine quilting is farbulous!!

I'm not sure what is called for this technique.

It was made by her daughter Kristine.

Very cute, isn't it?

Pauline is also a cross stitcher.

I could not believe her Halloween stitch

was all done in July.

I haven't done any for Halloween this year...

We can tell how busy she was last month

with all the projects she has shown us.

And we got to see almost done version

of this one on our August meeting

on last Sunday :)

This signature quilt was made for

Dee and Whitney who are the owner of the Shoppe.

Our group members Lin and Cheryl made

these (One each for Dee and Whitney.) quilts

for two year anniversary with

the signed blocks by their customers,

teachers and favorite local designers.

How wonderful!!

And the above are Kristine's doll quilt tops.

She is a brown girl.

I really liked her bowtie quilt

with all her favorite browns!

Can you tell my bowtie quilt

 is also made from the same pattern

as hers?

The above is my version with

all the brights from Jo Morton's line.

It was my challenge quilt for this summer

to try to get out from my comfort zone.

But  my eyes really hurt by just looking at it!!

Ouch!

I'm planning to dye this one to give it

an antique look once gets quilted.

Ok, back to Kristine's WIPs.

Can you see how itty bitty they are?

She's also started the wooly project last month.

I've made the same mat last year

and just started another one last night ;)

Shhhhhh

And someone's secret purchases from TQC :O

She sounded excited about her visit TQC

 in mid next month.

I thought I had a lot more pictures taken,

but I guess not.

I may have missed whole bunch of goodies

made by other ladies,

but stay tuned, as I'm getting ready to make

another post right after this one

with more pictures ;)

Friday Night Fun

Last night, my friend Kristine and I got together

at her place and sewed the swap blocks

for Summer Civil War Block Swap.

While she got hers done before midinight,

mine got just finished today.

There are 18 blocks altogether

and sure a lot of works involved!!

Anyhow, we are both very happy

to finish ours now.

Are there anyone else also

signed up for this swap?

I know another local quilty friend of mine

Sigrid is also in.

BTW,  this lovely doll quilt

was a surprise gift from Kristine.

How sweet!!!

And look at what I'm falling in love with?

Kristine's mom Pauline generously offerred

 her BERNINA for me to use last night

and they showed me this pressor foot.

What a pleasure to work with!

I really enjoyed using this new to me toy

and got pretty spoiled with it.
