Spring Break Day 2

On day two of our trip, we headed to Victoria from Anacortes on the Washington State ferry.  We had a two and a half hour trip, but came prepared with games, toys, blankets, and pillow pets.  Pete, Grandma, Brandon and Kenyon played games.  Shaylee and Jaron played Littlest Pet Shops while Maycee and I slept.  When we got to Canada we landed in Sydney and drove to Victoria.

We went to our hotel where we were able to check in early.  We relaxed and took naps and then headed out to Beacon Hill Park.  We had so much fun there.  The kids chased birds, and watched the ducks.  Then we found some peacocks wandering around and were so surprised with how friendly they were.  They would come up and eat right out our hands.  They were so beautiful and so much fun to interact with.  Pete and the kids climbed this really cool tree with a some crazy branches.  Afterward the kids played at the park and Pete chased a squirrel around trying to get his picture.  I kept looking at him going in circles around this tree chasing the squirrel down, it was a pretty funny sight to see.
Pete thought this duck was so pretty

We then went and sat in the car just watching the sights near a lighthouse.  You could see Port Angeles across the water and it was pretty cool.  We ate at the White Spot which was yummy and then headed back to the hotel.  We closed out our day by playing games and enjoying each others company.

Spring Break Day 1

For Spring Break we decided to go to Victoria Canada since Pete's mom would be here for Maycee's blessing coming up the next week. My parents came to my house on Thursday March 31 and Pete's mom came on April 1. On Saturday, April 2, my parents headed to my sister's house and we headed to Canada. Our first day we went to Burlington Washington and stayed the night there. We got off late so we just ended up going straight to the hotel. We settled in and then headed out to eat at a local place we found on the internet. It was country cooking and it was pretty good. After that we headed back to the hotel and on our way back we saw this field filled with what we thought were tons of white flowers... as we got closer we realized that they were hundreds of DUCKS! I have never seen so many ducks in one spot. It was so cool and the kids loved it.

Back at the hotel the kids got in their swimsuits and headed to the pool. After I fed Maycee I got her all dressed in her cute little suit and took her to the pool. She loved it and kept splashing the water. She only stayed down for about 20 minutes and then I took her back up to go to bed and stay with Grandma while the rest of us continued to play at the pool. We had a great time and closed the place down.

It was a fun first day and we were looking forward to the rest of our trip.

Sailor Girls!

I was talking to my sister, Cindy one day and she told me about these cute sailor dresses she had bought at Kohls and we thought it would be fun if I bought the same dresses and we could dress our girls all alike when I come out this summer. After buying the dresses, Shaylee found them and insisted that she and Maycee wear them to church that Sunday. Of course I couldn't say no, so even though the dress is a bit big on Maycee they wore them to church and I even made them matching headbands. It was a Kodak moment, so here are my cute girls... and one with Jaron because we can't leave him out of course! :)

Two weeks later

Okay, so I haven't lost anything in these last two weeks, but I haven't gained anything either!  I am happy about that because, we have had visitors and we went on a trip for Spring Break and we have been eating out a lot.  So, no gain is good for now.  In two weeks I will report again and hopefully this time their will be a loss. :)
