Let's Get Pinned

Good afternoon. Sorry my post is so late. Since Monday my life has been in a total whirl wind and completely stressful dealing with family issues and school. I am surprised at how fast January has gone....maybe that could be a good thing...LOL.

Enough about me. Today my post is for 4 Crafty Chicks. Just have to say we had such amazing creations last week. Thank you please keep bringing it, it is totally inspiring us too. Our beautiful hostess with the mostess this week is Lori and Leanne is offering up the yummy prize for the last week of the month. Lori has come up with what I think is a rockin' challenge.

CHALLENGE #74 - PIN'S!!

Stick pins, safety pins, push pins etc...

For my card the pin I used was made and given to me at Christmas time by my lovely friend Leanne. Isn't she talented? I sure think so! The sentiment Be Mine is from Artsy Heartsy Stamp Set from SP and Company Stamps. Aren't the seals too cute! I love them. As I am typing this for the life of me I can't remember where it is from. I will update it as soon as I find out *sorry about that*. I used Cherry Cobbler paper and seam binding. Pretty in pink paper and Basic Grey, two circle punches, punch (all from Stampin Up), pearls, Pin from Leanne, copic's, Cuttlebug embossing folder and pop up's. It was a lot of fun to do this.

The inspiration of color and romance for my card I found over at The Pink Elephant from this great inspiration picture. Also Creative Card Crew's challenge is Seeing Red. I love sharing my project on Make It Monday - Anything goes.

Mixing Embossing Powders and Glitter

Hello everyone! Today is an exciting day for me. It is my first post on the SP Stamps Blog and boy am I ever excited and a little nervous. This is my first ever tutorial. It is going to be so much fun sharing it on here with you too!

So what SP and Company Stamps did I use for my project? Well I used the Ornamental Trees and Awareness is Empowering. Two sets of stamps that were awesome to work with and super fun to get inky :)

The items I used for this project are: boning tool, scissors,tweezers, paper cutter, crafting knife, paper (black, gold, pink, whisper white), embossing powder (black, gold, clear), pink glitter, glue, heat gun, pearls, cuttlebug embossing folders, 4 punches, memento ink, versa mark, SP and Company stamps, and stamp block.

I started to emboss with Ornamental Trees. Versa Mark was used to stamp the triangles. Two embossing powders were used Gold and Black (mixed the two together, poured over the Vera Mark and then heat embossed). When you are done cut the triangles out.

the picture below shows you how the gold and black mixed together bring a marbling effect to the triangles.

Next I mixed pink glitter with clear embossing powder. The stamp set I used Awareness is Empowering. The ribbon stamp was then stamped with Versa Mark, poured the mixed glitter and embossing powder over it and then heat embossed. Next was to use my little cutting tool to cut it out, it is neat because it swivels.

a little closer look. You can also see that I used a cuttlebug folder to add some texture to the card.

The sentiment is also from Awareness is Empowering. This was stamped with black Memento Ink. A dauber with pink ink was used to distress around it. Also I used another cuttlebug embossing folder to give a little dimension.

The scallop border punch and pearls helped to separate both sides of the card. It helps to give it a little more elegance to the card.

Here is another look at the finished product. The lighting wasn't great it doesn't show the marbling on the triangles very well. Sorry about that.

Think Warm for the 4 Crafty Chicks Challenge

Good Thursday morning! Our furnace has been running like crazy. The old man winter finally showed up not with a ton of snow but wicked temperatures. Wind chills of -45 all day yesterday. I hunkered down and stayed inside with my kids all day. With some hot chocolate, candles and a little bit of music some crafting was in order.

So this week I am your hostess over at 4 Crafty Chicks. With the last few days being so darn cold I am sure many of you are thinking of warmer places to go or summer time. So with that in mind I put out the challenge to you and my fellow DT's too

CHALLENGE #73 - SUMMER IN JANUARY

As I am typing this I have to laugh because I don't mind saying that I struggled a little bit with my own challenge. It sure was hard to get my mind thinking about summer. In December Leanne, Lori and I spent a wonderful day together. We did some shopping and hit a beautiful crafting store that was going out of business :( . When we were there I bought some pattern paper from Echo and it is called a walk in the park. The colors and words went perfectly for this challenge. Oh how I just love these colors. Then out came my Greeting Farms stamps. A little coloring with some Copic's and Stampin Up marker, some pearls, ribbon and wola a card was born.

while creating my card I popped over to The Pink Elephant and saw that there challenge this week is to use our favorite color or colors (TPE131) and oh do I love all of these colors. Papertake Weekly Challenge would like you to use Buttons, Bows, Bling & Blooms (you can use one or all of them). So I used the bling (pearls), the stamp has some blooms and maybe my ribbon might count..LOL. Make It Monday is on there 72nd challenge (anything goes) and it is a wonderful place to share you creations.

Bold Meets Clean and Simple

Hello, today with this post I get the chance to share some awesome news with you. Last month I announced that I was part of a new Design Team and boy am I ever excited. Today is my first post for SP and Company Stamps by Samantha Peyton. Every 2nd and 4th Friday of the month will be a new posting using her stamps. Next Saturday I will get a chance to share a creation and how to do it on the SP Stamps Blog. Other news is that over at SP Stamps Blog every day they have some kind of inspiration post and every Sunday they have a new Challenge. Oh and we can't forget the blog hops on the 10th of every month. This next year is going to be so much fun :)

Onto my project with the SP and Company Stamps. I used a bold color of Cherry Cobbler ink on the Big Bold Background Stamp. The paper colors used on my card is Night of Navy and Whisper White. Some white ribbon and then I was ready to pop up my sentiment which I used from the stamp set Mix n Match: Holidays. I used two stamps Peaceful and Thoughts for my sentiment. Sometimes people are having troubles or lose someone and you could use this card for both situations. The two words were stamped in Night of Navy ink and a dauber was used to distress with the blue. A few gems to add a little pop.

Both stamps set can be very versatile. Be sure to stop by to the blog and store to check things out, get some awesome inspiration. Here is my card. This card is for my son who is turning 15 on the weekend. For the three lines on the bottom right, I chose to use 3 staples. It is so hard too see but I figured they were a good touch for a young man. Loved these colors and the blue jean look. Stampin Up stamps and square scalloped punch, cajun craze ink, twine, staples and Martha Stewart punch. It is a fairly clean and simple card.
