This weekend we headed off for a weekend with Al's family. Marysvale has a big celebration for the 24th of July. Thursday night we watched the fireworks.

Saturday morning the kids waved to the people in the tiny parade.

After the parade we went to the park for the races. Sadie did awesome. I think she came in 2nd. Sawyer was thirsty and all he wanted was to drink water...not race. I came in 2nd and even Alan ran although his hip wishes he hadn't.

After the races it was off the to school for family pictures. Three hours later...yes, it takes FOREVER...we went back to the house for lunch.
That evening we decided to have a cookout on the mountain. I sent my kids with their cousins in SUVs and Alan and I took the four-wheeler. It rained the whole way up and we were completely soaked when we got to the lake. I was glad the kids weren't with us. Also Friday evening, Alan's brothers Mike and Jordan and SIL Mandy were rear-ended on the highway. It totalled their vehicle, and they all had to go to the hospital, but other than some serious pain, bumps and bruises, they are alright, thank goodness. Then Saturday, we went to Alan's 10 year class reunion. All-in-all it was a great weekend, but I am glad to be home.

Haircut and Crazy Snake

I took Sadie to get her hair cut by someone besides me for the first time yesterday. This picture shows the tears we had when we got to the salon. She was scared to death of getting her hair washed in that sink. It was quite sad. After the lady started washing Sadie's hair, Sadie calmed down and even smiled. The sink wasn't scary after all...it actually felt good.

This is Sadie getting ready to get her hair cut. She had calmed down. She liked getting to ride up in the chair and she liked that she was taller than me.

It is hard to see in the following picture, but a snake has the fish in its mouth. Alan said it had caught the fish and was fighting pretty hard to keep the fish out of the water. The fish kept getting stuck on sticks and stuff. I think it is pretty weird.

The snake is along the rock above the fish. You can click on the picture to enlarge it.

Family Reunion

For the fourth of July we went to my family reunion. It was a lot of fun. We love camping. The time goes by so fast. I can't believe how absolutely filthy my kids get. They literally roll around in the dirt.
I am not sure what Sawyer is eating in this picture, but I think it is a jaw breaker. He loves them. I don't really like him to have them, but Grannie gave it to him so what can I do?
Sadie had a great time with some new cousins. Cousins she only really sees at the family reunion. Her and Hope colored and played Barbies all day. On the other days, she played Barbies and Crazy Eights with Taylor. She loved going canoeing on the lake and just being outside.
See how dirty her face is. This was a semi-clean moment. Sad, I know.
Happy 4th!

Yesterday we had some friends come over and jump on our tramp with the sprinkler under it. Sawyer didn't love it, but Sadie and her friend Boston had a great time.
