Family Pictures

It had been a couple of years since we took family pictures (at Devon and Mary's wedding). We thought it would be good to take Tanner's Senior Pictures and Maddie really wanted pictures. We asked Jessica Hardin, a cute girl in our ward and she did a great job!

Anniversary- 19 Years

August 7-9
Jon and I have wanted to go down to Cedar City for the Shakespeare Festival for a few years. This year we decided to actually do it! We got to see 4 plays in 2 days which was so much fun! We saw Peter and the Star catcher (my favorite), 12 Angry Men, King John, and Loves Labors Lost. All were very enjoyable!

We ate a lot of great food but we also walked everywhere so hopefully it balanced out. We ate at a great bbq place called Sonny Boys.
Here was the stage set for King John, pretty cool!
"World Famous Tarts".  I tried the raspberry and summer berry. Yum! So nice to be with Jon for a few days!

Island Park

July 25th-28th

Ostenson Family Reunion in Idaho. Michael and Rachel were able to get a great deal on a big, nice cabin at a school fund raiser auction.  There were 15 kids (11 boys and 4 girls) and 10 adults.

Jon and I went on a walk and saw a deer. Very beautiful and peaceful!
Our main event was floating down the river in tubes. It was so fun! It was located at Mack's Inn. It took us about 4 hours and we got rained on which was a bit cold. 2 hours would've been about right! Plus Maddie got a leach on her leg and it freaked her out but she was fine! We saw several Moose which made me nervous but they are usually very docile creatures.

 Making smores!
We went to church and a huge log church building that had an intercom that we could hear the meeting next door. Apparently there are so many visitors in the summer they have to ask us to leave after Sacrament meeting because they don't have enough room for everyone to go to all the meetings. So after Sacrament meeting we went to a beautiful river and walked around.

Max is a Teenager

July 20, 2013

Max wanted a trifle instead of a cake and he even helped me make it.
We went to Boondocks and got a package deal where they could do 2 events. They did laser tag and race cars. The cars were really fun, we've never done those before. Happy Birthday, Max!

This picture is taken later in the week as they prepare for an air soft war. It stings so Randon is prepared.

The Summer of 5Ks

 July 20, 2013
It all started with Maddie and Marissa running a 5K for Steel Days in American Fork. Jon and I ate in a little diner on Main Street and then came out to watch them cross the finish line. Pretty fun. The girls are also staying in shape for Cross Country this year.

July 24
Then we saw that Provo was having a 5K on Pioneer Day from the Provo Temple to the new Provo Tabernacle Temple. It was all down hill and free so we decided to do it as a family (except Tanner had to work). It was pretty fun. I made Seth stay with Max and me which made him sad because he thought he could keep up with Maddie and Jon but I was worried because there were tons of people.

Since this race took place on Max's actual birthday, we went to Krispy Kreme afterwards for doughnuts. Max got his very own dozen.

August 3
Then, Jon, Maddie, and Seth did the Highland 5K at the end of summer. Seth was determined and he did stay up with them. Crazy boy!
