Toasty Warm

After dinner tonight the boys were watching the football game and I was on the computer when we noticed Ashlyn was MIA...which usually means she's up to no good upstairs.  I sent Blake up to check on her and he came back down claiming he looked everywhere and couldn't find her.  Thinking he was just being lazy I went up to check on her, only to find all the light off and her nowhere to be found.  I hollered, looking in all of her usual hiding spots and started to get nervous that she wasn't answering.  I came downstairs to tell Rick to help me look for her, only to find her sound asleep next to the fire place on a little bed of pillows with her snuggy.  That little turkey!

Up in Flames

 Thanksgiving weekend was the big Civil War game...since the Ducks lost the week before the game was only on the Pac-12 Network, which we DON'T have.  Talk about one MAD family that we were going to miss it!  Luckily Rick's niece in Hermiston had the ability to add the channel to her satellite package.  So we all piled in her living room to watch our team make the Beavers look ridiculous...what a sweet day!

My Sister-in-law, who I was friends with before I met Rick, has had this Beaver night shirt for over 20 years and to say it was on it's last leg would be a HUGE understatement.  Ya add the fact that it's a BEAVER night shirt and you get YEARS of ridicule and teasing from us.  So to be a good sport Kristin brought the night shirt to the game to sacrifice after we creamed the Beavers...it went up in flames QUICK, just like the Civil War game did for the Beavers....Go Ducks!!

Meadowbrook Flyers

 Blake is playing on his school's basketball team this year and tonight was their first game.  (He's in the black and grey shorts.) I decided to try out the camera on my new iPhone...not sure if it's a crappy camera or if I just lack in the ability to use the camera properly. However, I did like that it doesn't have a delay so I got some fun action shots, even if they are a little blurry.

 He got TONS of rebounds,

 scored 2 baskets,

and only got 1 foul called on him.  He got a little aggressive, and since he's bigger than all the kids, he TOTALLY  plowed one over and they both ended up on the ground, oops!  It's nice that he's able to play on the school team, it's coached by his teacher so it's fun to have a relationship outside of the classroom.  Being on the school team has also allowed him to opportunity to get to know the kids in his grade better, rather than when he played for the Rec Center you're mixed up with all the different schools. Here's to a great season!

Our First COLD Halloween

Blake decided he was too old for trick-or-treating again this year, so Ashlyn and I went out and the boys stayed home to hand out candy.  We've never had to bundle up for trick-or-treating and have always ended up sweaty by the end...Ashlyn was NOT very happy when I told her she had to wear leggings and a shirt under her dress, not to mention gloves.

 Our neighborhood is ALOT smaller so we only had about 10 kids come to our door and barely made a dent in the stash we bought to hand out...Blake wasn't too sad about that though.

 Just as when we were kids, Ashlyn got a kick out of ringing our own doorbell before calling it a night.  She thought she was soooo sneaky, Blake was clearly annoyed though when he answered the door.

And as always it's a toss up as to which is more fun...collecting the candy or sorting through it at the end of the night.  Since we had such a small number of kids knock on the door this year, Rick said we need to hand out full candy bars next year...who's coming to our house??
