So we broke down this weekend and joined the world of plasma tv's. Our VCR died this week, which meant no surround sound and not being able to use the dvd player - errrr! Without much convincing, Rick found a sweet deal on this one. It's only a 42", when we wanted a 50" for the living room, but had planned on a 42" later for our room. (He seems to think that the tv needs to fill every minute space of the hole in the wall unit, this one does not. ) So since it was a TON less, we got the smaller one for now and when we can spend the money on the big one this one will go in our room.
Broken VCR + no surround sound + no DVD player + great deal + a Wayne Family Vision bonus so we didn't pay for the tv = a new tv!
I know, talk about rationalizing...but for sanity purposes, I'll take the heat. We've been following Dave Ramsey the last year and have done REALLY good, but alas, we fell off the wagon this weekend...sorry Dave!
We split 250 tokens between them all....FYI - WAY TOO MANY!!! We were there for 3 1/2 hours - WAY TOO LONG!!
It was fun to see what games they chose to play and rides to go on...
...and then the big decision process of what to buy with all the ticket they won.
After much stress and elimination of various choices, Blake opted for a baseball cake this year along with Nascar checkered flag icecream - yummy!

Blake and I thought it would be funny to get Ashlyn trick candles this year, however they didn't make it in the bag at Wal-Mart when we bought them, so we ended up with regular ones from the Dollar Store...it's a good thing, because she had enough trouble blowing the regular ones out.
She drove Blake and her friend crazy opening each present by tearing of ity-bity pieces of the wrapping paper off at a time, she eventually made it through the stack though.
She had her friend Catherine over after church for cake and ice cream and opening presents. They all joined in on one LOUD game of Ashlyn's new game, Hungry Hungry Hippo. I now know why we never had that game growing up!
It didn't show up very well in the picture, but it's a baseball in the middle of the trophy.
...building her tower that she was sooo proud to show us when she was done. She had taken every book off her shelf, every toy out of the toy box, every piece of dress-up clothes from the tote, all of her shoes...etc.etc. and piled them on top of her bed. Why? Ya got me! But she had fun and was pretty proud of her creation. All's we could do was laugh!
His teacher did a cute PowerPoint presentation where each kid had a slide with a picture from the school year and reministed about 1st grade and what they wanted to be when they grew up. It was cute to see what things kids remembered from the year.
