The Last Sunday In My Summervacation

My Vacation is over - it ends like it started - with rain.  Norway is pretty green now - I usually have red tomatoes from my garden this late in August - but not this year - the Sun has not been here.  Last Thuesday I took a class in making cupcakes - Manuela fron Passion4Baking had classes in Hamar - and I couldn't resist!

Anyway - yesterday it was so warm outside that we could make a BBQ - and my son Nichlasen and my brother made dessert...

...I think they enjoyed it!

My mother made the salad and I took pictures...I was a great evening.

And the Tower of Cup Cakes...cakestand bought in Sacramento!

...do not forget to enjoy life or cupcakes or both...

Redwood Forrest in California

Before we came to Sacramento we had to drive through The Redwood Forrest. It was stunning - the trees were sooo tall - sooo big - and sooo green! We just had one hour to spend - so we found a trial that took only 5 minutes! Next time we have to stop at least a day. Try it!

As we drove south from Oregon State - at Highway 101 - it got foggy. It's thick, grey fog from the Pacific Ocean. It's pretty cool - don't you think!

My little babyboy - Nichlasen - called me today - he's comming home to his mother - ME! - after two years in Oslo - the capitol of Norway! He's going to attend a class at Jønsberg Videregående Skole. Hurra! But first he has to take his exam as an apprentice.

Sacramento - California

I'll continue with our trip - I've been home for two weeks now and - the girls that have been at work have done a great job! Thanks!
My mother is a Red Cross Nurse - and she did here "duty year" at this hospital - Sutter General Hospital downtown Sacramento. This was in 1954 and 1955 - when Elvis Presly relased That's All Right Mama Of course we had to visit!

This is Sutter's Fort - we didn't do the tour - I did it in 1978.
