In other words she is hired by city councils to provide them with justification for raising parking fees. She is of the breed of people who feel it is their God give mission in life to alter other peoples behaviour to accord with their vision of how they want world to be. People have got to eat. To eat they either have to grow food or do something useful which they can exchange for food. Squid is good food so some people go and catch squid and exchange it for the things they need to survive and prosper in this sorry world. Some people think catching squid is bad because it impacts on the sealions or something and therefore the Government shouldn't let people catch squid. The people who think other people shouldn't catch squid are very often people who are prospering, they are often employed in secure jobs and paid from taxes extracted from the people who do useful things, things like catching squid funnily enough. Green MP Gareth Hughes is getting into a flap over the low voter turnout last Saturday. Parliament's justice and electoral select committee holds an inquiry after every election. Green MP Gareth Hughes says it should look at ways to reverse the declining turnout. "The low voter turnout continues a declining trend in New Zealand, which has seen every election since 2002 make a new historic low,'' he said. He has written to all party leaders asking for support to expand the terms of reference of the inquiry. He said only ''minor changes'' have come out of the last three elections. Election silly season - it's really depressing what is deemed important by our elites. I was reminded of a piece of nonsense from 2005 - the Exclusive Brethren thing. And how they were cast as a "secretive cult" interfering in the democratic political process. Of course they had just as much right to engage in political dialogue as everybody else but their message was not one the elites wanted heard. Fast forward to 2011 And in this silly season a Green Anglican Priest's political discourse consisted of a major billboard vandalization campaign. Unlike "cuppagate" this Greens scandal has been a two day wonder - the elite media has pretty much moved on. Whereas with "cuppagate" they are doing everything they can to keep alive. And so it was with the "EB" thing back in 2005 - kept alive for weeks. But if it suited the needs of the elite couldn't the association of the Greens with Liberal Anglicanism be cast as sinister?

Stuff like this from Gareth Hughes Hughes last night called for an independent inquiry, saying many New Zealanders would be "shocked" at the magnitude of the shipments, some of which could eventually be used in weapons. "We have to look at the history of these shipments. I saw this statement released by the Green Party today, regarding the so-called 'discrimination of Catholics' not being able to be made Monarch in England. Green MP Keith Locke says that any changes to the royal succession laws must end all discrimination against Catholics. British Prime Minister David Cameron has proposed to other nations with Queen Elizabeth as Head of State a change in royal succession law to remove the bias against female heirs and the disqualification on a heir who marries a Catholic. The concept of developing New Zealand's energy resources , that is. Well only if you listen to Coal Action Network Aotearoa , where do they get these Monty Pythonesque names? Of course those of us with children and a stake in the future actually think developing New Zealand's energy resources is a jolly good idea. It means increased income for the country which means more money for education, housing, roads and health care and so forth, not forgetting gainful employment for more people.
