Let's round up the gays. It starts with that. You round up people who you don't like. I mean, why is not more of the world outraged at this? Yelena Gadzhievna Isinbayeva is now the greatest female pole vaulter of all time. She is 31 years old and wants to start a family and is about to. But the BBC and other Western media are in high dudgeon over comments she made (in English) at a news conference after winning her third women's world pole vault title. Now here's the thing my friends the comments that are causing journalists across the western world heads to explode were made in response to questions asked of her by those self same journalists. They were asked of her in her country about laws relating to her country , passed unanimously by both houses of the government of her country with the overwhelming support of the citizens of her country . This was filmed in Kiev and that is the Ukrainian National Flag. A day later in Odessa the same cretin wiped his butt with the Russian National Flag . Strangely enough when they got to the Kuban, in Southern Russia, they did not receive a warm welcome and were told where to go, that is home, to put it politely . What can you say - in a world of suffering, where cruel things happen to people robbing them of any chance of a decent life we allow this to be taken seriously?

Quid Deinde? What Next? This is a new venture of mine, a new style of blog and of blogging perhaps. The kick-off is now and a new game has started. This was born out of frustrations with Blogger and Wordpress along with a freedom of spirit - the need not to be tied down by others conceptions of what I might want. And to loosen some of the shackles that technology is building around us - with ever more intrusive demands for information from us we might not particularly want to hand over. What this will lead to I do not know for sure but it is going to be fun - so come on over. Quid Deinde indeed.

You wont see this on the News, this is not a protest the Western media have much interest in covering but it is never the less a protest. Madonna is off to St Petersburg, where she will challenge the law which makes it an offense to promote homosexuality among minors. Calling herself a 'freedom fighter' the star wrote: 'I will come to St Petersburg to speak up for the gay community and to give strength and inspiration to anyone who is or feels oppressed.' Well she is really putting everything on the line here in taking this stance. If she does go to St Petersburg, run afoul of this law and find herself convicted she could be fined a whooping 5000 roubles. That would equate to NZ$207.73 at today's exchange rate. Small change to the illustrious one I'd posit. Those who organised a concert where the offense occurs, if it does, could be fined. For them it could be more expensive 500,000 roubles - that's roughly NZ$20,000. I suppose the organizers could deduct this from her performance fee, if they are clobbered. A small price for her to pay to gain posturing rights however it pans out. ...

In other words she is hired by city councils to provide them with justification for raising parking fees. She is of the breed of people who feel it is their God give mission in life to alter other peoples behaviour to accord with their vision of how they want world to be. The worm has well and truly turned - A picket in defense of Christians' rights in the UK was held near the British embassy in Moscow on Wednesday. Well what do you know - today is Race Relations Day. The multiculti apparatchiks of the Human Rights Commission have deemed the theme for this year's "Race Relations Day" is - Aotearoa, A Fair Go for All . Apart from applying that designation not much else is happening to celebrate this fine festival of rampant secularism.
