Infomercials

This man captures the boys' attention in a way a mother could only dream. Anytime his loud, obnoxious voice is heard they stop what they are doing and watch in awe.

This is what Ryan thinks we should get Nick for a just because gift.

This is what he wants me to have.

What a sweet thought...

The Dunce Award Goes To....

Today as I'm loading the kids in the car I place my water bottle and wallet on top. I remember putting them on the front seat after Liv is loaded and off I drive.

Well...you can see where this story is going can't you?

I return home and find the water bottle I thought I had put on the front seat in the ditch at the bottom of the driveway. No Wallet.

I walk the Cul-de-Sac.

No Wallet.

I'm only blogging about this since the chilluns are asleep..otherwise I'd be looking...

Poor Lost Wallet.

They just appeared

So Liv has been a little grumpy lately but nothing to bad. I've been looking for the little white nubs indicating teeth were coming but nothing. Today she was gnawing on my finger and it hurt! There are two beginnings of teeth that have pushed through!!! I'll get pictures as soon as you can see them.

She Likes It!

Just thought I would show the world what a beauty we have even with a double chin and dirty prune face!

I love it!

This is the amazing frame I received for Christmas. No pictures in it yet but that will be soon!

When I Grow Up...

Today we were talking about what the boys wanted to be when they get big. This was our conversation:

Ryan: I want to build and fix houses!

Drew: I want to ride a motorcycle and beat up bad guys!!

Ryan: I still want to build houses.

Ryan: And Liv wants to be a doctor.

Drew: Oh.

999

It is very simple.

1. Pick 9 categories
2. Read 9 books in each of those categories
3. Complete them in 2009.
4. To make it easier —
The 888 challenge allowed an overlap of 8 books which would fit into more than one category. So for this challenge, you could overlap 9 books, but that’s up to you.
5. To make it harder —
Complete all your books by 9/9/09.

I have chosen my categories and they are…

New-to-me Authors:
The Little Giant of Aberdeen County - Tiffany Baker

Non-fiction:
A Short History Of Nearly Everything - Bill Bryson

Classics:
To Kill A Mockingbird - Harper Lee

Self Help:
The Last Lecture - Randy Pausch

Award Winner:
Shadow Country - Peter Matthiessen

Mystery:
What the Dead Know - Laura Lippman

Beginning Of A Series:
Vienna Prelude - Bodie & Brock Thoene

Fantasy/Sci-Fi:
Impossible - Nancy Werlin

One Of My Favorites:
Ender's Game - Orson Scott Card

Something To Ponder...

The following is the philosophy of Charles Schultz, the creator of the 'Peanuts' comic strip.

1. Name the five wealthiest people in the world.
2. Name the last five Heisman trophy winners.
3. Name the last five winners of the Miss America.
4. Name ten people who have won the Nobel or Pulitzer Prize.
5. Name the last half dozen Academy Award winners for best actor and actress.
6. Name the last decade's worth of World Series winners.

How did you do?

The point is none of us remember the headliners of yesterday. These are no second rate achievers. They are the best in their fields. But the applause dies. Awards tarnish. Achievements are forgotten. Accolades and certificates are buried with their owners.

Here's another quiz. See how you do on this one;

1. List a few teachers who aided your journey through school.
2. Name three friends who have helped you through a difficult time.
3. Name five people who have taught you something worthwhile.
4. Think of a few people who have made you feel appreciated and special.
5. Think of five people you enjoy spending time with.

Easier?

The Lesson...

The people who make a difference in your life are not the ones with the most credentials, the most money, or the most awards. They are the ones that care.

Nickisms

So my post before about my wonderful husband may be in turmoil!

Nick has a little bit of a mouth and an odd sense of humor. He likes to make people look and wonder sometimes so this post is dedicated to all of the somewhat inappropriate things he has said. Example:

Last night we were shopping at Target. After the check out I picked up the box of diapers we just purchased and Nick turns to me and said...
"Thanks. I knew I bought you for a reason."
Yeah...I laughed and laughed but it's still inappropriate.

Others...
"I hope they haven't reported this card stolen yet."
"He's not my kid I just found him outside."

I'm sure I'll think of more and have new ones to add but this just gives you a glimpse into the sass that I married!

I still love you though Nick! (and I hope I was worth the money :) )

Whoa!

If you are looking for an amazing time filler check out this website!!! It is so great!

A Look Back...

In honor of Drew here are some fun pictures from his 3 years with us..Enjoy.

Happy Birthday!!

Drew turned the big 3 yesterday!!!

I know he is holding up four fingers...Ryan tried to help him hold up three but Drew said it hurt his fingers to do that so he is four. Funny boy.

We went to Pirate Island for his big birthday dinner. He was completely overwhelmed and in awe of the place. It's like the Pirates of the Caribbean ride that serves food. It was fun.

We are so blessed to have Drew in our family. He definitely goes to the beat of his own drum. He loves anything that Ryan is doing and yet keeps to himself as well. Lately he loves to play on his own while he sings. We love you Drew!!

So to stay true to New Years I'm writing down my goals for this coming year. I would do the typical lose weight, be healthy and all that jazz but it should be a given. This year I WILL:

Save Save Save!!
Take More Pictures of Everyday
Clean & Organize and keep it that way.
Make To Do Lists and complete them
Less TV more Outside
Buy my tickets to Germany

New Years Eve

This New Years was pretty low key. After work we had dinner and went to First Night to watch the 10pm fireworks with the kids. It wasn't nearly as cold as other years and the fireworks were great! We headed home and put the kids to bed. The next morning Nick and I were off to Vegas to pick Keena and Malea up from the airport. Here's to a GREAT New Year!!!
