SnOw!!

On Jan. 3rd it snowed in St. George and actually stuck to the ground! I was shocked and amazed as I back out of the driveway and all around me was white! I was bummed I couldn't be home and play in the snow with the kids but Nick is such a good daddy and took then out to play and build a snowman when they got up.
Here is Frosty
Wait..he needs a scarf and hat (Coop gave up his hat for Frosty)
Checking out Frosty
Brr.. Cooper LOVES the snow and could play out in it with flip flops and shorts but Kallie on the other hand is like me..loves the look but not the feel. This is her first real snow experience and she just kind of walked around in it and watched Coopster build and make snow balls!

Christmas 2010

Christmas this year had a special spirit about it. I don't know if it is because Cooper understood a little more but it was so nice and relaxing!

Our normal tradition for Christmas Tree Hunting got broken this year :( I started working full-time in October and then Nick worked weekends so it put a damper on our schedule of when we could go out and get a tree with Bennett's Family.
So, we went down to Home Depot and picked out a tree. It was a perfect tree so it didn't take us as long as it normally does to pick out a tree...for all of you who have never been tree hunting with Nick...it is a LONG process!

We had a traditional Christmas Eve program with the Brooks family so I thought I would snap a few pictures of the kids before we left.Cooper and Kallie by the mini tree

Attempting a picture by the tree We had a lot of fun at the dinner & program. The kids did great at the piano, guitar, harp, singing, bells, etc. This is the first year Cooper participated in the program part. He and Brenden sang, "Rudolph the red nose reindeer" and did fantastic. It was so cute! Then all the kids did the nativity. I love watching them come in, imagining they are really there when Jesus was born.
While we were cleaning up..the little kids enjoyed being pushed around on the tables by the big kids.

After Opening presents we went over to Christmas Morning Brunch at Grandma Tobler's house and enjoyed some time with cousins. When we got home it was nap time and we just hung out and showed all our fun news toys to Grandpa & Grandma Tobler, Grandpa & Grandma Brooks, Grandma Tobler & Bryan as they came over throughout the day.

Merry Christmas

Family & Friends,

This year has been a crazy, fast one!

Nick graduated from the Police Academy in August and is now working for Ivins City. He is really enjoying it!

Dorene has returned back to work at Zion Pain Management and is trying to keep up with home, church callings and work. Things sure are busy!

Cooper turned 4 in February and loves to play "work" outside. He has his own "crew" and he takes them to work everyday on his bike!
What and imagination this boy has! He is enjoying going to DSC preschool with his cousin Brenden. He is doing so well with writing his name and is having fun making the sounds of letters as he spells words out.

Kallie turned 1 in September and is such a joy! We are experiencing a whole new world with having a little girl in our home. Lots of pink and emotion! She loves to follow and do what Cooper does unless it involves wrestling!

Thank you to all of you for your love and support this year. We appreciate all of you!

We hope that you all have a very Merry Christmas and wish you a Happy and prosperous New Year!

Love,

Nick, Dorene, Cooper & Kallie Tobler

Swearing In

These pictures did not turn out very good which makes me sad but at least I have a few.

December 15, 2010 Nick was sworn in as a Public Saftey Officer for Ivins City. The had an introduction and Cooper was asked to come to the front and explain why Police Officers and Fire Fighters are important. It was so fun to watch him up there answer question just on the spot. He did so good!

We are so blessed to be able to have had this opportunity to change employment and begin our lives on this new journey. Nick really enjoys his new career.

Soccer Days

We had some great soccer season wrapped up in November. Cooper liked playing most of the time. It was a good way to get him started in sports.
We had a lot of fun and enjoyed cheering Cooper on. Bryan, Grandma T., Grandpa Tobler, Grandma & Grandpa Brooks came and supported him! Kallie of course loved to hang out with Bryan
Go Coop, Go!
Last Game Day & Trophy! I don't know which he thought was better...the trophy or donut :)

Bye-Bye Toby & Good Helper

In June we went up to Orem for some testing for Nick. Jason & Joanna were left to take care of Toby & Peeps. We got a call on our way home that Peep wasn't out front and no where to be found. Peeps was the smaller one and wasn't very fast at getting away. We are assuming the the hawk that used to hang around our house got a hold of her or somehow she ventured off into the field...or maybe Jason just had roast duck for dinner ;)

Toby didn't handle Peeps disappearance very well and would waddle around squawking for her. He started acting as if he was depressed! Poor Mr. Tobs! After about a few weeks we decided it was best for Tobs to be with other ducks...and his droppings were not very fun to clean up as he was growing to be a bigger duck. We said our good byes and took him down to the nearby duck pond.
Walking down to the duck pond In he goes He had a rough time at first were the other ducks were trying to figure out why he was there. They pecked at him and the orangish/white duck, aka naughty duck, tried to drown him a few times but he stood his own and was finally accepted. Here are his pals that he would swim and lounge around with under the shade trees. We sure did love having Toby & Peeps while it lasted but, I think we are all happier..no more droppings to clean up and for Toby an endless supply of water to play in with other ducks!

Cooper Loves to Help with Dishes
I found this picture on my camera and asked Cooper when this was. He said that Keanna was babysitting him and she let him clean up the dishes. He loves to help wash dishes and vacuum. Hope it last for a while :)

FoOtBaLl

As a desendent of Walt Brooks they (people at Dixie) asked Dad to deliver the game ball to the team at the First home game for Dixie High this year.
Warren, Walt and Jason were all able to attend
Dad Delivering the ball Mr. ?, Warren, Walt, Jason, Dad and Mr. Bair Meeting the players!

For any of you who didn't know my Grandpa Brooks, he LOVED Football and was a coach for many, many years! I was able to spend the last year of his life with him taking care of him at his home. That is where we really gained a relationship. He couldn't speak but only a few words (Football, chocolate milk, Go, No and some others) due to having a stroke but could feel his love and support. He was so happy and loved to listen to the piano. When I would get home from work he would usually be watching a game of some sport on T.V. and then before bed would go into the family room where the paino was and sit in his recliner and I would play for him. I am not very good by any means but he still loved to listen to me play! I sure do miss and love him. I sure do cherish the memories I got to spend with him. Love you Gramps!

1 Year Stats & Cooper Update

I still can't get over the fact that I have a ONE year old now! Ahhh...seriously! We went to the Dr. for Kallie's 1 year check up (Oct.4th). She LOVED Dr. Marsden and showing off for him until he wanted to check out her ears, nose and throat...then she was done! Well soon did she know she would get shots...so SAD!

Here she is looking all adorableHer Stats for 12 months are:

Weight: 17 lbs 15oz. 7%
Height: 28.5 28%
Head: 18.2 82%

She got 4 shots and was not a happy camper but they did great and tag teamed her so it wasn't half as bad.

Few things she says:

Da (Dad) *She will walk around the house saying this until she finds Nick and then gets the biggest smile on her face.
Mum (Mom)

Things I love:

  • every time I put tights, jammies or socks on her, she twirls her foot around
  • gives her stuffed animals kisses
  • the way he walks
  • her babbling
  • how she knocks on everything

Things about Kallie:

  • mimicks everything i do. putting make-up on, cleaning the floors
  • loves to dance ( shaking both arms in front of her)
  • sing to songs at church (she gets the cutest serious face and starts singing)
  • pesters Cooper
  • only takes a bottle at night
  • sleeping lots better
  • has 7 teeth and is working on getting a molar in
  • loves to "wash" her hands in the sink

Miss Kallie LOVES spaghetti
She was eating lunch the other day and I left the kitchen and came back and she was sounds asleep.
Her hair is growing and I love it! She can have some pretty crazy hair when she wakes up

Kallie's ONE

I cannot believe that this sweet little baby turned ONE! I am dying...it seriously feels like I just had her. I remember it so clear. I am excited for her to be at this fun stage but I really miss her being tiny! For Kallie's birthday Mom, Dad and Coop went shopping and picked out this cute little princess car and the pop-up number (this was from Cooper..he wanted to give her his own present).

She LOVED both of her presents and whenever I would tell her to say "cheese" this is the face I got. I think it is hilarious!
For her birthday we had a luau at the park for her and Uncle Steve. Teria made this cute invite for the party. We had a delicious pork and rice dinner...thanks Aunt Toni!
Cake Time
The cake that she is indulging in is her free cake from Albertson's! It was awesome! She was hilarious when we put the cake in front of her. She just looked at it like, "What do you want me to do with this!" Kay gave her a fork and she was much happier. She went to town! This cute Hawaiian shirt cake is one that Jen B. made. It turned out darling...and delicious!
Cupcakes Teria took some pictures of Kallie for her birthday and I just can't get over how ADORABLE they are. Thanks SO much Teria and thanks Joanna for the location idea!
