FROZEN!

We had so much fun over the Thanksgiving Break!  Wednesday we went to see Frozen with grandma and the cousins!  We loved the movie and the company! 

Great Grandma's Funeral

Kody's Grandma Donna Nelson passed away at the beginning of November.  Kody was lucky enough to make a trip up to see her in Oregon just a few days before her passing.  She was a very classy lady who was a real peacemaker.
Funerals are always a sad occasion but it was great to be together with family that we hadn't seen in a while.

Scary Hill

With only a week before Halloween we decided we better give Scary Hill a try.  Me and the kids had gotten Cherry Hill passes and with those you get into Scary Hill free.  We did some mini golfing, a tractor ride through a cute skeleton display, crawled around the hamster cage, played Aeroball, and played Battlestar Blasters!  It was a fun family activity!

Great Grandma Nelson's Funeral

Kody got news that his grandma was not doing well so he and his borther Kip headed up to Oregon the day after Halloween  to see her.  They had a good visit and she was able to talk to them and was glad to see them. It was a tender mercy because she passed away about a week later.

We traveled up to Oregon for the funeral. Kody gave the family prayer and did a great job!  All the kids but Kylie went up to the nursery which was so nice and the funeral was really well done. The graveside service was short and sweet with Kody’s Dad dedicating the grave. We headed back to the church building for lunch.  It was great to see Kody’s cousins and other family we don’t see very often.

We will miss Great Grandma Donna but she has been such a great example and we are proud of the life she has led :)

Early Halloween Party

With Aunt Becca in town from the big PA, Grandma threw an early Halloween Party.  She had cute banana ghosts, clementine pumpkins, witch finger breadsticks and yummy soup.  We hit a pinata and had fun running around and being crazy with our cousins!

HaLlOwEen!

We take Halloween seriously around here!  No particularly the decorating or the costumes....mainly the TRICK OR TREATING!!!!  We have a system.  I get the kids dressed in the ir costumes and take them down to Colonial Square at 4 to trick or treat to the little shops.  That's just a warm up.
Then I feed the kids our traditional jack o lantern pizza before taking them around the block.  About that time Kody gets home and then he and the girls get down to business.  I drive them to the top of the hill and they trick or treat back to our house.  This year they got back to the house about 8:30.  Mallory was exhausted and I put her to bed but Tessa and Kylie dumped out their pumpkins and went back out to trick or treat until 9.
My husband in a small town and they had to drive from house to house so it took a long time and they didn't get a lot of candy...I think he is now living vicariously through our girls and makes them sort their candy to see just how much they got :)

California Day 6-San Diego Zoo

For our final day in California we headed to the San Diego Zoo.  It was alot slower pace and we saw tons of cool animals that we don't have at our state zoo: Rhinos, Okapi, Koalas, Cheetahs, Orangutans,
Hippos, and Pandas.  The girls loved the Aerial Tram, the 4D Rio Movie, and the petting zoo.  A great way to end a fun vacation!
