Morgan Romriell

We have had an eventful couple of weeks(including buying our own wing of Summerlin Children's Hospital).  Our cute little Morgan was born Aug 18th at 7:58am weighing 7lbs 12ozs and 20" long.  She was perfectly perfect.  She had a little heart murmur, but we were assured it was normal and not a cause for concern.  We left the hospital 3 days later.  2 days later, I finished feeding her, tried to burp her, and then laid her down on the bed, I then looked over at her and her lips were purple, her face was turning a dusky color and she was twitching, after an eternity(30 secs) she came around.  This was the second time it happened, so off to the ER we went.  Apparently the wrong ER, after 3 hours there, we took an ambulance ride to the children's hospital. They admitted her to the PICU.  They ran numerous tests, including an upper GI an EEG, and a sleep study.  She saw every kind of specialist they could think of. After 6 days, including a horrific wednesday of watching our sweet baby quit breathing 12 times(had to be bagged -resustitated- twice) we had a reason for her naughtiness.  The upper GI showed reflux, and the sleep study showed that she had obstructive apnea.  Essentially, instead of being a "spitty" baby, food comes up and gets caught in her windpipe, and she stops breathing.  The twitching is just a reflex, not seizures(whew).  CURE-she must sleep at 45 degree angle, eat 1 oz of milk thickened with rice cereal every 2hrs, zantac 3 times a day, be attached to an apnea monitor, and must sit up for 1/2 hr after eating.  Thx to everyone for prayers and support, we so appreciated it:)

.We've had an eventful summer so far!  Taylor was in Summerlin's 4th of July parade(on the 3rd), and then we went to the fireworks on the 4th where we ran out of gas on the way home-oops:)  Then on the 5th the kids and I flew to Idaho.  We were able to get cheap tickets, but we had to fly into Twin Falls Airport, haircare and Tire(yes it seemed that small, and I think the farmer landed the plane and then went back into the field).  But can't complain about $10.00 tickets.  Jeremy was up from Albuquerque and Jackie and Ben got time off of work.  We tried every day to just wear the kids out!  We swam, went to the zoo, played in the water, and tried to get out every toy at Jackie and Grandma's house!  Then we had to get back to reality which hit us in the face with 100 degrees at midnight!  Ahh home sweet home:)

Growing in Nevada

Things have been changing and growing here in the desert.
We (meaning Todd and Taylor) dug out the rocks from the
front yard and began the task of creating a yard that looked like someone cared!
After this, Todd installed a sprinkler "system", and sod was laid.
We intended on putting a little more grass, but the rocks got a little heavy to shovel!
So we opted for a couple bushes (which weren't easy to plant in the clay!).
Then the girls were able to go pick out flowers for around the tree.  You can't really make
out the colors, but there is a definite pink and purple theme!
The other BIG growth is my belly(it's huge, as Brooklyn says) Baby Morgan/Ellie continues
to get big, awaiting her arrival sometime the middle/end of August.  We even survived our first
110 degree weekend:)
Not a great picture of a picture-but she has her hand in her mouth and knees up to her chest.(I think)
Everybody likes cute baby feet!
This was just a random (weird) picture they gave me of her lips and nose.
(I think she has Paige's mouth-just sayin')

Our Taylor turned 12 and since we just went to Disneyland he got Little Cesears pizza and whatever cake they had at Smith's-he was stoked!!! He was ordained a Deacon(whew....that cheat sheet worked), and is so excited to be in young men's.  He has begun to learn the value of a dollar working for Todd's boss.  He has been pulling weeds, pruning trees(and fingers), and whatever else he is asked!! He loves the money, but decided he doesn't want to do that for a living!
Brooklyn is working hard at school, and swimming.  She is almost ready for swim team!!!  Paigers is busy being Paige and is also swimming.  She finally moved up a level!( They didn't want to pass her because she is a little short) Baby________ is growing everyday( Brooklyn likes to tell me everyday how big I/She is). They are all excited to ride on an airplane to the cool north this summer!!!
