REDnesday - Red Decorations/Tablescape

I am joining up with Sue at It's A Very Cherry World!
for REDnesday.
Lots of RED at Christmas time.
In the kitchen on top of the microwave
I have this canister and pitcher set.
Makes you think of Gingerbread.
I got it at the Hallmark store at their after Christmas sale a couple of
years ago.
The napkin holder I found at Ross also a couple of years ago
I think.
My kitchen tree with cookie cutters on it.
I stuffed a clear cookie jar with silver and green garland
and stuck the base of the tree in the opening.
Another teapot I got at an after Christmas sale.
This time at Joann's Fabrics. This one is a
Debbie Mumm design.
My table setting on Christmas Day.
The tablecloth is a vintage one.
I think it was my mothers tablecloth.
I bought the green chargers at Michael's the week before
Christmas.
The plates we got at Target when I decided to start adding RED to my kitchen.
The silverware was my grandmothers. It is quite old now.
I put balls in the cloche just like Shelia did over at Note Songs.
The crochet items were made by my sister-in-law as gifts
one year.
Lars my therapy bear has stolen one of the seats.
He is the one I won in a give away. He has hearing aids
just like me.
Other bears are keeping him company over there on my old
high chair. Yes mine. I sat in that chair as a child.
A place setting the opposite of the one I showed you before.
I have 4 place settings of each design. So if there are more than four of us,
I have to be creative with the setting.
 An overview.
Looking the other way towards the china cabinet.
My mother made that stocking when I was a child.
So that is also old!
By this time, I have added the coffee cups and water goblets.
And the wine is on the table.
My brother and parents have arrived, because my brother's jacket
is slung over the chair. Lars is going to have to move.
Dessert from Trader Joe's.
Served on my Princess House dessert plates.
I kept the meal simple.
Deep dish hamburger pie and applesauce jello.
I was going to make it with RED jello, then I remembered
that I was using RED dishes.
So I made it with green jello instead.
Just as tasty.
To make applesauce jello, you make your jello as usual with the hot water.
Then instead of adding cold water, you add applesauce instead.
Very refreshing taste.

I will also be hooking up with

Pink Saturday Birthday!

 Happy Pink Saturday!
Thank you to Beverly at How Sweet The Sound for hosting every week.

I decided to post today, because TODAY is my BIRTHDAY!
I am enjoying it by staying home, loving the sunshine coming in the house
and decorating for Christmas!

Here is some pinkness. Flowers in Spokane when I was there in July!
This is me when I was 6 and my baby brother was home from the hospital.
Me in PINK! Taken in Spokane this summer in July when I was attending the
8th Triennial Convention and Gathering of the Women Of the Evangelical Lutheran Church.
I was a delegate for the Convention portion and then stayed for the fun part!
This is me now! 22 pounds less than the previous picture!
Yay!
Also with me are my two precious granddaughters. All my kids were home for Thanksgiving!
Meaning the parents of these lovable girls, my son and daughter-in-law
as well as my daughter!
It was considered an early birthday and Christmas present to have them here.
Last year I was in Florida visiting them for my birthday!
I wish we lived closer so I could see them more often.
Shaylee who is 5 and in kindergarten.
I miss her hugs and her calling me Grandma Nea!
Kaylyn who is 1. Miss her cute expressions and waving "Hi" to us all them time.
I made this cute PINK toy for Kaylyn while they were here!

55 years old! Wow!
I can even starting getting some senior discounts now!
For example at Hancock's Fabrics on the first and third Wednesdays
I can get 15% off on my purchases there.
Just gotta remember to go when it is the first or third Wednesday!

Happy Pink Saturday to all!

Shadow Shot Sunday-Fence

Time for Shadow Shot Sunday again!
Been busy with my family visiting for Thanksgiving.
The kids are out with friends and the grandchildren are sleeping
giving me a chance to do a post.
If you look through the fence, you will see shadows of the patio chairs.
Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!

Alphabe-Thursday, C is for--

I know...today is Friday, but I do have an
Alphabe-Thursday post for you.
This week it is C.
I still have some pictures from our trip to Asilomar and Monterey Bay to show you.

Here we have a Crepe. A tasty C word.
Mine was a turkey, Cream Cheese and Cranberry sauce Crepe.
And it was tasty indeed!

While in Monterey, we came across this Candy store.
And it is a very Colorful one at that!
I did resist the temptation to buy Candy.
Did not want to sabotage my diet by buying Candy!
The name of the store is Candy Land. Cute huh?
The store was part of a mall type thingie.
Here it is from inside. Charming!
Hmm...more C words!
Cannery Row Company!
It was a fun trip!

Oh, and I must not forget!
I live in a C state--California!

Thank you to Jenny at Jenny Matlock for hosting our lessons.
Have a great weekend!

Alphabe-Thursday, B is for---

Time for Alphabe-Thursday again!
I am participating in Jenny Matlock's Thursday meme.
Click on her name to see more!

This time it is the letter B.
B is for Boardwalk. This is still at Asilomar where I shared
"A" pictures.
And B is for Beach. The Boardwalk leads us to the beach.
B is also for birds on the beach!
That Boardwalk just Beckons you to explore on a Beautiful day.

More Birds at the Monterey BAY Aquarium!
Seems it was nap time when I took this picture.

And we also have going home on a Bridge at sunset!
I think that is enough "B" words for today!
End of lesson until next time!
Have a great day/week!

Shadow Shot Sunday -Palm Tree Fronds

I missed posting last Sunday because I was at a convention which is where I took this week's Shadow Shot

I am looking forward to my kids and grandchildren visiting
for Thanksgiving!

Alphabe-Thursday---A is for....

This is new thing for me to participate in!
Jenny is our host!

Found out about it on Ellen's blog,
so I decided I could join in this time.

Just got back from short vacation and we went to a couple of
"A" places.
It was lovely staying at Asilomar.
Found out  Asilomar means  "a refuge by the sea".
That is a very good description of the place.

With our stay there, we also got passes to an Aquarium.
The Monterey Bay Aquarium to be exact.
I was happy to be able to get a picture of the underside of  what we think is a skate.
Doesn't it look cool?!?
A is also for anchovies.
There are a bunch of them in this tank along with a bunch of sardines.
They are in constant motion.
This is a circular tank and around and around they go
constantly chasing each other.

Have a happy week going into the weekend!
